I love watching your videos, only wish they were longer. I know you have time constraints. Your attention to detail and doing things right is great to say. Well done. Mark
Glad you like them! Thank you Mark
What are your future plans for removing all the filth from the lower stone walls?
Initially, a wire brush, but if that doesn’t work, then I’ll sandblast.
Being all that dust and spores from the hay that can go into your lungs you should wear a full mask and glasses to protect your eyes. Great job I love the new veg garden that was made.
Thanks Morag. I’ve got much better masks now.
I’m so glad that the medicine worked for you‼️👏🏻‼️👏🏻‼️👏🏻‼️👏🏻 I itch my skin off from mosquito bites, so I understand the itch part‼️‼️‼️ I dig holes in my skin about .5 cm x 1cm from EACH bite‼️‼️‼️‼️FYI: my throat constricts/closes up from to my bites. I have to then take a needle w adrenaline in it,,,,, I have almost every single side effect to the adrenaline medicine when I have to take it.☹️😕 Later (@ least a month) when the bumps go down it have a big craters and then @ scars. The scars are embarrassing because ppl stare at you. The scars take at least 2 years to go away‼️😡‼️
You need a resirpator mask on‼️😡‼️. That won’t protect your 🫁 good enough‼️‼️
🔥 bonfire‼️‼️‼️. The nat geos are worth money 💰
But worth more sentimentally, Cindy.
I was the winner at the national music festival in kenya
Well done Eunice. Great to hear.
Nimmt langsam Vorm an Super :-)
Thanks Hans
I just discovered that you are a musical family, and what a discovery, Wow, fantastic. You are all brillant. Bravo. I'll be following you even closer . ❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much
Well done!
Thanks, Susan.
Great progress. I'm tired just watching. What fun it must be to see your handiwork going in.
It really is!
Did you switch to Torx? Great job getting them all in! Well done.
Not yet, I haven’t been out to the shop yet, but will get some for the next lot.
what's the name of that beautiful music at the end of the your vidéo please (if it's possible ) ❤❤
Do you mean the guitar piece, or the music right at the end?
The music with the whistling, it's just beautiful, thank you so much , 🤞🤞🤞❤❤❤
The music right At the end ????????? ❤❤
Fit the joist hangers first
Thanks Richard. I chose to do it that way as they are Claire’s out and struggled to get them lined up when I tried to fit them to the beam first. I’ll have another go next time.
*Flair out
It’s a good practice to wet the stone around the gap you are filling so that the mortar doesn’t dry too fast
Good editing! I was just about to hit highspeed, when you put it on timelapse. Perfect!
Thanks! 👍
Sure thing! I’m no professional myself. I was always happy with advice when doing projects. Looking forward to see the results!!
Thanks Covan
you might want to use torx screws. less risk of damaging the screw heads and your bit.
Thank you
Torx is the way to go, phillips is annoying and obsolete. And i would also use longer screws. Oh, and get bits from würth, they make a huge difference ;)
I've had similar experiences with eczema and prednisone for a lifetime (I'm 76 and was hospitalized as an infant with my hands and feet tied to the crib so I couldn't scratch). Dupixent pretty much cured it for me in the last two years, thanks to a wonderful dermatologist in the states. I am so grateful.
Love the new beams. Do you have a background in construction?
Thank you Mark. I used to do some building with my dad who built conservatories, but I’m a musician by trade.
@@tomstapleton8287 Just watching you putting that new beam in single-handed. Respect!
Well done. 🎉❤
Thank you very much.
👍
I hope you are utilizing a laser level.
Yes George, I am using a laser as well as traditional methods to double check.
It’s amazing what one man can accomplish by himself with simple tools and basic concepts. I bet you slept well after wrestling around with the beam.
Yes, I did! Now time to crack on with some more.
Far to slow , no point in watching screws being put in beams , fast forward it , give audience a shorter more interesting video.
quite agree
Fair point.
Surprised that all the joists were taken out in one go and one out, one in process to retain outer wall structural integrity
Luckily the walls are 2 feet thick and very solid. The joists are going in this week.
Happy anniversary ❤ going to be a wonderful barn..😊
Thank you Karen.
Best of luck with that Tom!!! Moving materials is about 50% of the workload on a renovation. My two most used items were manual chain hoists and a trailer. We have had massive flooding here this last week. It has been an interesting week!
Thanks Joe. Yes it’s been really wet here, but that give me a good idea about drainage!
Bring on the restoration 👍
So anxious to see the renovation of your future home!
Doing such an epic renovation with the help & support of your family is a blessed time my friend i tip my hat to all of you ❤
Thank you very much, Craig
Sorry I was going to watch it but I hate music in videos and don't want to mute
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good😊

I remember here in Australia there was a big investigation into too many sports injuries being prescribed steroids in excess and suffered from the side affects. It took the suffering of many for the medical establishment to sit up and listen to their patients. Doctors are not gods they can be fallible and need to be careful to NOT become complacent thinking they know everything. A doctor's oath is First and Foremost is to listen to their patient.
Again , no hard ha5 or goggles when angle grinding , do you not have any care for your well being ?
I think you were very foolish / lucky , working with no hard hat or mask .glad you m@named it so far without incident .😊
Thanks Brian. I’ll try and stay alive for the next week or so. Thanks for watching. Tom
We Greetings from Thailand. Great project. Go slow , do it right and consult your fellow restoration guys. Too late to suggest a mask or respirator. Carry on
Thanks for the tips!
Excellent!!! Can't wait to see the next video!
Looking forward to seeing your next video 😊
Thanks Tom
ENDLESS DUST !
My comments keep disappearing! Anyway, our local déchetterie is fun too, lol 😂
I love the local déchetterie. The guys that work there are so helpful.
Our local déchetterie is fun too, but that made me spit out my coffee 😂😂
Same past our cottage, I love it 😂what dept have you bought in, we're in 23 in La Creuse. We're working on our 2nd renovation, which is a longère, having 2 huge barns. My French husband is from Paris. 😊
We are in Coreze. That sounds like great fun!
Gosh this takes me back! We are seven years in to our renovation. We are about 200km east of you and started our renovation in 2017. Granted our building is a bit larger than your barn but I understand everything your are going through. If you ever need any advice or whatever, feel free to contact us.
Thanks Joe, that’s really kind.
No problem Tom. We’ve made all the mistakes already so you don’t have to 😂
Das aufräumen und Entrümpeln kostet mehr, Zeit als das Ausbauen des Gebäudes 😞Aber ein tolles Objekt .Hast auch eine Fleißige Familie 🙂
Thank you very much
First time seeing your channel. Why don’t you use a hand/smack truck/Dolly. Don’t know the right name. So you won’t break your back. Did it self a lot. So handy
It’s quite expensive to hire, but I’m definitely burning some calories!
@@tomstapleton8287I mean for the stones. Hurting your back, not working is more expensive😅 You can buy them cheap but take a good one. I mean for weight of max 300 kgs. They are around 200-230 euro’s
Thank you
You're welcome
Bad news, termites and water damage.
Good news, I can see up close and know what to do.
Bonjour, Pourquoi couper ces magnifiques poutres centenaires dures comme du béton ?! 😑
Because the outer edges have woodworm, so they’re not structurally sound, but we will reuse the solid inner core to make non structural frames etc…
❤❤❤❤❤❤
