Welcome to my channel!
Most of my content is about documenting my travels. It's quite an eclectic and slightly eccentric mix of content. I also enjoy flying my drone to get a seagull's perspective on the world! All of my recent content is in 4K resolution and I've tried to present it in an evocative way using big, epic backing tracks.
I am honing my videography skills and hope at some stage to show my face in my videos though I don't get enough likes as it is 😁
Anyway, I hope you enjoy what you see. Don't forget to hit the like button (I really appreciate a little encouragement) and subscribe so that you get notified of my next epic production.

A quick flight around the coast of Plymouth in the county of Devon in the UK. Photographed from a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom, this short movie shows Plymouth Hoe, including the iconic Smeaton's Tower, the Barbican to the east, Royal William Yard to the west and then a view from Plymouth Sound looking across Drake's Island back at Plymouth. There is also an aerial view of Brittany Ferries' Pont Aven as th...

It used to be famously for it's golden sands. Of course, it still is but now everyone goes on about how the G7 summit in 2021 took place nearby in neighbouring Carbis Bay!

Brittany Ferries' Pont Aven returned to Plymouth after 8 months and then went on to sail to Santander in Spain. It's good to see normality returning.

Very envious of that blue sky John! Hope you had a good Christmas. Linda K
@@lindakernot2455 The most un-Chrismas like Christmas ever, Linda. But I'm not complaining; it's as warm here as it looks with Christmas Day when I filmed this reaching 18 degrees C. Travelling back to the UK 30th December then back to work 2nd January 😭 Hope you had a good Christmas too.
Hi John, I work on the show Saving Lives at Sea. We're really interested in using some of your footage in our upcoming show. Would you be happy for us to use? Thanks!
You're welcome to. I would appreciate it if the footage could be credited to me but that's not a condition of you using it.
@@umbugnet Hi, that's great news thank you! Is there another way I can contact you? That was I can share more info and perhaps get the high res version if you still have it? Thanks
@@LilyCotelo Sure. umbugnet@gmail.com I think I have a 4K version on a hard drive at home. I'm at work right now but should be able to find it later.
Plymouth is epic
Pretty جميل
This seems to be a very charming city, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Thank you very much for your support. With lots of dark nights ahead of us (here in the northern hemisphere at least!) and winter drawing near, it is good to escape the gloom with travel videos. Santander is a small city. Whilst that means it lacks some of the amenities of places like neighbouring Bilbao, it also means it is largely unspoilt and also very safe and friendly. I certainly recommend a visit but if you're travelling far (I'm lucky...it is only 500 miles south of me across the Bay of Biscay) then you would probably want to visit as part of an itinerary to visit the rest of Spain and perhaps Portugal. Thanks again. I have returned the compliment and subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing your travels. John
Excellent....Got to see you lot sometime (if gigs ever happen again) ? I played the PBF in 2019.....Great crowd....Fenboys and girls !!!

I had never knew about 360 degree videos on TH-cam until this one. If the s instead of p after 720 hadn't caught my eye I'd never have known about moving the video round with the mouse!
Nigel2AB Thanks for watching! I took this on a Ricoh Theta S. It's better for stills really. Whilst the back-to-back fisheye lenses sit in front of a pair of sensors with a high pixel count, stretched around 360 degrees, limitations really show...especially on video. Very good fun though!
Yes it's a soft image but good to see something different. I think 360 degree videos would be a good use of 4K resolution (if there's a camera that does it).
Nigel2AB At the last Bristol Balloon Fiesta in August, I saw someone walking around with 4 GoPros, each at 90 degrees to one another mounted on the top of a monopod. That was probably capable of 4K though you're talking about some lengthy post-filming processing to stitch the images together and then a huge file size! I reckon the next big thing Nigel will be 4K all onboard (so it creates your image real-time like my lower res Ricoh) and perhaps even a pair of such cameras mounted side by side...to give you 360 degree in 3D through something like Google Cardboard! Now that would be pretty amazing.
Then we need a spherical television to sit inside to watch it (on a swivel chair)... Seriously though, I agree a pair of 4k cameras would give good results.
