I created this channel to support, encourage and participate in the amazing TH-cam homeschool community! I like 'randomness' so among the curriculum reviews, daily comings and goings, and other related homeschool ramblings, you might find some beauty, lifestyle and other fun things as well! I am striving to live life purposefully, as opposed to just coasting through it... so let's do this journey together! It's way more fun that way!!!

Dear Thanks so much for the videos. What you recommend comparehensive other math and English programs rather than reading eggs for my child who has autism
Thank you, I absolutely wish I would have known about this program sooner. I randomly came across it. Living in the state of Florida we get homeschool scholarship. My son is dyslexic and I've been educating myself through a website called Allison. I've been testing myself through different certifications and dyslexia. And the Montessori program. I have always wanted to give it a try but now that I'm a stay-at-home mom and going through the same learning is the best option. It's just so expensive and this is affordable. Especially compared to that Allison Montessori program. Not the same as the Allison certification web page lol
Why dosnt show the Math on mine!
Because it has an subscription
I love it but I can't put the password. 😐😊😓😫
THANK YOU!!!! For taking the time and effort to show us all the details of this magnificent program. Best wishes to all! 9-Aug-2024
I love this curriculum
Thank you so much! I was using sonlight and was hoping to be able to continue to with our timeline book.
I just got file box, can you please tell me how do I save more than one page at a time?
Did WriteShop work for him as an alternative to IEW?
Such a great review. I’m very stressed out trying to find if it’s possible to homeschool my two daughters of very different ages together for history. I have a 10th grader and 3rd grader next school year. Do you think I can do this curriculum? I wouldn’t know how. My mama heart wants to homeschool them together for at least one subject 😢
Hello! Thank you for ur review. Do u think this curriculum is enough to teach science? And how did u like it?
This was such a great review. We love MOH and I’ve been wondering about the printable resources. We have both the old text and new colored text editions so we’ve been working with the program that way. Just subscribed. I also have a channel and would love to be friends and connect. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
So helpful, thank you!
This was an excellent review!!

Thank You and Nope I didn't click Off. I instead Thumbs Up You because you said everything about the prepping. :0)
Thanks for sharing this! I am currently using the 5th grade Spell and Write for my reluctant learner and it's really fantastic. We do use this as our spine curriculum and supplement with videos, independent readers and online lessons. I love how the units are set up and that it includes Grammar in the 5th grade along with the writing, spelling and vocabulary. My son really enjoys the stories they chose for the unit themes are just perfect and the way they do spelling works the best we've found for my boy so far.
Lol I remember doing the peanut butter and jelly instructions thing in church youth group as a kids it was gross because nobody ever remembered to include the instruction to use a spoon or knife. Great video very helpful. I'm bummed Evan Moore only goes to sixth grade honestly just found it this year for my son and he's doing awesome with it but he's already in 5th oh well. Thanks for the fantastic video!
That's hysterical! It's always the little things that are so important. ;)
My boys are just going into 5th grade so this would be great towards the end of the year to see if they have gaps in picking up some of these skills. Thanks for the great review!
do you know how this would compare to SCM history? are there companion living books or suggestions?
This is a great review!! I almost went with this but we ultimately went with Gross-out grammar as my boys needed something that motivated them! How did this work for you?
Thank you so much for this review, I just found this curriculum, and will start using it for my 3 children, so this review was so helpful to see inside, and to hear practical information surrounding it, and using it.
What do you think after using it?
I just discovered your channel and I am planning to binge watch it tonight! My eldest is a rising third grader and he sounds so similar to yours son! Mine is a visual and kinesthetic learner who needs to have fun while learning…he is also a reluctant writer. This past year I had mostly black and white workbook style curriculum….it wasn’t a completely failed year (almost! 😂) but I am on the hunt for fun, colorful curriculums that are kind of outside of the box. He likes logic/game type stuff as well. Thank you for the videos you have posted! I’m sure looking through them will help provide me with some great ideas.
Good Morning! We will be using MosDos for both our 3rd & 4th graders next year. Since you have seen both Opal and Ruby, would you think they could both use Opal next year?
I thought I knew what I wanted for history but kept second-guessing my choice. I am back at square one now and just wanted to say thank you for doing this, for going into detail, and for all the links you posted. I still don't know what we are going to wind up using but this has been so helpful. Thank you 😊
I do have questions and this may get long sorry. I have a child with dyslexia he's 13 his reading and spelling we are working on. Back story he was in public school I thought he was getting extra help and it turns out I was the only one working with him at night. I pulled him in 5th grade and had him tested. He was reading at a first grade level and spelling was 1st/2nd grade level. What floors me is how much public school DONT teach he barely knew his states and capitals and only had a little state history. So that is the shortened version of what's going on I'm working with him and we have tutors for math and grammar also helping. My question is yes he's 13 however in your honest opinion would this be a good place to start with history? I know it's geared at younger ages but I'm wondering with his reading struggles and where he's at with spelling if this would be a good start. I absolutely love Notgrass my older son that was also pulled from school is working on government he's really enjoying it.
I just wanted to hear the kickballs sound
I want to try this but, it seems too overwhelming and doubtful I will get it.
How do you place your kid in these series? Mine is going into the third grade but he is reading at a 6/7 grade level.
I think it's advanced about a grade level. Having an advanced reader as well, I still placed him at grade level because of the themes in the literature, among other things. If you place them at their reading level, you run the risk of literature that has themes they just don't relate to, are too mature, or they just have no interest in. I had rejected the 5th grade level (which was his grade at the time and what I considered more like 6th-grade level) because of the length of the stories and the more mature themes. I felt the vocabulary and the literature elements taught were appropriate for him with Ruby. I'd look at the samples for the various levels and see which one you feel is best for not just his reading level, but also his vocabulary and maturity level. :) That's the great thing about homeschooling is that we teach our kids so we know them well enough to do really customize things like this!
@@robbiegleason4462 Thank you! It is my first year of homeschooling and still trying to navigate curriculum. I appreciate the advice.
@@ravenbird3014 You're welcome! I know you'll have a great year! Curriculum is just a tool - you'll quickly figure out what works best for you and your child and even things that aren't the perfect fit can be modified to work usually.
Awesome!
What about 180 days books?
Didnu do an update?
So helpful! Just heard about this. Do you still use it? You posted this two years ago.
I'm not just because my son has aged out of the material. I still think it's a fantastic deal though!
Hello! How is he doing now? Have you kept him on the training?
Sorry for the delay in my response! We finished the year of using Cognifit and saw a tremendous improvement in all areas. We didn't continue at the time, but he's using it again this year. I continue to see huge gains in all areas and is now blowing both of our original scores out of the water! Just FYI, this program is no longer available through Timberdoodle, so it will have to be purchased directly from Cognifit.
this is my school app and I wanna know how to write reviews?
Thank you! This was very helpful! 😊 We need some simple Science next year.
If I have 2 students doing same level could I just buy 1bundle and just make copies of activity pages?
Do you recommend WriteShop? I’ve seen your older videos and just wanted to see if you had any thoughts about it for the 3rd - 6th grade range. Thanks!
This was super helpful! Are you still using it? I’m deciding between Homeschool Planet and Homeschool Panda.
I was using it for my high schooler and he's graduated and in college now. I am not using it for my middle schooler, but plan to definitely use it again for high school!
th-cam.com/video/5TcvQ270YA4/w-d-xo.html
Where's the best website to find this?
I got it from Timberdoodle.com!
I wish my kids did the independent study but I think this may work because they are so “project” oriented. They will love this… I will tolerate it because I love them 😅
Which Bible do they use? Very thoughrough review.
Good question. There is a handwriting curriculum I just threw in the NOPE pile because they use a horribly inaccurate translation of the Bible. I don't even think translation is the right word...😬 Glad I realized it before I bought it!
This is by far one of thee best videos I’ve watched. Not only are s your commentary great, but your transparency is HILARIOUS! I was cracking up when you did Marine Biology and then Notgrass.🤣🤣🤣 I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks!
