Just stumbled on your video/channel. Great setup! Ya, it's frustrating that working with utilities is so difficult! Question: Seems like a LOT of solar for a relatively small house. How much total solar do you have, do you want to end-up with, and why so much?

Have you tried pushing the armrest forward? It will slide forward about 4 inches (you can't open the storage unless you push it back) but that might help you. (At least this works on 2017 to 2020 models.

Not sure where you’re located, but I’m in the Pacific Northwest and winter is a disaster! My energy output drops about 80% during December and January. November and February are about 50 to 60% drop. Where it really makes a difference is the other eight months where I’m totally off grid! What can you expect when you live in the northwest corner of the US and the sun is low and the days are short! The trick for the winter is to runoff solar during the day and use the grid at night. Also, it’s best if you use an electric blanket or wear extra clothes. The next thing you can do is to insulate your home very well. 🖖

Thanks, that gives me hope for the summer 🌞 good tip on the electric blanket, I need to put it back out

@@pwpev I recently bought a different blanket cover from a company called OneTigris, and you don’t need to plug it in for any electricity, and it works great!

Those moaning about the Bolts charging speed have no imagination and ability to multitask. When charging, consider taking and nap, hitting the loo, walk the dog (or your dogs) , read a book, better yet, the owners Manual, or organize your purse or wallet. You'll find yourself looking forward to fast charging, sessions even if they're not very fast just to get the other things done.

Agree, it's all about the mindset on the trip, It's my only complaint about the car but not that bad to work-around. I think Chevy doesn't do themselves any favors in the marketing making it sound better than it is. We have road tripped it but as long as you do a bit of planning it's great with the kids.

I have the same inverter with 14 400 watt panels. Originally I had 10 panels on one string on a lower 4/12 pitch roof and added 4 more panels at the same azimuth but a 8/12 pitch roof section. I had some early morning shade from trees and a roof ridge that clipped some of the potential and some clipping late in the day from another roof ridge, but got fairly close to what PVWatts predicted in August and September. After that I started getting more and more clipping of the sun from very large pine trees in the back of my property. In retrospect I should have used SunQuest phone app to track the sun from the panel locations and would have surmised the need to place the panels near the top of the roof for better fall, winter, and spring performance. I broke the panels up into two strings of 10 and 4 and got some improved performance but still way below PVWatts. Based on feedback from Growatt, I broke the bottom 10 panels into two strings of 5 panels each and have the upper 4 panels on a third string to get the voltages more even between strings. Again, some modest improvement but still not stellar performance in winter months. I’d benefit more by moving some panels further up the roof or buying some more panels. I’ll see how the system performs this year and will mostly add more panels later in the year.

For those who purchased these unit, please check all wires connection prior to plugging in the to your 10-30, 14-50 dryer outlet. There are some quality issues in torqueing down the screws after manufacturing assemly. Mine had the red wire loose and fallen off from its screw hold on the secondary plug receptical and the capacitor "C17" on the main board lead pin broken off. I can only suspect the capacitor got pinched between a thick wire and switching relay during assembly...Good luck and be safe.

Any update on your application of this product? I’m thinking about picking one up for my garage since I have 2 different EVSEs, one to charge a Tesla and the other to charge our Pacifica eHybrid. Any specific reason you are wanting to hardwire it other than maybe you don’t have a 14-50 receptacle already in your garage like I do?
