    The fact you think this is something you should post is sad... It shows how empty your life truly is... I am familiar with doing the cross hairs for print and cut but how does the registration marks work for lining up the material to cut on the laser?

    • @Thecountryporchswing
      @Thecountryporchswing หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelphillips40 because your registration marks are in the same exact position in your print file as they are for your cut file. So when you create your cut lines (as shown in the video) they correspond to your print.

    Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm trying to get into making my own double sided acrylic keychains and only had an inkling of an idea based on manufacturer images sharing their layer process. The only difference with yours though includes the black layer in the sandwich. The manufacturers only do the white layer then print on top of the white layer for the other side. I figured that made sense to put a white layer in between but after watching your video, would that not be a good idea? Will the colors be off or bleed if I only do the one white layer in between? I work for a crafting company that has been expanding into larger scaled printers and laser cutters. I have the machines at our office and I wanted to try my hand at this. Another question, do you apply a clear epoxy coat over the top layer of your keychains? That seems to be a method the manufacturers use. Or they stack another acrylic sheet on top. Idk how they would keep them bonded though

    • @Thecountryporchswing
      @Thecountryporchswing 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’re going to have to test print a couple and see if and how it changes the color of your design or logo by adding a black layer. If it does you could try adding an additional white. This technique of layering with black is used a lot with window decals etc. I don’t make many keychains because they get a lot of wear and tear and are eventually going to chip, so I couldn’t answer the epoxy question. I don’t apply epoxy or UV resin to anything. On the earrings I do an onboard clear/varnish to help protect the print.

      I built a top with a lip all the way around with pine that fit over the crate. I didn’t need to attach it because the lip/overhang kept it from sliding and it was heavy enough and sturdy.
