Once a time, there was someone named Jared. Jared is 29, is a nice guy, he had a girlfriend and still had both of his parents. But one time when he came back from a night shift, there was someone under a street lamp, smoking a cigarette, singing a slow tune. Jared liked this tune. Though his gut told him not to approach this person, he still did. He asked him what his name was and what tune he was singing. The person replied "My name is Mio." "What's yours?" Jared replied "My name is Jared, It's nice meeting you, Mio." Mio told Jared "I constructed this tune myself, do you like it?" Jared replied "Yes I do, you should make a song out of it." Mio replied "Alright, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks. It was nice meeting you, Jared." Jared replied "You too." Jared started walking home, playing Mio's tune in his head repeatedly. Jared came home that night and cuddled with his girlfriend in bed, and hardly went to sleep because of the tune. Nothing really happened that week besides him meeting Mio. After this week, Jared needed to work more night shifts, which drained him. He started hearing the tune again while going to copy some papers (Jared works an office job) and then the 3rd day after working the night shift, he began hallucinating. After all, he hardly slept. He has insomnia so It's even worse for his health. He hallucinated seeing Mio again in the dark halls of the building he was working in. But this time Mio was visually different. He had a sort of darkness surrounding him. Jared turned on the lights in the hall, and Mio disappeared. Jared shook his head and went to the bathroom to throw a bit of water on his face. He returned to copying the papers, went to his desk and finished the shift. The next day, Jared was late arriving at his job. The manager went to tell him to be on time the next time. Jared tried explaining that he couldn't sleep so good so he couldn't do night shifts anymore because it was draining. The manager told him he has no choice and he's done with night shifts after 2 days. Jared was disappointed, but he had to work these night shifts and it would be over soon. After 1 day, he started hallucinating like crazy. It was like a fever dream. He even started questioning reality because of these hallucinations. But he continued. He worked off the day, was on the way home until, he met Mio again. The same exact spot and the same exact time. Jared walked over to Mio and spoke to him "Is that you, Mio?" Mio responded "Yes, It's me." Jared was surprised to see him again. Jared spoke "How have you been doing?" Mio responded "I have been good. I see you're not stable, have you been sleeping good?" Jared responded "Not really, I have insomnia, and can't sleep at all most of the time." Mio said "Take these, it helps you sleep." Mio gives him some sort of unknown pills. Jared responded "I haven't seen these yet, are they new?" Mio responded "Yeah, It was made just a week ago" Jared responded "Alright, thank you. I have to go. Ciao" Mio said "It was good seeing you, Jared. Ciao" While Jared walked away, Mio said something. Jared couldn't make out what he said, so he turned around only for Mio not to be there anymore. So, Jared went home. He couldn't sleep, so he looked at the pills on his wardrobe, and took them. Then, after 5 minutes he fell asleep. Jared slept really, really good. Then, he completed his work on his final day of night shifts. He packed up his stuff and walked home. In the far distance, he saw Mio at the pole again. As he got closer, he started feeling a burning sensation in his head and heart. And when he was 5 feet in front of Mio, he collapsed. After a couple of hours he found himself in a dark room, chained to pipes. Mio walked in front of him, saying to him "Enjoyed those pills?" In a laughing tone. Jared looked surprised to see Mio. He asked "Why am I here, why are you here? What are you gonna do to me?"
