    My brother, I have a problem with my scooter gotway ACM 820w . When the speed reaches 40, the alarm goes off and the scooter turns off. Do you have any solution to prevent it from turning off, or a video clip explaining the method, brother?

    • @michaelpaolini
      @michaelpaolini 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry I have no experience with that model. Generally speaking the alarm is warning you that the voltage in the battery is sagging and the wheel is in danger of not having enough power to self balance. Ignoring the alarm puts the rider at real risk of crashing (think how few safety features Gotways include - that will give you an idea of how important heading the alarm is). Good riding.

      So kind of you to say. I’m still figuring it out - but I know I have a few things I want to offer a view point on. :). Costa Rica is likely first up - as it has captured my heart. And what is interesting to me is I would have thought an EUC would be perfect for getting around down there, but the roads + drivers are a requirement for pads, and the tropics are just too hot. It’s weird, but I think onewheels are likely a better choice thanks to the ability to stop and stay on.

    Welcome back! Condolences on your loss. As much as I dig EUCs the level of breakneck danger craved by the community and increasing prices kinda cooled my enthusiasm for them. Although I still follow most/all of the channels I did back then, I'm up for seeing what your new content will be.

      Thank you, Chivas was a pain in the ass, but he left a truck sized hole in our hearts because his personality was just that big. He is missed, but passed quietly and quickly. As for leaving IBM, it was bitter sweet as I was with them over 26 years, but it is also an open secret that IBM actively works to get rid of anyone over 50 (seems like a class action lawsuit every other year), and I had a great run. The reality was I was burned out from trying to steer the executive team into smart plays and away from bad ones - and my wife maintained that if I had stayed it would have killed me. And yes, the EUC community seems like they increasingly risk addicted (both physical and legal). I also still watch he channels. All that being said, ours has been a pretty good couple of years compared to many others, and Magellan has never been happier. He’s always up for an adventure. You can get a preview of some of what is coming on Costa Rica by going to the Facebook link. facebook.com/people/Villas-Cerca-del-Mar-9/100093293490904/ And spoiler warning, we bought a house in Costa Rica we hope to eventually retire to - and while we aren’t there we AirBnB it out. So the first view videos will likely be shorts I can use for that. I am still trying to figured out if I’m going to talk about why we decided to retire outside the US and why we choose Costa Rica - I feel like it would help some folks out there, but I also am in a happy place and don’t want to become a lightning rod for the more nutty people on the Internet. :) How has the last few years treated you?

    I am right now in the same boat as Glasco was in his beginning (sp). I just bought a V13. I am 6'2" and 230lbs. Never stepped on an EUC. Good news though. I do not have to bang it up. Got lucky and got to know the local EUC guy who is letting me borrow a padded training wheel (V10f). He also gave me the extra padding and double sided tape I can use on the V13 when it arrives this week for when I feel confident enough to jump on it. First day was hell cause I figured out I had the wrong shoes on...that was 2 days ago. It has been raining do just been doing that one legged half circle thing and scoots in the garage. Today at lunch was first day trying to actually ride again since Saturday with the bad shoes. I can ride if I remember to relax...working on turning. When I turn, I keep turning lol. 😛

      You got this man! It took me about 3 weeks of practice everyday to really re-wire my brain and become one with the EUC - and the back half of that is longer and longer rides and very enjoyable. If you keep going, I've got other videos of me trying to teach another friend of mine coming from the OneWheel the EUC. Most of them are just us shooting the breeze while we ride, but embedded into a couple of them are things like learning how to take curbs as well as do an emergency stop from high speed. Good luck and ride safe!

  • @CrunchyTire
    @CrunchyTire 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had the V8F and had the same problem you describe about your V10F. I dont think its a "bug" but just how the wheels worked. Its why I sold mine as well. There were 2 times that I overpowered the wheel going up a small driveway, and it said "Please Get Off" and tilted me off the back, reboot the wheel to fix the pedals. Then it was like your friends. I was on flat ground trying to cross a street, and I asked just a little too much of it, and it dumped me in the middle of the road until I rebooted the wheel. So when you need the power most, the opposite happens and it boots you off. I have their V12 and its a monster for a 16 inch wheel. After you ride the Mten3 and get on the V12 it feels like a dang tank. In a good way though, the Mten3 feels like a mini V12 lol.

    The ZTen is really fun to ride and carve at slower speeds and is a bit to handle at higher speeds so it fits well with me at 60 years of age. My days of hauling ass are in the past. I'm good with that. I think the tire shape or profile has a lot to do with the ZTen's personality 😉

  • @LemonySnicket-EUC
    @LemonySnicket-EUC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The batteries are inside the wheel of the ZTen which makes it so compact with a low center of gravity. So it's different. I'm having fun with mine and will never sell it but will buy other wheels in the future. Do you have brake assist turned on here ? I've learned on this wheel and have had no issues. I've ridden regular Unicycles since I was 12 so that helped quiet a bit. I rode a bit in the kitchen and then went outside on grass trails and hopped right up and rode.

      Yea, that's a heavy wheel. You may need to to pad it against beating it up and get a rope leash it to you so it doesn't run free and damage your neighbors car while you learn.. :) With the one leg start, there should be a balance point where the weight is effetely zero, from there you can tilt it a bit to get traction for your one legged mount. @@stan9823 the amount of amps you can safely put into charging a battery depends on the battery arrays size and is measured in c’s. Long story short, 5 amps against a 800w battery is well within the safety margin. However, chemical batteries do better with a slower continuous trickle charge, so if you have the time, a slower charge at lower amps would be overall better. i think it is more of a mental exercise than building up your muscle memory. here are the steps that i usually teach to people and the success rate is quite acceptable: 1. how to start and stand on the unicycle without falling, minimal movement. 2. how to move forward and break, learn to control speed. Let them practice this for a bit, so they do this multiple times at low speeds. 3. how to turn - at this point they feel comfortable standing on it already.

    I'm 53, today is day 4 of learning to ride my first EUC (Begode RS high speed). They are not hard to ride, but they do take some learning so you do need to invest some time and effort to be able to ride one. This video shows a pretty good example of what a person goes through to get to where they can ride and even after this there would be plenty of practise needed to become comfortable. If you are learning - keep at it, everyone you see riding on youtube would have been just as new as you at one time.

    Did having the experience with an EUC help? :-)

      Not really. Because being turned sideways means that your forward and turning is 90 degrees off of an EUC. Where it did help was in the safety gear and respect for it being a vehicle. Without having ridden and EUC first, I suspect I might have gotten seriously hurt because being able to ride it so quickly would have encouraged me to treat it more as a toy then a 40 pound missile that also is missing basic safety features like auditable power level warnings.

      @@michaelpaolini yes, I’m thought it wouldn’t have :-) totally different riding styling. Still, the key word here is riding..! Let’s see if you catch the one wheel bug :-)

      @@thegoodrider8686 Not a chance - I've already gotten rid of it. Net Net the OneWheel is too much a death machine, and that before we talk about it being over priced and under performing. Ride them if you enjoy them cause they are fun, but make no mistake, given the choice everyone I know has chosen the EUC.

    So who’s the oldest person you have taught to ride one of these wheels ?? I have not seen one of these in my area yet ... but it sure does have my interest ... only two things hold me back ..65yo and a wife that freaks out at everything dangerous !!

      I think 72 is the oldest person I know of that learned. Also your wife is not wrong - these are motorized vehicles and can be dangerous. But that is what all the pads and protection gear is for.. :) To my mind the benefits outweigh the risks. In particular the core strength and strengthened stabilizer muscles and improved balance that are side effects of riding. These will serve you even when not riding. :-)
