A skilled retrofit assessor can earn between £180-260 per assessment appointment, which usually takes at least 2 hours. So feasibly you could collect 4 assessments in a day and allow yourself processing time to deliver your report. Wages as a freelancer are starting in the region of £35k a year but much higher if you automate your report writing or work longer hours. Inhouse retrofit assessors are routinely paid less but with company benefits added. As a rule, the higher your Retrofit qualification (starting at 2 and heading up to 5) means the likelihood you'll be earning much more than the starting salary.

+nick1of2 - That's correct, you can't sustain pressurisation or depressurisation to track leakage paths with a smoke pen or IR but the shape of the pulse result given does provide an indication of the type of leakage paths you have (large or small openings etc.) and we're currently doing further work on this. More importantly, in my view testing at the end of the build or retrofit is too late for pinpointing leaks anyhow so a quicker, easier, lower cost test that can be done at multiple stages of the works can in fact be more informative and helpful to the quality assurance of the build process.
