Hello and welcome to this tutorial on how to sew this mock neck fitted knit dress. This is fairly simple and very fast project with customisable length and optional sleeves :)

- fitted and A-line skirt versions
- optional back/side slit on fitted version

Hi! I realized that sadly my fabric is not stretchy enough after purchasing them. Could this pattern still work if i size up a little bit?
It really depends on the fabric, I would test it first by pinning the fabric on myself without cutting it and seeing if I can put it on and off, that will give you an idea if it would work, if not use it for a woven fabric pattern and the mild stretch will just add more comfort :)

Hello, yes! This pattern requires knit fabrics as without stretch the final result would be too small and lack a closure. For similar result check out my "thyme" pattern that is made for woven fabrics :)

How did you measure and cut out the pattern

Oh, trying to get some idea of what size would be right for me. What size did you sew for yourself? I am small (32 bust), but not quite as slender as you. Thanks!
I am actually 35.5" in bust so I used size 8, according to my size chart I would recommend using size 4. This dress has a very loose fit so it should be completely enough :)

I enjoy seeing this design - it's flowy and lovely but still looks practical for wear and can be worn in winter when layered with tights. :D I personally find it harder to get lovely winter dresses, and so have a tendency to look for long sleeve and 3/4 sleeve patterns. :) These sleeves remind me of ones my grandmother sewed for me as a child - I adored them!

I'm so excited to make this, it's stunning! I've loved this style of top, but most patterns are always so boxy for it, and it just looks wrong with my curves. I love how you made it fitted, but it still has the same style. Well done. :)
Thank you so much! It was my exact goal to make this top fit the way boxy tops are styled when they are pulled back, but to make the garment do this on its own. It still has a loose fit but with a more shaped silhouette :)

If I wanted to make a midi skirt instead of the mini, do I just lengthen the pattern for the skirt?
Basically yes, just prolong the side seam lines, but I would recommend testing it out first if it looks and fits as you prefer :)
