The Economic Impact: Ad Valorem Informational Campaign
มุมมอง 1993 หลายเดือนก่อน
Strong schools equal stronger communities! When a community has a thriving school system, citizens benefit from the positive economic impact regardless of their use of the schools. From an economic development perspective, a strong school district attracts industry and business, which generates new jobs, thus creating a desirable community with increased wages and home values. However, when a l...
Renovate Facilities & Reduce Debt: Ad Valorem Informational Campaign

Autauga County Schools has long-term facility issues that must be resolved in order for the district to move forward. The current model, with four different communities, is not sustainable at today’s level of funding, especially with some areas losing students and others growing faster than the system can accommodate. The district would like to set aside funds for strategic facility upgrades th...

2024 State of the Schools Presentation
So few community members attending
Most people choose to watch it online.
Praying that this is voted in!! Paying a little more is definitely worth it for our students and schools!!
If they stop using these kids to try to get all of this money. and put this money in the school system like they should instead of giving out all these big raises
Thank you for your feedback! You can watch a video released last year of the district’s CSFO explaining how funds are spent. The FY2025 budget hearings are coming up too! The public is invited to attend or watch live on ACS’ TH-cam page. th-cam.com/video/Agq4nHZXGDg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MVLmmAMlqS0hsfXc
Where can I find zoom meeting info
Our school system needs to communicate with the citizens so they know what they are supporting. This presentation accomplishes that task. I want you to know that this effort is well done and appreciated.

Dr. Rayfield is a very accomplished person in all his pursuits. He is poised and has the demeanor, intellect and experience to carry out an effective plan to move Autauga County in the right direction. In addition, he understands the unique River Region dynamics having grown up in the area.
I’ve watched all the interviews. I’ve commented on each with positives and negatives. My comments are meant to be constructive and provide at least one point of feedback from an actual member of this community. I should preface my comments by saying that I am both a product of Autauga County Schools and a parent of a graduate of an Autauga County School. After watching all these interviews, I’m convinced Lyman Woodfin is your best candidate. Here’s why. You need a strong leader with ties to the community. Here sits a candidate who’s loved by parents and students alike. This district has unique challenges because it’s one school district consisting of 4 distinct communities. This candidate has experience in multiple communities within the County and has been successful in both. He has a clear leadership presence and enthusiasm that will inspire others to follow. He has a passion for students and the community that I didn’t glean from any other candidate. He is the only candidate I saw that seems ready to roll his sleeves up and get to work on day one. Bottom Line: You are a brand new school board. The community voted YOU into office because they were fed up with the board that botched COVID so bad in Autauga County. You hold the seat you serve mainly because you weren’t an incumbent. Problem is, next cycle YOU will be the incumbent. Since we don’t elect Superintendents anymore, this is your time to shine. Make the right choice, stay in office. Make the wrong one and you’ll be the board responsible for bringing the guy from Georgia in who didn’t understand Alabama doesn’t have ESPLOST money to burn on cameras in every classroom. The community told you loud and clear that you have less than 50% trust from voters in Autauga County by the disaster that was the tax increase. Quite frankly, you need someone that will rally the community that elected you and work towards solutions. I only see that from one candidate here and that is Lyman Woodfin. Good luck and may God bless your decision.
Strong Points: seems like a genuine, nice guy with lots of Sup experience. Weaknesses: I’m not sure how much stamina and longevity someone can have left in the tank after a 35 year career. This job is going to require a power lifter. This County is facing tough problems and hasn’t had a real captain at the helm for 10+ years. I don’t honestly see this candidate staying with it for more than 2 years. The districts he’s had experience leading in Georgia aren’t great. Both of those districts are fairly disorganized and have significant challenges of their own compared to other GA districts. Probably not the best choice for this specific role.
To your point of his stamina, his experience level is misleading due to the fact that he was in college at the ripe old age of sixteen. I don't know his exact age but he's younger than I am by at least two years and I'm 59. Yes, Autauga County has great challenges without question but he has experiences unlike some of the other candidates.
Strong points: this candidate seems genuine and approachable. She is from Alabama and has better insight into the funding challenges. You don’t survive in Alexander City Schools without understanding how to do more with less. Weaknesses: I don’t see a strong leader. I see an educator. This job is going to take a strong leader and more presence to right this ship. Nothing I see in this interview says this candidate can lead by inspiring others to follow.
Strong points: seems like a genuinely nice man. Weakness: lacks energy and enthusiasm. Might be a good fit for a school district with great funding and few challenges. Autauga County needs a doer who’s ready to role up his/her sleeves and tackle tough problems. I don’t here anything to indicate that this candidate is up to that challenge.
Strong points: well spoken, good ideas and articulate. Solid experience and background. Weaknesses: Georgia Schools are a very different animal than Alabama Schools. Other than sharing a border the commonality is non existent. The discussions around funding and experience with initiatives like ESPLOST are completely irrelevant to Autauga County (or any school district in Alabama) because that funding is imaginary here. Cameras in every classroom and recorded audio would not only make teachers uncomfortable, they produce an enormous liability for the district. How is that data stored and secured? What happens when that video gets into the wrong hands? Many of the initiatives he discussed are just not possible in Autauga County which would lead to frustration. Words without substance.
weak points: school is boring not fun
Very impressive!
