How do you like the sound of the Q300 in comparison to the old MOS-1? My church has a 1997 Allen R450 that I absolutely despise (tonal blending wise), yet I have played numerous ADC and MDC organs and have yet to find one I dislike.
The Q300 has less stops than our old MOS-1 (I have a video of Trumpet Tune with that organ on You Tube in the same church) but the sound is so much better on the newer organ, and the Midi Expander is a huge help since the organ has a relatively small stop list. The main difference other than just the clarity of the stops is the instrument fills the church much better. It's actually a pretty small audio set up for a large church (4 full range cabinets and 1 SR5 Sub) but apparently it has an upgraded amplifier and the sound fills the church well.
soo nostolgic
The church has wonderful acoustics!
is this a 903?
Volvo B10M Yes, it was a 903. It is now in a landfill after suffering a major electrical malfunction. We have a Q300 now.
What went wrong with it? Was it tone circuits?
Would you recommend buying a used MOS-1 to someone if one became available?
Riding this ride yet another year !! We have it at the fair in my town !!
Wonderful!
Are you playing, Gregory?
Impeccable! Not a parishioner of your church; and I'm an ex-Jerseyan living near Big Guava, FL (that's Tampa) for nearly 2 decades now, but heard that it was replaced by a used, circa-2010 Allen Q300 last spring! Can't wait to hear that!
fromwkfsmouth Yes this organ suffered a major malfunction with the power supply and a good amount of the components burnt up. We raised money for the Q300 and it was installed in time for Easter last year, I believe it is only 4 or 5 years old.
Beautiful. Thanks for posting.

Amazaiiiiiiing

Wow! I could have sworn I heard the swish of Superman's cape as he circled the bell tower.
DJ CHARLES MY BROTHER HOPES YOUR RIDE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR
thank you so much
the musik express at seaside is the best! the DJ is very active, there is bubbles smoke flashing and good loud music. And also the ride last about 9 minutes. this is the best ride in seaside. They should deff get new one for seaside
I spent many hours sitting quietly in this beautiful church. My family attended here for over 18 years. I attended 6-8th grade at the adjacent school. I had the pleasure of playing on the previous organ. In my heart: Sister Miriam, Sister Euchareen, Sister Superior, Mr. Heenan, Mrs. Herman, and many other faculty. Love and miss all my classmates.. Graduated 1976.. All praise, glory and honor to Our Lord, Jesus, Mary, Joseph and all the Saints! Lauren D Hall (nee Phillips)
BTW, I've been working on 2 songs, Yesterday and Sometimes When We Touch. I remember you had great versions of both posted a while back, would you mind emailing the videos to me? I have the sheet music but I'm interested in hearing your versions again as the version I have is a bit bland. Email: GregoryHnath@hotmail.com Thanks!
Thanks Nigel, the organ is a joy to play and its pretty amazing such old technology can sound so good. The church has great acoustics which really helps. I share your feelings about newer Allens, I have heard several that have been very disappointing. I've heard one new large Quantum that sounded great but a lot of the Renaissance stuff I've heard was terrible. I think part of the problem is many dealers don't spend the proper time tuning the instrument and skimp out out the audio system.
this is djrub1977 i hope the musik express can be rebuilt from the hurricane so that DJ Charles can his comback on the musik express come bk dj charles u played awsome music
Excellent Thanks!!
Yo chuck whats up. been looking for you. its your brother from C.I. Coco please inbox me on faceb__k @djcoconyc. hope all is well. found you still doing it.just like old times.
So I grew up in this church and it has been at least 30 years, maybe a little less than that, and I can say that OLP is just as I remember it. I tried to enter the church once when I was in town for a wake but the church was locked. Thank you for the memories!
What up Jared my dude?!!!
I'm sorry, the name of the last song in this video is; Hmm Hmm by Beenie Man, The PREVIOUS SONG WAS FIRE BURNING. My Bad!,
DJ Charles, thanks for commenting! Because of motion sickness my girlfriend and I could never go on the Musik Express, but we would always stop by and watch from the rail, you do a great job with the ride and we can't wait to see you again, hopefully in the booth of a brand new ride! Our thoughts and prayers are with all those up and down the shore affected by the Hurricane. Everyone else be sure to watch my other Seaside video here on TH-cam, many more pictures of the pier and town!

OMG i have a beach house here and I live in wildwood during the summer!
i hope its like the original some how
We are going to the fhfair today
right i loved him
omg i loved that ride the guy in the box thing in the back is soooooo chill
I'm sorry to say that along with much of Seaside, this ride appears to have been destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Please keep the businesses and residents of the Jersey Shore in your prayers as they begin the long road to recovery. Hopefully one day we can take a ride with DJ Charles on a new Musik Express.
I grew up there and spent a lot of weekend on the pier in the late 70's to early 80's This ride was the most fun. I had great memories of it but now hearing the music used on it in the video is dissapointing. It is good to still hear the siren. They used to play Black Sabath or Aerosmith.
Thanks Drew. These older Allens really are great. This organ is in a large church with plenty of hard surfaces so the reverb is all natural.
Mine is a 632 - Yours looks very similar, except mine was finished in white. Mine also does not have a Chamade for the choir, only the Swell. Did you add any reverb to this? I recently added HLabs to mine. Great playing.
Awesome. LOVE it!
beautiful!!
