This is really good! Can’t understand why you has’nt got more views
But like. What you’re saying doesn’t make any sense?? I can’t tell if you’re agreeing with people who are saying you’re using circular logic or you’re not agreeing with them. Because… ya just used circular logic. You said people have different opinions on what is a good foundation for a belief is. But you said your book is a good foundation…. Because you “know it’s true”. And you can “sense it” Aka.i know the Bible is true. Because I believe the Bible is true. That’s not evidence. That’s arrogance People make this argument because they want ACTUAL evidence for the FACTS of the Bible. and to gauge on how BELIEVABLE it is. So they can make a decision. And not waste there entire life believing in something that doesn’t exist. What you’re saying is not evidence. Which results in you… using the Bible. To defend the Bible. Or in this specific clip. Using your feelings to defend the Bible. I’m really not trying to be rude. You both seem very kind. And tbh I’d like the Bible to be real. I would love it. But as someone like me. I just can’t because the evidence is nonexistent in my specific belief in reality Than yours. It’s not that I “crave to sin” like a lot of Christians claim. It’s that I literally do not believe that god exists.
Very helpful
Deuteronomy 18:9-12 New International Version Occult Practices 9 When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.
Hello 👋 thanks for sharing on this topic. I agree with the idea in general, but do feel there at exceptions to the rule when it comes to upholding righteous principles. Just wanted to share account from the Old testament on this topic "The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, “Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?” The midwives answered Pharaoh, “Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.” So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. Exodus 1:15-21 NIV

How can a person praise God when a loved one to all intents and purposes wasn't saved at death? If that is the case, there will be no reunion after death. I can't give thanks for a relative ending up in hell!!!
Innocent means righteous
Animals have spirit and have tons of it. But Spirit and Souls are not the same thing. They have everything to do with each other, but the Soul is the Container for the Spirit. Be careful the Spirit you let in you Soul. If pets have a Soul, it would be their owners Soul, their spirit belongs to. The feelings of an animal would be considered spirit, not Soul. As long as the owner of the pet goes to heaven, the memories of your pets will be with you. That alone will keep them alive. And they will be as real as they ever was.
Children are born innocent
Basically what your saying is if your abandoned. You still can't marry till you have some kind of evidence that the other person has committed fornication? That would mean if you were abandoned and tried everything with the church etc and the person leaving is an introvert with no interest in dating etc. Your facing celibacy for rest of your life. Did I understand that right?
Hi James - thanks for your question! The text of Matthew 19:9 says "Whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery." (ESV) There isn't a statement there on timing, or on personality types, etc. If the partner that leaves is choosing to live a life of celibacy, the partner that has been left doesn't meet that standard from that verse, and would therefore be committing adultery to remarry, which would be sinful. Hope this makes sense! If you'd like to talk more about it, feel free to email us at info@faithbibleoc.org. Thanks!
@@bibleslashchat what about 1 Corinthians 7:15
@@JamesWFisher22 Yeah - that's a great question! We address that in the video. Paul specifically says 'the brother or sister is NOT BOUND (enslaved, ESV)'. Now, that could mean, 'bound to remain single' - in other words, that brother or sister can remarry if they are abandoned. However, if that were Paul's meaning, it would contradict Christ's statement in Matthew 19:9. So we would say that Paul means 'not bound in the marriage'. In other words, Paul is saying that a brother or sister is not enslaved to the marriage covenant. They can let the unbelieving spouse depart, and do not have to slavishly follow them. When the two verses are allowed to function together, they offer the standard that a brother or sister who is married to an unbeliever may get a divorce when that unbeliever departs (1 Cor 7:15). However, if that unbeliever chooses to remain celibate, that brother or sister cannot remarry (Matt 19:9). If the unbeliever chooses to commit adultery, the brother or sister may remarry. In the case of two believers, however, 1 Cor 7:15 does not apply. Hope this is helpful!
Here's what Christians REFUSE to understand. In most situations, one person in the couple did NOT WANT to get a divorce. They had divorce inflicted upon them. But at the end of the day, they are now labeled "divorced"--to be shunned or tossed out of some churches (heedless of the fact that God is a divorced person and not allowed in those churches, either.) I've sat in lectures by married MEN that spent the entire time BASHING those people...people who have already suffered enough. But you guys don't care to make that distinction. You have your standards. And zero compassion. Second, you seem unable to understand that there are two words used: Apoluo, sent away, dismissed. And Apostacion, a formal separation. God sent Israel away AND gave them a writ of divorce. Two different actions. What was happening was the men were simply turning the women out. That meant that they could not legally get on with their lives. They might find a man, but now they were illegal AND she might get pregnant and then her husband could come drag her back home. Now that caused all manner of problems as you can see. The third thing that Xtians refuse to understand is that if Jesus said you could divorce in the case of adultery, he VIOLATED Torah. Adulterers were to be STONED to death--not divorced. (And plz don't trot out the woman taken in adultery; they didn't bring the MAN also to Jesus so they had no choice but to let her go. To say nothing of the fact that the story was interpolated later.) And since sin is transgression of the law (1 John 3:4) he would not have been a sinless sacrifice. So I call BS.

You're certainly right when you say at the end that "it's not easy" as a subject. I've dove deeply into this years ago to find the answer, and I have to say I didn't really like what I found. The video was a little disappointing given the title, "What does the Bible say about slavery". Since not one Bible verse was read, and only two things really even referenced. Kidnapping and slave traders. The Bible has a lot to say about slavery, but we didn't really hear any of it here. The Bible does in fact condone slavery, and despite your statement to the contrary, never condemns it. Anywhere. You don't have to go much further than Leviticus 25:44-46 which says "As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be you property. You may bequeath them to you sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly" That's the Bible specifically condoning chattel slavery. And in that basic sense, it was the same as American chattel slavery. A person owned as property for their entire lives. The rules around it and the sources of the slaves were different for sure, but both were still chattel slavery regardless. And that's the issue. Not the rules around it. Does slavery somehow become ok if the person wasn't kidnapped? No. Does slavery somehow become ok if the person wasn't purchased from a slave trader? No. Does slavery somehow become ok if the person is treated "well"? No. Chattel slavery is always wrong, don't you agree? You said so at the beginning of the video. I'll add that God Himself ordered the enslavement of people in Deuteronomy. That even goes beyond condoning and into ordering. The OT was fine with the Israelites owning chattel slaves, so long as they weren't your fellow Hebrews. The had to be foreigners. And I'm sorry, but a prohibition against kidnapping is not a condemnation of slavery. It's a condemnation of kidnapping. And a condemnation of slave traders is not a condemnation against slavery either. It's a condemnation of slave traders. Many times slave traders would kidnap people to meet demand. They weren't good people. You had to acquire your chattel slaves Biblically. But you could buy and own them. Your statement that "We have more than sufficient Biblical grounds to condemn chattel slavery" just isn't supported Biblically. The specific verses in the Bible about chattel slavery condone it. And there is no verse that condemns it. And that has always been my problem. Hope that helps?

Very helpful, thanks Jason and Jon!
USA! USA! USA!
5:14 - Jason, very disappointing.
Excellent...finally someone who makes clear what the historical Christian Faith teaches. I sure hope this video circulates because there is a type of "functional" kenotic Christology (a teaching that in some way depotentiates Jesus to some degree, such as saying He didn't know everything) that has infected Evangelicalism. And I don't mean just in the pew, or even just from the pulpit, but even well known seminaries and well known theologians. It is even in many commentaries. Here's the thing...this new heresy is incompatible with not only historic doctrines of the incarnation, but with the doctrine of the Trinity and its corollary doctrines as well (such as immutability which you referred to). Again, good job, I'm not sure you realize how important this topic is for today.
