Sound like buckets made from tin
it has a hasting stay 🔔🔔
The only thing that makes these bells sound better than listening to them in this video is being right there looking up at the enormous size of this cathedral. It’s like looking at the side of a mountain.
Ive rung here
Wow
Nice bells 🔔
❤❤❤❤
that wheel is incredibly close to that frame
Brilliant ... Thank you . I love hearing the bells :)
Petersklockan har en sån dov, ren och fin klang!
These are fab 👌
I enjoyed these, found the front ones quite flighty!
That reverb is nasty. 💜
Jewry are good to.
There a beautiful 8 like Clerkenwell.
these sound so beautiful
How many bells?
8 full circle, 1 full circle bourdon, and a couple of clock bells
@@kiwibellringer9729 k
Nice
Least buckety Harrison bells:
Sounds exactly like the 4th at Ormesby!
Lucky how did you get to ring there.
You either ask the right people or get invited :)
Is this in a church? Or is it privately owned building? Can't find any photos of the building outside, so curious to know.
@@DylanSmith_15 I actually have no idea. I think it might be privately owned - but it is on dove’s.
On online dove I can't find any evidence this ring of bells exists at all. Can you give a link? As an aside, the claim they're in E will be based on the international standard that sets A=440Hz. If we took A=432Hz as our standard instead, they might be classed as F
@@michaelwoolley7034 well it definitely does exist 😂 dove.cccbr.org.uk/tower/13098
The man on the 5 looks like Stephen Jakeman
@@Ringer_SamuelOwenLiam it isn’t
@@kiwibellringer9729 oh ok
That just sounds beautiful
A ringing chamber with a lift/elevator and a radiator. What luxury!
I’ve rung here before and I thought they weren’t too bad. Although some of the sallys are ridiculous low. Matlock are worse so never go there as they are horrible sounding and really odd struck. Go to Darley Dale instead of Matlock if you go.
Darley dale are also pretty vile.
and space for a few more !
There ARE a few more!
@@kiwibellringer9729 ROPES! In the rope circle
No no, in the rope circle!!
I love these bells, so easy to ring and great sound in the ringing room
They sound really good. Did you record them from outside?
Yes, but it’s very quiet, can send it if you want
Lovely bells😂
@@DevonRingerEwan was a highlight of the trip 🤣
@@kiwibellringer9729 I have always wanted to ring here
Lucky😂 I forgot Alban forster rung method too
The most tuneful bells I have ever heard. 😂
Large mini ring
I wondered, do they handle awful as well or are they ok?
They’re a little heavy going, but otherwise ok
James Harrison the cymbal bells I call em. Thry sound better as the clock chimes than full circle but are historic significant.
These sound amazing
yep, no bells quite like them !! 😂
@@adamm2693im actually being serious i love the sound of them
I agree, and without sarcasm, just a break from the typical "nice" sounding sets. I really like these kinds of unusual sets more than the tuned sets.
All of you, get your ears cleaned. They are absolutely abhorrent 🤣 but I get the point about them being different!
@@kiwibellringer9729you are correct, they are BLOODY AWFUL, even steel bells sound better. Taylors overhauled them in 1923, but obviously they were not retuned.
Lol 😆
Rang here. Best 8 eight in Castleton thats for sure!
Ahh, don't sound nice xD... But the ringers do a good job! Are these bells historic?
The bells 1 and 2 were cast in 1812, and bells 3-8 were cast in 1803 all cast by James III Harrison. All bells are listed according to doves guide.
@@Snomsmis they are somehow “listed”…. God knows how they got on the list. They’re interesting for being shite, but otherwise I’d have them smashed up. To be fair they should be kept though for their shitness alone! 🤣
Is the floor glass or is it an open floor for everybody to see?
I’ve rang there and they are very nice to ring
sounds like down wrong
I ring at the lovely 8 at Darley Dale
upwrong
I rang here last Sunday
This gave me goosebumps
23.97 secs
They sound like the bells at St Thomas the Apostle in Lymington, Hampshire UK
OR ST MICHAELS PENKRIDGE UK
