Caleb Williams will Solve the Bears’ QB Crisis
The Chicago Bears may finally break out of QB purgatory by picking Caleb Williams in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Bears have had a tremendous last two offseasons in preparation for a competitive quarterback to replace Justin Fields, and Williams is set up for Day 1 success, which would cement him into Bears royalty.

Caleb Williams upside ceiling is Kyler Murray. I see more of Baker Mayfield like career as a pro. Caleb has many of the weakness's Justin Fields has but will come in with better coaches and 3 times number of weapons. However, O-line will remain a weak and since Williams has shown the same issues Fields did with pressure Williams struggle because Williams doesn't have the freak athleticism Fields had. The Bears will win 6-9 games this season.

This is a funny joke. You gave me a laugh. One: Williams held on the ball due to hero play, secondly, his weapons were poor at USC, thirdly, the bears have a very easy schedule.

@@obvioustrollthatbaitedyou5036 First off... Coming out of college both Fields and Williams played hero ball and in QB friendly run and shoot offenses. So, they both held on the ball longer. Yet, Williams gets a clean slate even though he held on the ball longer, took more sacks and turnovers pretty much the same. Again we expect Williams to magically flip the script and to better without evidence. Here are the Caleb Williams and Justin Fields averages per game starts in college: Comp ATT Yds CMP% TD INT SK RTG QBR CAR Yds Avg TD LNG FUM FL 17.43 25.5 238.9 68.30% 2.82 0.39 2.3 187.69 85.4 9.78 42.04 4.3 0.74 51 0.6 0.3 21.44 32 293.5 67% 2.67 0.41 2.38 171.61 83.23 8.17 26.4 3.23 0.82 66 0.5 0.15 Caleb Williams has a 24-10 win/loss record with 4-9 recorded versus ranked opponents. Justin Fields has a 21-2 win/loss record with 9-2 recorded versus ranked opponents. Poor weapons... that's funny because isn't that the same argument you discount from Fields supporters? Top Rushers over 500 yards USC Marshawn Lloyd - 11 games 116 carries 820 yds 7.1 avg 9 TD (Drafted and will be GB second string RB) Austin Jones - 13 games 85 carries 477 yds 5.6 avg 7 TD Top Receivers over 500 yards USC Tahj Washington - 13 games 59 rec 1062 yds 18.0 avg 8 TD (Drafted) Brenden Rice - 12 games 45 rec 791 yds 17.6 avg 12TD (Drafted) TE Robinson - 11 games 16 rec 351 yds 21.9 avg 2 TD - No.1 #TE recruit Zachariah Branch 11 games 31 rec 320 yds 10.3 avg 2 TD - No.1 #WR recruit Mario Williams 12 games 29 rec 305 yds 10.5 avg 2 TD - was a higher ranked prospect than MHJ in the same year. Dorian Singer 13 games 24 rec 289 yds 12.0 avg 3 TD - ARI transfer who had 1,000+ yard previous year. Second the Kliff Kingsbury and Lincoln Riley are proven to really good offensive minds and QB whisperer. Caleb had far more talent than the media gives USC. Why don't look at the Bowl Game when the back-up breaks records against a top 15 ranked team. Yet this is an excuse for Caleb... while Fields is given a bottom 3rd O-line, Receiving core, coaches and it's not? The Bear second best o-line Darnell Wright gave up 55 pressures... 4 of the top 5 WR had a drop rate of +13%. PFF ranked the Bears pass blocking 26th and the ranked the Bears 32nd with the amount of above average weapons with only 2 (Moore and Kmet) PFF also ranked Darnell Mooney 107th of 128 top receivers and Tyler Scott 115th top receiver. Tonyan ranked 63rd out of 72 TE's. A OC that was given a 27th ranking at play calling. When the Caleb has the same issues coming out of college how and why do you expect for him to be a world beater when he struggles to win against the PAC-12 in college? Third... Yes the schedule is weaker but there are many unproven factors that assume the Bears will be a playoff team. 1. Will the new coordinators gel, be better at developing players and create a good game plan to be successful team? 2. Will both lines improve from being bottom 3rd lines in the league to average or above average? Again, the Bears O-line is good at pass blocking but the Bears top RB Forman and best rusher in Fields are not there. They are 26th in pass blocking and they only added a back-up in Bates and journeyman Center in Shelton. There is only 1 stud D-lineman... will someone else develop into the 2nd pass-rusher. 3. Head Coach... Eberflus had several miscues last with going for it or not and too slow at making adjustments? I don't see Eberflus as a Super Bowl winning coach. 4. Rookie QB... a large portion of Williams game will not translate in the pros. How fast is he able to NFL game? How many QB's have you seen being compared to Mahomes and be successful. These are just 4 areas of many to overcome.

Seen side by side like this one can see th-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/w-d-xo.html that the other QB is a more accurate passer _as well as_ a better rusher. It's not even close. Why haven't we heard of this? Well, does anyone think that when media spews a meme like "he's a Generational Talent" that they go back & check to make sure they're correct? Well, they didn't. @ChewsCarefully หลายเดือนก่อน

@@philipsummerfield4066 "the improvisational skills of Caleb aren’t something you can cut together with any other qb in this draft class." 1) We're discussing Fields & Williams only. Fields isn't in this draft class, & his improvisational skills have been tested more thoroughly than Caleb's. Fields has had to do this _in the _*_NFL!_* & has shown himself better at that too. I'll save you the trouble of looking it up. I use a video from week one of '23 because it not only shows this. The 1st 23 minutes of th-cam.com/video/FiiK21VzI_o/w-d-xo.html shows how his own o-line deliberately sabotage him. Count how many individual pass-rushers his own teammates run away from instead of block in just that 1st 23 minutes. The play at 22:45 is _really_ something. Even Evan Neal *gets his hands on* the players he fails to block. _NO ONE has had to improvise more than Fields. Had Tom Brady been back there, his career would have ended in That Game. 2) "but the new generation of great QBs like Rodgers and Mahomes is something that JD will never be." How do you know? Rodgers lasted 4 snaps without a decent o-line. Fields', as I just showed Video Evidence Of has a far worse one yet still manages to hit his receivers in their hands when he does have a chance to throw passes. Funny, no one blames Mahomes for Toney dropping all those passes. Yet here you are saying _Fields_ is somehow no good despite hitting his receivers perfectly. Aren't those The Things that make Mahomes & Rodgers great, their accuracy? Again & again I run into this: Fields has the same traits as other great QBs. But for some reason when their teammates fail them, they never get the blame & when Fields' do, it's always _him_ who is. Always. Why _is_ that?

I don't believe that the chart you showed at 8.35 _OR_ the eye test is *_EVER_** used by anyone* in the NFL. Humans don't behave rationally much as individuals. When they associate in groups, the group Will Seek a consensus. Any chart stats risk proving the consensus wrong. The very reason I chose this name is because once a person decides something it takes root in their subconscious (SC). Things become rooted in the SC through fear, intimidation & Group-Think as well as repetition. We don't have separate areas for math & belief. The instant you think that what everyone is saying aloud must have some rational backing for it, your SC will allow this doubt-induced non-fact to become rooted exactly the same place where "2+2=4" & "Whites Are Superior" reside. Here's a perfect example. Not only does th-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/w-d-xo.html show Fields' college highlights are _WAY better_ than Caleb Williams', had that chart been applied properly he'd have been drafted #1. His passes hit his receivers in the hands Every Time without them ever having to reach for them or slow down. Plus they're low-flying missiles. No way did anyone apply that chart or eye-test properly & not think *he* was Generational. No time for defenders to break on the ball. The problems here are several, one SC one being he's an outlier. The SC _HATES_ outliers or anything Not Already Known. It seeks Only Patterns hence the popularity _of_ group-think. It follows predictable patterns too & hates anything unfamiliar. So people made up "reasons" not to draft him first not because he wasn't great, but because their SC felt uncomfortable _with_ his greatness. Caleb's is more like a textbook copy of him. His talents are a little less outside the norm plus they've already seen Fields now. So *_his_** skill set* wasn't outside the norm when seen for the first time. Same with Lamar. Good video overall, but I'll need to re-listen. Based on the comments you Made Statements where I only heard you refer to typical tendencies. See? If I just conformed to what the majority said, I wouldn't give you another chance.

Ikr? Bo Nix is being dismissed because he had 2 bad years under a coach who hated him. He progressed past that. It's the case of 'there can only be one.' People want to hang their hopes on politicians celebrities & athletes but worry too much about making the Wrong Choice. So when they can't find something wrong they'll invent it to satisfy not choosing them. The best examples I can think of all involve Justin Fields but I'll use one:"he can't read defenses." As was proven with stats th-cam.com/video/QuhUbISnr8s/w-d-xo.html as well as tracing the rumors to their source it was 100% fabricated. Never had any merit. Everything being said against him ever since stemmed from that one false meme.

So, lets talk about his first career start in KC. The Packers found out Rodgers wasn't going to play Wednesday morning. That's after the game plan has been finalized and they've already moved on to installation. They had no choice but to either use the Rodgers game plan with Love or scrap the game plan and wing it. Adams did play, but he also just came back from Covid and could barely breathe. Love actually outplayed Mahomes in that game and they lost by 6 with their special teams singled handedly swinging the game 9 points in KCs favor.

The Packers are loaded with young receivers and tight ends. For talented receivers you have Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton. At tight end they have Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims. Running back is the biggest need for the offense with Aaron Jones not being healthy for a good chunk of the season but when healthy was a massive dual threat, AJ Dillon being gone and Emanuel Wilson being a massive question mark.

I think your point about needing a top receiver is wrong. I think the number of good receivers allowed Love to through to who was open instead of forcing it to WR1. I think the diversity of receiving core really helped Loves sucess

You don't even know how to say Doubs name. Its Dobs - you know how they pronounced it during every game for the last two years. Wtf do you know about the Packers if you clearly haven't watched them enough to know about this. His name is currently our litmus test and you somehow failed.

I really think giving love a 10 year deal like the chiefs did with Mahomes (not comparing how they play only the contracts) team friendly and ready to win so he can shake the A. Rod shadow off his back. But who knows maybe we'll do a 4 year deal and see what we have first
