I went on an adventure with strangers.
Back in October, I went on a trip with strangers to the dolomites. We all only met each other once prior and then I found myself speaking to them about my bucket list: one of the places being the dolomites located in the Italian mountains. I was working a part time job at the time which I was low-key miserable at ahhh so I wanted some time to somewhat escape reality and just trust spontaneity. I took sometime to reflect before even starting to edit this video as long story short it wasn’t the best, I left this experience alone and feeling very depressed.
The truth is I’ve always really struggled to make new friends and connect with people as it can be very hard to navigate as an autistic person. But it’s hard when reality hits and well it’s not the trip you were expecting it to be. I’m not going to go into personal reasons as that wouldn’t be professional for me to do as a filmmaker. However, I hope I can revisit this year and stay in a mountain cabin overnight, now that would be a crazy experience.
This video taught me though that “the smallest of things can change everything” whether that’s in a good or bad way. If we don’t uncover parts of our comfort zone then how will we grow as humans, that’s how I’m viewing it now. It’s about the smallest acts of kindness from locals when they could see I was distressed, to making a new friend in the airport. I believe maybe this happened to me for a reason. These simple acts we choose to do everyday can make a big difference.
I have many upcoming videos coming out soon that are a lot more personal and are based on my life, I hope you can continue with me on this journey, and this year there will be so many more adventures. Even better!
(side note: huge thank you to @wherescalebshaw & @selinclayton for all your support throughout my process, I very much appreciate you both)
Warmly,
Mireya

Back in August, I completed my first Camino! I spent 6 days in Spain, where I took on a 4 day Camino route finishing in the city of Santiago de Compostela. After watching a variety of videos related to the Camino, I instantly knew I wanted to document my journey and the people that came with it. I find a huge aspect of the Camino is mainly about the community surrounding it, you come to underst...
Wow!.. SO proud of you. Rollercoaster of emotions watching that Mireya. Glad you came home in one piece, you should have faith in yourself & your talent. 😘❤️🙏🏻😁X
Lovely video, just you being you, no pretence… I hope you revisit more of the Camino or other ones
@@TimmyTours thank you so so much! Yess I definitely will be revisiting as soon as I can and want to experience a longer, less traditional route
this is such an inspiring watch mireya! I love your storytelling and narrative - the honesty and perspective you bring is so refreshing. keep it up! 🤍
@@cynthia_huynh Thank you so much! Ahh that’s means so much to me, I didn’t want to create a video where I just show the highs as then well the story would be quite worthless to me, so I had to force myself to be honest! Thank you again, I’m working on my next video from today and I’m very excited about it!
@@mireyalucass noo honestly, that's what people relate to the most. and tbh i feel the same way about some of my travels too! i look forward to seeing more of your work :)
This looks so fun!! I loved this video, its so wholesome!! Well done! love the bits of mixed media too
@@jenniferthesantos wow thank you so much Jennifer I really appreciate you commenting! It took me ages to get the storyline right but I do think the mixed media added that extra touch. Thank you so much 😊
@@mireyalucass it did! and i cant wait for a cotswolds (??) video to come out too 🤨☺
@@jenniferthesantos thank you!! basically I’ve been on loads of trips that I haven’t posted about yet, but I can’t wait to combine them into my next video! & yess I’m including that in my 4th video haha, as it relates to the topic, my next video will include footage from Berlin 👀
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! Im so proud of u! 🥹
Thank you so so much Anna I really appreciate it! Can’t wait for your upcoming video too 🫢
Mireya, I’m so proud of you for this video! Your camera presence keeps improving and this is so beautiful. I love the cows LOL after all the struggles you went to to post this you should feel so proud of yourself❤I can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeve
Ahhh thank you so much Selin, I remember when I first showed you on the train! And you were like wow it feels a lot more authentic which is so true, I struggled to look at the camera before so i appreciate you pointing that out & yess it was a real struggle but so glad it’s finally out now. Onto the next
Super like your video and adventure, great job!!
Thank you so much, I’m so glad you liked it. I really appreciate your kind comment! ☺️
The shots are amazing!! I love this 🤍
@@annamarziaa thank you so much Anna, it truly means a lot coming from you! ☺️
Mireya Lucas, caminando por la hermosa Galicia. Gracias.
Hey Mireya it’s me I’m so happy for u ❤️❤️❤️❤️ this is insanely good ❤️❤️
@@RubyRedS1ippers thank you so much ruby ❤️ I hope your doing well! It’s so nice for you to watch this and comment so thank you
Aw mireya I love this video!!! You have such a knack for filmmaking and it really shows in this video
@@Deliquescent thank you how kind of you! I really appreciate that, hugely. I think I developed a love for it overtime! And now I’ve realised this is what I want to do ❤️
This video has brought me lots of memories of my pilgrimage through the entire Camino Frances with my two sons last summer... God!!!! how I miss it... Enjoy it while it last... ❤❤❤❤❤
@@beronikabriceno5492 thank you so much! So glad you could came across this video and you could relate to it! So special that you were also able to experience this with your sons too! Thank you, I miss it very much too. Do you plan on doing another?! ☺️
@mireyalucass absolutely!! I am looking forward to doing it again with my husband someday in the near future. You should do it again anytime soon... There are other Caminos waiting for us !!!!
@@beronikabriceno5492 I’m happy to hear that. It’s always nice to experience something like this with a loved one! I will definitely be going again, but most likely a longer route this time now I know what to expect! I thought I’d find it hard adjusting to the hostel life but I actually enjoyed it, my friend said sleep is overrated which I agree with haha you don’t really need to stay in a bunch of hotels each night. Your able meet likeminded people in the hostels, I didn’t film this part but I even saw people from previous days staying in the same place as me and was nice to catch up the next day and have a conversation!
Nothings random. Well done M, proud of you, what an achievement and great film.
Thank you so much Steve, I appreciate you watching this! Glad you enjoyed it 😆
Great video Mireya, you caught the Camino perfectly. I look forward to seeing your video of Kilimanjaro, go smash it!!!
@alexmuirden8794 thank you so much Alex, glad we are still in contact! And yes hopefully it will be an upcoming video from January 🤞
Hi, mireya, that was lovely. I’m glad you enjoyed my son’s energy. Enjoy your travels and have a great life. I’m Alex’s dad❤️
Thank you so much Eddie for your very kind words, it was a pleasure to meet your son! He’s very experienced and knowledgeable with travel which was very inspiring to me. I remember he was telling me he was planning on giving you his pilgrim stick to go in your pub! He said every place he goes he tries to bring you something back which I found so special to hear! Thank you so again, this means a lot to me
@@mireyalucassand that stick is hanging in his bar with the trainers I wore 😂
@alexmuirden8794 omg really ahhh 🤣
the nostalgia hits different
Mireya, you captured a beautiful portrait of life!!! I have seen many camino videos, but yours goes straight to the heart! Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope I can do the Camino soon. Congratulations!!!
Hey Omar, I’m so glad you stumbled across this video and this is one of the nicest comments I’ve received. I’m very new to posting on TH-cam so it’s much appreciated. I’m glad you felt it too!! This is a huge compliment to me. I just wanted to make sure I created something that gives a full picture of what the Camino does really entail. You should definitely consider doing the Camino, you won’t regret it. Did you have a route in mind? Camino Frances is the one I did but it’s also a very popular route, it officially starts from St John. Thank you so much again
Hey Mireya, loved the video! Maybe we meet again on a next Camino!
@@edwinboone1247 Hey Edwin, I’m so happy you came across this video. It was pleasure to meet you! Anna told me you saw a look alike of me in finisterre haha. But yes definitely I’m planning on coming again! I hope all is well and thank you again
