Microwavable Popcorn Bag Tutorial (For REAL)
มุมมอง 29K4 ปีที่แล้ว
It took some effort and the better part of the day, but here it is! Please be patient as this is our first tutorial and there is a learning curve for sure. We promise to keep getting better. Thanks for being such awesome supporters of us and our dream of owning a quilt shop!
Gift Box Tutorial.... Ruined.
มุมมอง 3774 ปีที่แล้ว
It must be said that Sarea has actually made several of these gift boxes. We have NO idea why we are unable to make these tutorial videos without messing up in a big way! The plan is for Sarea to get really good at video editing ASAP!
Girls Watching Their Bloopers
มุมมอง 1324 ปีที่แล้ว
Bonnie got video of the girls watching the attempted instructional video... If you are wondering why they keep moving thier mouths around, it's because they were eating the popcorn. The shop was technically 'closed', but Sarea had forgotten that they had a patron who was on the way with her daughter!
Cuttin' Up Quilt Studio Blooper Reel #1

The ONLY thing I can say is...It's been a long, laughter filled day! These are the outtakes from the FIRST video attempt. You will want to watch it more than once! Thanks for supporting us despite our most obvious shortcomings.
I accidentally ran into this video. I really enjoyed it and may try it sometime!!
So I originally watched a different tutorial but lost it. I like your tutorial! One thing I learned differently is to place the bag seam side down to pop. Have you tried that? Also to use 1/4 -1/3 cup kernels. One topping we really like is Truffle Oil and fresh grated Parmesan cheese!!!
It’s refreshing not having music. Usually people use terrible music.
Snake river by Judy Martin
What is the name of the quilt on the way behind you? Many thanks for the info
If you start sewing toward the corner, you can sew all the way around to where the hole is. ❤
Is there any to put the bottom flaps between the fabric layers so you can't see them ?
What size marshmallows do you use for the caramel popcorn?
you use the regular size ones
Great! TFS I'm going to make one for my kids!
Beautiful job!!!! I love this. ❤ perfect. I wouldn’t want it any other way 🙏🙏🙏🥳
Will you be doing more videos??
Thank you! I love how you go through the whole process from start to finish. I bought one of these as a gift for my son. It had popcorn in a little container already. But it is smaller and you can only do a 1/4 cup. So I'm going to make my self a few for the house and for Christmas gifts. Just for fun.
Am I the only one who sometimes sews around without pinning?
I love this!! thank you
What is the name of that quilt hanging in the background, and do you have a video about it? Thanks!
Mine ended up smoldering in the microwave and I used everything cotton.😢
Going on my Christmas list. Thanks for your video tutorial😊
That was awesome!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
I love this. I immediately looked at all my thread stash and saw that they were a common cotton/polyester blend! I will need to go to the store and buy all cotton stuff, then will definitely make this! Microwave popcorn you buy in a bag tastes terrible. This is the way to go, and healthier.
you gals are funny.... thanks for the tutorial
My friend gave us popcorn bags for Christmas made from your pattern. I am now watching, learning & making my own for gifts. Spreading the joy. Thank you.
Thank you ❤
I Loved your video. But I missed the size of the fabric. Please tell me the size.
If it gets dirty..Ok to throw it in the washer with towels, wash, dry and reuse? or anything in specific on washing?
Love your video ! Can’t wait to try this. I’m a new subscriber and can’t wait to watch more of your videos. Keep them coming 😊
great video tutorial!!! Love it plain n simple with no fancy equipment needed.
Thank you! We need to make some more of these for sure.
Great video! I have made several of these and absolutely love them! Thank you 😊
That's awesome Teresa! Thanks for the feedback.
Great tutorial
Thanks Nancy! We are going to try and get more videos out!
Maybe a bottle cozy
I know, I was mortified! LOL
How come you dont need batting
The popcorn heats up just fine because of the microwave, give it a try and let us know what you think!
What a blessing. I am 70 years old missing all the projects my family could of been involved in.
Hey Gary, Thanks for watching. Send us an email with your address. cqsm19@gmail.com
I loved your instructions. Made several bags for gifts. Please advise this challenge: the bag scorched and subsequently burned in the corner where the flaps were sewn down. Thoughts? Also, do you periodically wash the fabric bag? If so, by hand or machine wash?
Wash after every use. No fabric softener.
What kind of little iron are you using?
www.cuttinupquiltstudio.com/shop/c/p/The-Mighty-Travel-Iron-x45160145.htm We used the Mighty Travel Iron, it is so handy to have next to your machine.
Thanks for showing the finished product
Best wishes ladies with your videos. I hit subscribe and I hit save😀
Muy ingenioso sobre todo para hacer diferentes para varios niños gracias por compartir.
Made this bag. Great instructions. Easy to follow. I made this for my mom. She transferred it to another bowl to add butter and salt. She used only 1/2 cup of popcorn but there was a lot of unpopped kernels. When she added it back to the bag to finish popping. The corners of the bag burned. I assume that was the butter and salt. Suggestions on why not all the kernels were popped?
Hey Leea, thanks for the feedback! There are a couple reasons they might not have popped… First of all, you need to let the popcorn continue to pop until you are hearing 2-3 seconds between pops. (Be careful because if you don’t catch it they will burn and no one likes burnt popcorn besides raccoons) Second, the water content in the kernel is what makes it pop, if your popcorn isn’t stored correctly, is a little old or gets dried out, that can prevent the popping. You can soak the kernels for 15 min, pat them dry and see if that helps. If it burned the bag on the second go around, it was most likely the butter that caused it. I hope this helps, I am a huge connoisseur of popcorn, but that doesn’t make me an expert.
I made this last night and popped corn for 2 minutes and half. my bag and popcorn burnt
I am sorry to hear that, usually if that happens, the fabric or the thread wasn’t 100% cotton. A poly cotton blend will not work, only 100% cotton.
@@cuttinupquiltstudio3992 my fabric and thread is 100% cotton - 1/2 cup kernals, popcorn setting, 1/4 c did not pop, and corner of bag burnt - ?
This is adorable
Thank you I will try this tomorrow. Got too many chores to do today. Great idea.
Love this, we made one tonight and its amazing!!
These would be great stocking stuffer gifts!
You ladies are so entertaining and talented too. Just found your channel. NEW SUBSCRIBER!
Love it 🥰 Thanks for sharing can’t wait to make it
Great video and really - really appreciated that you didn’t have loud music in the background ...
Thanks Marilyn! We hope to create more videos soon!
My bag gets too hot in the microwave and burned up once! Had it in less then 2 minutes
Are you sure all of your supplies were100% cotton? I hope no one was hurt. I haven’t heard of that happening .
@@cuttinupquiltstudio3992 , i realized after i wrote this and saw your video that I didn’t look at the thread correctly and picked a non cotton!!!! Oops! Ha! I’m trying again.
Let us know how it turns out!!!!
Just had this video pop up . I love sewing. Worked for House Of Fabrics twice in the 1970s. Cant wait to make this item. God bless you all.
And it is a lovely machine!
Lovely idea. Thank you.
