Fela Kuti & Egypt 80 Live at Austin City Coliseum, 1986 (ACTV)
Recently discovered Austin Community Television (ACTV) footage of Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Egypt 80's November 12, 1986 performance at the Austin City Coliseum.
There seems to have been more footage of this performance in the original broadcast, but this is all that was recorded on the particular tape we have.
If anyone was at this gig or has any info on it, we'd love to hear about it!

This man is my great uncle. His baby sister was my grandmother. I remember listening to his records as a little boy.❤

I loved this man, Robert Shaw. He ran a BBQ stand in Austin and often played piano solo at the Driskill Hotel piano bar on Congress Ave. He'd sit and talk and dispense wisdom to a young fellow, at least to this young fellow, he did, many times. God Bless Robert Shaw!

Thank you so much for posting this. These are two of my favourite Fela songs and to see him and Egypt 80's perform them live is such a blessing. Would you by chance have access to the full video? The production values are real high, I'm sure it exists somewhere in full, right?

I knew this man he was like a Grandfather to me! Thanks for uploading this video it brings back a time in life that was a lot simpler and we weren't in such a day to day rush. He actually saved me one day after I feel in a patch of cactus and after he pulled me out he dug up the cactus and threw it away. This was filmed one year before I was even born... Awesome video Thanks!!! It’s cool to see old friends that you haven’t seen and remember the good times in thats what makes it so precious. Oh yeah his wife was the sweetest person too she used to babysit me Rest in Peace Grand Bob and Grand Martha.
