The Rational Root Theorem (also called the Rational Zero Theorem) is a useful tool in algebra to help find possible rational roots (or zeros) of a polynomial function. It provides a way to list all possible rational roots of a polynomial equation based on its coefficients.
The Rational Root Theorem helps you narrow down the potential rational roots of a polynomial. You still need to test these values to determine which ones are actual roots of the polynomial.
