BMW X1 Rear Brakes After Less Than 30K Miles.
If you have a BMW X1 and are getting a service message to replace your rear brakes with less than 30K miles, you are not alone. Fortunately, you can replace them yourself with basic tools, and a scan tool (recommended), saving money in the process.

Maybe a dab of epoxy on the post and the washer won't "float"?
Thanks for sharing your idea! I initially gave a lot of thought how to "fix" the washer permanent. But, I think floating actually helps it to lock on the blade.
Very good
Thanks! It's a controversial repair in the eyes of many. But for a saw hardly used, I would do it again.
I took the top off and all the wiring flew off. How do I put it back together? I'm hoping you can help.
I don't know what model you are working on, but I was able to pop the lid on a HL-L5470DW for a quick video. I hope it helps. It will be available from this link- th-cam.com/video/1sFHStbdPxY/w-d-xo.html
@callmemike6171 my model is HL-L6200DW
There should be only one cable running from the control panel on the cover to the main control board, behind the left side panel. I only have access to a printer when one is down for service. Fortunately, not too often. Sorry I can't be more help.
@callmemike6171 the video you uploaded looks like my printer, but that yellow control panel popped out as well as the lcd display. I don't know how it goes back in.
I'll see if the printer is still around tomorrow. If so, I'll pull the top panel apart and try to record the assembly of yellow display and control panel boards. It should be uploaded around this time tomorrow.
Bought one for $5 at a pawn shop and put a dremel blade on it but for some odd reason i see it loosens up while using it for more than 10 seconds you think this may fix tightening screw from loosening
This procedure will only keep a non-Dremel blade from falling off. If the blade is getting loose at the bottom, then a washer would provide clamping on a larger area. If the tightening knob is getting loose that quick, then the previous owner possibly stripped something from over tightening. Mine has never become loose.
thank you ! you saved my life!
Glad it helped!
Recommend for painting cars??
That is some territory I don't want to comment on. However, I have run into a couple videos of guys painting vehicles with Rust-Oleum paint and a similar type HVLP sprayer. Thinned properly, it worked! This one certainly has enough power.
Love the Echo SRM-210
Funny, it just works!
Thank you sooo much for this video!!! It solved my problem.🙌🙏❤️
It might be a strange way to save a printer, but very rewarding! Thanks for your reply.
Can I spray thick acrylic paint with this?
BATAVIA does not mention acrylic paint by name, but as long as the paint instructions allow for thinning, it should work. The MAXXSPRAY Plus is powerful enough for viscosity up to 150-Dins. Be certain to strain the paint to avoid clogging.
It didn't work for me, but thanks anyway
Unfortunately, cleaning optics only cures one potential quality issue, but a common one. If the whole page is less than perfect with fading, ghosting, or blotching, then there is something more going on. It could be toner cartridge, drum, fusing unit, or even electronics. If the page looks great except for the left border fading out, then I would still give optics another shot. Isopropyl alcohol 99% on rotating optics and all other mirrors in the path. Treat it like cleaning a pair of eye glasses. Thanks, good luck!
Nice review, have seen these here in the UK but either a ratchet or impact wrench, information on spare batteries appears to be a secret. Did you find any such information ? PS. Nice delivery..I'm 65 and need time to listen and digest. Keep it up. 👍🇬🇧
Thank you for your reply! Popular brands, with long term replacement parts and support would cost four times more, and a replacement battery costing as much as this kit. For my occasional use, purchasing a inexpensive ratchet with two batteries is a planned lifecycle. No bad feelings if it dies after a few years. Side note: The solid hinge pin on the paddle switch walks out during use. I replaced it with a cotter pin for a simple fix.
Thank you!! You’re brilliant. Just completed this after a very frustrating day yesterday with my brother printer doing this exact same thing and then I found your video. It WORKED like a CHARM💕
That's great to hear! I've tripled the service life on some Brother printers that way. It does get easier after doing it a couple times.
Im glad I ran into this video!!! I found this chain saw in my parents old shed and went to prime it and the bulb broke because of rot, then I thought ok ill change it out, went to pull it off and all the lines were rotted aswell and I thought “well damn gonna have to take it to someone to fix it” but THANKS TO YOU!! I ordered the parts and ill be fixing it tomorrow!
Great! I hope it works out well for you.
Do ya think this will work for a yes welder tig 250 p
The blue color TIG-250P appears to have the same M16x1.5 connection, so it should work fine. Keep in mind, if you are not running a foot pedal, you will also have to mount a switch to the torch.
@@callmemike6171 I just found they out. I ended up useing a power block it fit nicely. I guess I’m going to be in the market for a hand control. Any ideas?
Assuming you have a 5-pin connector, Eastwood has a replacement for $21.99. Hopefully, with the same thread and pinout. www.amazon.com/Eastwood-Welder-Trigger-Replacement-Connection/dp/B07PWG726F
I keep all carbs and rebuild them for later use
Best thing to do on these saws is have a new carb and fuel lines ready and install when you think you might need it It’s not the saw but the lack of use that hurts them the most 😊😊😊
I agree 100%. In south Florida, my saw (mostly my Husqvarna) only sees action from one hurricane to the next. The climate destroys everything, even when not being used.
What is the tool you use to pry off the blue button in the first step? Nothing is working for me to get the button off. Thanks.
I used a small screwdriver, like a jewelers screwdriver. The cap has a few tabs that you have to work free. Fortunately, it's just a dust cover, so you won't break the tool by being a little forceful. Good luck!
That worked! Thank you so much!!@@callmemike6171
After the hoses You should replace carburetor diaphragm set. No need to replace the whole carb. Also why would You bother to replace primer bulb if it’s not leaking or cracked? 🤔
Thanks for the comments. If my daily job depended on power equipment, my approach would be completely different. When I found tune-up kits, including carburetor, for less than the cost of an OEM gasket kit, I couldn't resist. I've tried them on a few pieces of equipment with mixed results. For a basic do-it-yourself person, using their yard tools occasionally, this is a viable option. Primer bulb? I confess, sometimes there's ethanol in the mix. Change it now, or change it later.
"YOURE BREAKING MY PRINTER!!!" "Maam, I need to take it apart in order to fix it..." Your fix worked, thanks. I now have a satisfied customer who is super annoyed with me 😅
I guess she won't be getting that new printer for Valentine's Day! All my fault...

but buyer shouldn't have to fix THEIR tool.
It's common for manufacturers to leverage us into reinvesting in their brand. Wouldn't it be nice if cordless power tool batteries were universal? This is just a simple hack to save money. The tool itself has served me well. Thanks for the comment!
Thank You for this, worked for me too. Great stuff.
Great to hear! Thanks for the reply.
Boy this will save some people a lot of money being able to do basic maintenance at home ! Great video Mike !
Thanks! It was a couple hours well spent.
I have a HL-L2330D that seems to fade my prints in the middle of the page even though my toner is high. Do you happen to know if it'll be a similar fix?
I've never had a 2300 series printer open, but the laser assembly should be similar. However, with the leading edge of the rotating optics catching the contamination, fading should show on the left edge of the page. I would be more suspicious of the drum. I believe that printer still has a separate drum and toner cartridge? Cleaning optics is a free step in troubleshooting either way.
@@callmemike6171 Thank you for your reply! The solution I found was to shake the toner cartridge from side to side several times after every several pages of printing to evenly distribute the toner. Rather annoying but that seems to work in stopping faint printing in the middle. I appreciate your reply
@@callmemike6171😊😊😊 😊
nice job. why spend a 1000 dollars on a graco paint gun when this will do just fine
Thanks. It seemed to work really well. I think if I was a professional painter, I would have a few on hand, and simply open a new box at the first sign of trouble. It would be easy to build into the quote.
Keep the original carb and rebuild it sometime to keep as a spare, the knock off's don't last long. Also, if you don't use you saw often, buy some true fuel 40:1, it can sit for two years (so the can says) and won't rot your fuel lines or the interior of the carb. Nice job, I've alway wanted one of these, I consider it a collectable. Ha!
Thanks a lot! I did keep the carb, along with the carb from the Echo trimmer refresh I recently did. I don't really trust the knock off's either. But, I don't rely on it for my job, and I find it a novelty to replace so many components for what I used to pay for a gasket kit. Have a great day!
i always drop my outlet valve in a glass of deisel oil and fill the inlet valve hole up with deisel too
Great idea, and Happy New Year!
thankyou--its never failed me
Really appreciate you taking the time to post this video. It fixed the issue for me. Thank you!!!
It's great to hear that. We saved another Brother's life!
Very informative video and it's a very detail comparision between the original and the new carburetor. Are you up for a collaboration? Hipa supplies parts for small engines and maybe we would work together to share more tips of repairing and help more people in the community.
Thank you for reaching out, but I don't believe I'm a good fit. I post a variety of topics depending on my challenge of the day. Out of that, what might be of interest to the community, and what I can manage to document on a video. The Echo for instance, was not supposed to be a video, until I realized my quick yard trim wasn't going to happen until the trimmer was serviced. Thanks again!
@@callmemike6171 got you and thanks for your reply.
I have the same trimmer and recently installed an Echo Speed Feed head with MaxPower Twisted line. A huge improvement in ease of use and performance. This really wakes up these smaller trimmers and has them punching above their weight class.
Thanks for sharing that tip! The Echo has always been a great reliable trimmer. Once I put the camera down, I was able to make short work of the weeds on my property line!
Awesome Idea! It inspired my version.

FYI - BIG thank you again! I bought the two Amazon M16x1.5 x hose barb and it only took about 20-30 minutes start to finish. They work fantastic and your engineering saved me a ton of time and money. I installed a 25' CK SuperFlex so I can work on my boat without having to move anything. There is a site that sells these but you wind up paying $55/ with delivery. 👍🤠👍
Super helpful. Now I can use these Ryobi blades set I bought at a bargain. 👍🏽
Glad to hear that! It's nice to have options.
Thank you!! I am going to do this for my Eastwood TIG welder so I can put the CK SuperFlex power/gas cable on it.
I looked up a couple Eastwood examples and it does look like the same connection. Search Amazon for Joywayus Fitting Adapter M16×1-5 Female, and it should return the one I used. Sold in pairs. Good luck and Thanks!
Awesome review. Thanks. Recommend playback speed at 1.5.
Sorry, here in Florida everything moves slow.
It worked for me! Thank you!
Cool, glad to hear that! There's a dozen things that can affect image quality, so this is no guaranteed fix. But it is a good possibility, especially when using aftermarket toner. Another tip- The fuser is not hot enough for some aftermarket toner. You will notice the text smudge when you rub you finger across it. Go into the printer software settings for paper stock and change it from plain paper to thicker, or card stock. It slows the print speed down, spending more time passing through the fuser, and gets a better bond.
I usually listen to my favourite chill podcast to get me to sleep at night but now I found you no need to. Your voice gets me off in 2mins or less. Could you sound more disinterested on here please keep them coming zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzxz
Yes, sorry for being so monotone. But that means you watched for almost two minutes! When I start a video and someone is yelling "Yo, what's up TH-camrs", it's closed immediately. I'm still a novice at this, and appreciate the feedback.

Lol, there was enough oil between the barrels not to stick them shut. After 6 months, and the door being used every day, the paint on the outside still looks great.

wrecked my printer dont do this image is blured
Tony- Sorry to hear you ran into a problem. Cleaning the optics is really no different than cleaning a pair of reading glasses. Alcohol on a soft cloth, and make sure there is no haze or residue left when finished. My guess is haze, and that can be wiped with a dry microfiber cloth. The rest of the optics are mounted fairly well, so I doubt any were bumped and misaligned.
excellent video, the problem resolve. Thank you..
That's great to hear. Thanks for the comment!
excellent video thanks!!
Thanks for your comment! Good luck with your printer. If it is extra dirty inside, all optics should be cleaned.
should wear vinyl gloves (Costco blue ones) to avoid fingerprints and oils on the laser spinner
That is always good practice either way. It will also protect your fingers from the alcohol. I have a bad habit of tearing gloves, so I seldom wear them. It is most important to avoid touching the mirrored surfaces with anything but the cleaning cloth.
How long did you have this unit before you had to order and change these rings and valves? Do you think it is worth buy a second hand Wagner control pro
I bought the sprayer new and painted my house. I didn't pull the valves to properly clean and preserve. About 10 years later I used it to paint an inground pool. I found the valves crusty, and had to replace. I dumped in some lube when I was finished, but as you see in the video, 5 years later it was very gummy. So, they were replaced again. This is an old sprayer, so I thought I was smart by adding a fresh gun. I had no clue the hose was rotted on the inside. I already owned the sprayer, and it was worth the $85.00 to keep it going. All that being said, Control Pro is still being sold. It looks like Lowe's is listing it for 200 bucks. If you can find one used that is clean and cheap, you might get lucky. Otherwise, you might be adding 85 on top of what ever you paid.

Very useful video, can you tell me your contact details? I would like to co-operate with you.
Thank you for this video, I bought this sprayer and was slightly afraid to use it because I was afraid of the ability to control the spray and how it really works. Your video showed me everything . I have completed what I wanted to spray so thank you !!
That's great to hear! It is so easy to get intimidated by all of the little details. I wanted to show more steps, like thinning the paint. But in no time, my fingers were covered in paint, and trying to operate the camera was not an option.
Now, when you say " price point," do you mean "price?" Just checking.
Hi Michael. "Price point" is how I justify the purchase of a tool, and the service I expect from it. The cordless ratchet is just a convenience tool for odd jobs around my house. For something that tackles random assembly and maintenance tasks in the $50.00 range, I consider it an affordable price point. Especially when you can easily spend more for a decent mechanical ratchet. So yes, it just means "price". Thanks!
How long did it take for your first paint batch to run out of your sprayer
There was plenty paint for two coats on the 8'x8' area of my front door. My other jobs were smaller. I would expect a bedroom for instance, would require a couple fillings. Outdoor wood fence, possibly every few panels. That is the key drawback of this style sprayer.
