I love games as a story-telling medium, and I want to talk about it. Open to any and all suggestions!
Unbreakable Hope in Attack on Titan, Halo: Reach, and Outer Wilds
Games can tell a lot of stories. But my personal favorites are those that place hope above all else.

Today, we'll be looking at the shocking accuracy of the newest installment of Call Of Duty. REMEMBER: it's only accurate to a point. Too much realism wouldn't make it fun. 5:00 maybe i'm too naive, i see absolutely no problem telling the truth here
I would love to see a video about isolation in games. The first time I played cry of fear, I felt this isolation feeling
@@fireflygaming7157 Thank you for the suggestion! I love that idea, I'll definitely be giving it some thought
Bro guys I never knew u saw the guy at the end in a truck
Bro the first 2 season are amazing
great video really love the way outer wilds displays hope and thank you for sharing your story God bless you🙏
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and God bless you as well!
Players choose honesty because doing the right thing makes you feel good. Despite the negative consequences that may come with it. You feel better about telling the truth because humans value authenticity. I’m no professional but based on the fact humans fear the unknown, having people around you who willingly choose honesty makes you feel safe.
You got the makings of a great video essayist, keep it up and keep sharing the faith. God bless
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that
Love this vid!
dude what a breautiful game and video, congrats!
Still waiting on the Chet spinoff
The way you use video games to tell stories is beyond amazing, as well as your story telling. I can’t remember the last time I watched a video as long as this one and your walking dead one, without any distractions or interruptions. I was engaged the whole time. You are a strong man for enduring what you went through and coming out on top. God bless you.
Truly, thank you for the kind words. They mean a lot to me. Glad you're enjoying my stuff, more on the way soon, friend.
Great video sir.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This video was so insanely good that I was honestly surprised to see how little other video are here. Not saying this as a bad rhing mind you. I'm so excited to see what else there will be in store for us here, this was amazing, thank you.
I'm glad you liked it! I'm excited to make more.
You should play alpha protocol
@@aceknightgaming1542 It's on my list! Now that I have a PC, should actually be able to play it.
Honestly, in my decade of being on TH-cam I think I’ve wrote around 5 comments. This video has blew my mind, I have played the game countless times and never really thought about how prominent the theme of honesty is throughout the game. I cried multiple times watching this, it really reminded me how much this game has truly left an impact on my mind. Really enjoyed listening to your analysis, one of the best I’ve listened too. Keep up the good work :))) Edit - went to check your channel to see if there’s any more videos, I’m sad there’s only 3 more!!! Can’t wait for future uploads
Oh wow, thank you so much!
Watched your TWD video, subbed and saw this one. Amazing work, Reach and Outer Wilds was crazy good, and as someone that knows pretty much nothing about Attack on Titan you described that section very well.
@@EpicxNerd73 I'm really glad you enjoyed them! Thank you for the sub, it really means a lot.
this is as well made as most larger chanales keep up the good work man
@@TheBoomStick1424 Thank you!
i he explain that the guy he killed slept with his wife?
@@notnotagoodguy9600 He did, but that still makes him a murderer. And he clearly regrets it based on his conversation with Clementine at the motor inn.
wow when I watched this video you actually inspired me, I can't believe how little views you got on this video since it rivals big creators. Thanks for your service and keep up the good work!
That means a lot, I appreciate the support.
Thank you, for sharing your story. Graduated from bible college and love video essays so, its cool to see someone in the sphere making content. God Bless man
@@jamesdanko9874 Congrats on your graduation. Keep running the race, brother. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Kennys story will always break my heart. A good man, even after everything to the last moment, he was trying to help someone else.
What an amazing and beautiful video, chef kiss🤌

Brilliant. You have a true gift, LIA.
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
A great video and very professional!!
@@angelvelez463 Thank you brother, I appreciate that.
good shit
I think the best way to play this game is to play as if you were in their shoes. What would you actually do when faced in these fake situations?
7:08 yeah i always hated that, would've gained the trust of the survivers there and mabey more people would've survived
This was phenomenal.
@@Justinhasnoenemies Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I normally listen to TH-cam in the background, this is one of those videos that made me sit down and actually listen to the message. Great video I wish you the best of luck, and thank you for your service.
@@jdthedwarf3252 Thank you very much, I really appreciate the kindness.
Ngl im like u i like the game rather than the show lmao
I watched your Lee video and thought it was amazing then I saw this and couldn’t help myself absolutely worth watch hope your channel takes off man. Best of luck to you and whatever path you take moving forward.
It means a lot to hear that, thanks for watching!
Leave it to the journalist to encourage the use of lies for your own gain.
I freaking love this game. It will always go down as one of my favorite gaming series of all time. Telltale absolutely killed with these “make your own choices” and living with those choices. I absolutely HATED that they killed Lee after one season. I cried a good amount playing these episodes.
I enjoyed it very much. I learnt something today. Thank you. God bless you my friend
@@giorgioadolfofredericoment4506 Thank you brother, glad you enjoyed it!
Phenomenal presentation, thank you for your perspective.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Where the hell is the new anime house bro
you deserve far more subs than you have, this was a refreshingly great video essay and a satisfying quality too!! could watch you for hours :)
Thank you friend, your kindness means a lot to me. More on the way!
I don't think it says a lot that people choose "the correct" thing to do. Cause that's pretty much the expected choice in most games, and most time and effort goes into these kind of choices, leaving the bad path undercooked if present at all. Also easy moral satisfaction, be the hero and all that. Doubt it really says anything about true contents of smb's character though
I mostly agree. However, I think the fact that most things are geared towards being the morally upright hero still speaks to the core of what I was attempting to get across. At the end of the day, most people still want to be a force for good in some way. I don't think your choices in a game are necessarily indicative of your true character, but heroism being the expectation speaks to a greater societal moral compass (if that makes sense). That's kind of outside the scope of this video, though. The real point I was trying to make was that the game has this thematic underpinning of the fight for honesty.
And would players pick the truth if doing so resulted in unwanted or undesirable outcomes?
That's a great question. I'm inclined to say "yes," but that's just a reflection of how I play most things. If the developer really connects me to the world, I'm more often than not going to choose truth (unless there is a role-playing element to the opposite).
Love how you didn’t mention the guy you can choose to save instead of Carley. She’s just too goated that everyone chooses her….
@@girlofthestars_6333 I think I've saved Doug a grand total of one time. He's just so flat compared to Carley.
People are bringing up Ben and I noticed how I've had the same expirience as some other people. I've watched a playthrough of TWD for the first time when I was 12 and thought Ben was so useless and annoying even though he's not a kid anymore, but only several years later when I revisited the game and remembered that Ben exists, I had more empathy for him. Growing up made me realise that you don't just magically nail everything in life once you hit 18 and then you suddenly have to be a super compitent adult, that sh*t's hard even in a normal setting, but being put in an apocolypse is an even harder mess to adjust to. I actually related to Ben in some aspects, of always being the quiet, useless in other's eyes kid who's just trying to do the right thring but keeps messing up, which made my anxieties even worse and led to even more mess ups. Ben isn't one of my favourite characters in this game now, but I don't hate him like I used to as a kid and really came to appreciate how he was written
The worst part about this game is "Kenny's hat is optional and not really needed"
Goated vid bruv sub
I killed Carly because I didn’t save her
(Spoilers ahead for TWD: Season 1, if somehow you haven't seen the ending) To add onto the little asterisk you left regarding the choice about stealing from the van - as well as the choice to be honest with Hershel in Episode 1 - I have to say, I'm about 99% sure when the game was just being released, and was at peak popularity before people knew about the ending, the choice for NOT stealing was actually HIGHER than the choice TO steal. With all the subsequent replays, re-releases of the game for the improved editions, and so on, players who already knew that stealing didn’t affect ANYTHING (quality of life doesn’t improve, and the stranger at the end of the game STILL kidnaps Clementine and wants you dead) chose to do it, because the connection they originally felt was much more subdued now. They’ve seen, or heard, or just simply know that one bad choice doesn’t affect anything, and they choose to do it instead, for the momentary benefit and because… “It doesn’t mean anything.” In regards to Hershel’s choice, I’ve watched MANY playthroughs, and in doing so found that MANY people don’t really understand the dialogue options when they’re talking with him. The phrasing or vagueness confuses them, and so they’ll believe they’re being truthful, but the game says they’re lying - so I think the data for that choice could be skewed from the lack of player understanding. Of course, some players do lie for one reason or another, but I believe your thesis about honesty still stands. Love watching essay videos about this HELLA old game, and this one was no doubt incredibly interesting :3c
Your first 2 videos are both awesome!! Keep going bro !
I didn’t even realize this was a small channel, I will be watching your career with great interest
