There are plenty of plants that will photosynthesise happily without soil to turn Mars's carbon dioxide into free oxygen and biomass that can be turned into soil, or used as food and fuel for a permanent human colony to start becoming self-sufficient. They all live in open water.

Please don't start fires other than in the existing fire places in designated picnic / camping areas. Concentrated fire damages the soil in ways that take a *long* time to heal. Also in some countries at some times of year it is illegal to start fires in the open at all because of the risk of it escaping and starting a wildfire.

The kura is probably my favourite building. The proportions are perfect, as are the details, plus the magnificent beams inside, and as you say, the stone base is a wonder. Glad to find a video that sings its praises at last.
