เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 พ.ค. 2019
There is great beauty in living organisms and in the curiosity-driven quest to understand them. The mission of The Explorer’s Guide to Biology (XBio) is to create a free learning resource that emphasizes the wonders of life and the problem-solving nature of science.
Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium
Populations, even human ones, evolve and this means that the allele frequency of genes change over time. Scientists use the Hardy-Weinberg equation to test if a population or gene pool is in equilibrium, or if external forces are causing genetic variation in the population to change.

Neurobiology
มุมมอง 16Kปีที่แล้ว
This whiteboard video gives a basic overview of the concept of Neurobiology including the basic structure of neurons, how they communicate with one another and how they come together to form the nervous system.
How to Design a Good Experiment
มุมมอง 15Kปีที่แล้ว
Scientific progress is about pushing the barriers of what we know about how the world works. This happens by looking at data from experiments. Experiments are designed to test a hypothesis. However, new discoveries are only meaningful if we make sure we do a good experiment!

Heredity Part 1: Genes and Traits
มุมมอง 214ปีที่แล้ว
Dr. Mike Walter describes the history of heredity as well as the fundamental process of how the basic units of heredity known as "genes" translate into the expression of a trait in an organism.

Dr. Mike Walter describes his background as well as the scientific journey that led him to become the Senior Director of the Explorer's Guide to Biology.
Heredity Part 2: Pedigrees and Evolution
มุมมอง 171ปีที่แล้ว
Dr. Mike Walter describes what a pedigree is and how geneticist use pedigrees to study how genetic information is passed down through families. He also discusses how heredity is inextricably linked with the process of evolution.

If that were true we would not have a problem of flooded rice paddies recovering. Your experiment does not include totally submerged rice stalks as a result of strong winds during a tyohoon.
This is a good explanation, thank you!
Azt does not work!
Clear and to the point. Thank you
But in the example of cow population, the genotype frequency of parent and progenies are not same, then how the population can be in hardy weinberg equilibrium?
hiv immune to azt is like a printer that's immune to jamming😂
You are doing a great job!
You have a gift. Keep it up!
thats a guitar pic lol

❤❤❤ excellent
turn the music down i cant hear you
Thank you for this video. I just found out about his research and I’m binging info on it.
This video was of particular interest to me, a data science student planning to choose the bioinformatics track. For my whole life, I've been interested in biology, and I believe that combining biology with math and computer science does produce an amazingly interesting field of bioinformatics. The researchers in the field, also called bioinformaticians, develop methods and software tools to understand biological data, such as decoding the human genome and analyzing its similarities with animals' genomes. Moreover, bioinformatics-related technologies can also provide insights into differences between humans' DNA, thus enabling us to better understand human diseases, such as diabetes or cancer. Overall, it's crucial to continue developing databases related to this interdisciplinary field to make new fascinating discoveries that might advance medical research to a new level.
Dna is always divided into sections or separate molecules and each one condenses to form chromatin fibre. Right? Or is there a point where dna or chromatin is continous throughout nucleus?
Thanks a lot! This video is extremely clear and interesting, it helped me a lot ^^

This is amazing, I would've never believed this annoying and difficult part of transcription can be broken down so simply
Sooo informative ❤
Just wanna say..Thnku❤
Thanks . ❤

This is so helpful to help me better understand the subject explained in A Level Maths, thank you!
Great video
thanks
Good explanation.
Thank you ❤
amazing, great voice, great content, very straightforward. i was so confused when i read abt this experiment in bio books. thanks to ur vid now i got it <3
Really terrible video
Nobody loves you?
Wow i an also left handed man nice to meet u and i understood very well best class
Really helpful and well explained👍
The music is putting me to sleep
Thank you very clear
Very good video, finally I got it!!!! thanks :)
How long can this process take? Would I see any results if I tried at home? I want to breed more temperature-resistant basil and spinach 🥲
Multiple years just keep doing it every year
best explanation on splicing ever! thank youuuu
thanks! summarized everything perfectly
Very easy to follow, thank you!
What a clever way to explain this, thanks for the video!
thanks for this. studying neuroscience for fun after hating chemistry and biology in school :D
Amazing!
Just what I was looking for. Thanks
it is not nature that came out with this , Allah soubhanaho wa taala is the one who created this
