What Legacy Is Your Business Creating?
Have you ever stopped to consider what kind of legacy you’re creating through your business?
Or the distance of the ripple effect that starts every time somebody works with you?
This was my big question for those who came to my Planning Day a couple of weeks ago and the discussions were rrrrreally interesting!
I meet so many people who struggle to take the credit for the impact they have, but thinking about the ripple effect can be a brilliant way to get started. Because by thinking about the small starting point and following those ripples it can really bring it home just what a mahoosive impact your lovely little business is having!
Have you ever considered what kind of legacy you’re creating?
(Watch my video to hear me really dig into this and give you lots of food for thought)

Say No If You Want To Grow!
มุมมอง 4วันที่ผ่านมา
Are you a people pleaser who often finds yourself saying yes to things that you really wish you’d said no to? Do you find yourself working with PITA customers you wish you could ditch? Or discounting your service and then resenting it? 😤 One of the biggest things you can do to unlock growth in your business is learn to start saying no more often. Do you ever stop to reflect on what’s working and what’s not in your business? Or do you never have the time because you’ve always got 86 bazillion things on your to do list? The Simple Systems That Will Transform Your Business Success
มุมมอง 1214 วันที่ผ่านมา
Starting your own business definitely takes a bit of bravery and creativity (and possibly a slight dose of blind stupidity!) doesn’t it? But those traits are fairly opposite to being a natural organiser who loves detail and is passionate about a process. And when you’re not a detail or process person, that can easily leave you feeling disorganised, out of control and as though your business is ...

Are You Losing Business Because You’re Too Helpful?
มุมมอง 5หลายเดือนก่อน
Have you ever considered that you might be scaring off fantastic potential customers by being too helpful too soon? Something I often see, especially with people whose values relate to making a difference or delivering value, is that you give away too much value too early. And in doing that you can either persuade customers that they have enough info now to crack on without you. Or just give th...
The Importance Of Regular Learning To Grow Your Business
มุมมอง 7หลายเดือนก่อน
Do you set aside regular time for learning in your business? Do you love to read, listen to audio-books or podcasts, or go to business events? Or do you think that sounds like a brilliant idea but one you just never have the time for? I often find my clients feel really conflicted about learning. They’d love to do more of it, and they enjoy it when they do. But it rarely gets past number 6 or 7...
Why Tracking Your Time Is The Key To Productivity
มุมมอง 14หลายเดือนก่อน
Have you ever logged your working time in real detail? Have you tracked what you’ve done every 30 minutes to work out where your time actually goes every week? It’s something I ask every new client to do, and there are 2 absolute certainties when they do it. The first is that they tell me they hate it … and hate me as a result 🤣 But the second is that they get massive clarity about where their ...
Why Every Small Business Needs Terms and Conditions
มุมมอง 5หลายเดือนก่อน
Do you have Terms and Conditions for every customer to sign? Or are your clients all wonderfully trustworthy, lovely people so you just don’t need them? I can honestly say that the vast majority of people I talk to only put Ts and Cs in place when not having them has bitten them on the bum! Because until then it’s just too easy to leave this on your ‘getting around to it’ list. But this isn’t j...
What Results Does Business Coaching Deliver?
มุมมอง 102 หลายเดือนก่อน
Do you think people should expect guaranteed results from working with a Business Coach? I’ll let you into a secret - any guarantees you see aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. It’s all smoke and mirrors! Buuuut, I also think every Business Coach has a moral duty to do everything they can to make sure their clients get value from working with them. Now that doesn’t necessarily mean incre...
Why Strategy Is More Important Than Activity In Your Marketing

Your TH-cam videos are amazing
So accurate😂 And also true: Always stand your ground!
Your videos are very good and your editing skills are excellent, but your videos are not reaching many people. The main reason for this is that your videos are not SEO optimized. I am a TH-cam video SEO expert and would like to optimize your videos. Are you interested in this?
🎉🎉
Great video!🎉
Hey Paula, I notice that the content you share is very meaningful, but you don't seem to have a large audience for your videos. I wonder if you have any email lists and whether you conduct campaigns with them to attract viewers?
One thing stood out from your video is the affirmation of brain dump site, thanks and I will continue to do this. You should get more views, I assume it’s because of your video thumbnail does not “promise” what’s in your video title. Thanks for sharing this video, hope you get more views.
Thank you so much. I really needed to hear this!
My pleasure Alison, I'm really glad it resonated :-)
At the saaaame time, I also tend to visit businesses that have discounts online anyways because of the various competition in the area
And that's a very fair point Xena. I work primarily with offline service-based businesses so they have the opportunity to build relationships and talk about price. Buying online is much more transactional and price driven
If you live in a cave you don’t have to worry about rent, so start a video channel an live the high life
Well that's certainly one option!

A wise man once said stop wasting ur time into all this videos and social media invest ur time and do something productfull or read a book , more u read more u learn . #cheers
Books are a good way to learn. Videos are a good tool for marketing and building your audience. Both have their place ;-)

Yeah probably best to not rope anyone else into that! 🤦♀

so I can raise my sales prices in order to make more money! time to sell a toothbrush for 500,000,000,000 and become the richest man in the world 😎
Let me know how that goes! In all seriousness there are a LOT of people running their own business that are frightened to put their own prices up because of the 'cost of living crisis' but all their own costs are going up so they just make less and less money :-(
@@paulacohen-taylory Thanks for the reply 👍🏼 Keep up the good work
I don't know how i got recommended this video, but it's good content
Hi Miro, I'm not sure either because it's been lurking on here for 2 years. I'm glad you enjoyed it though 😀 Feel free to subscribe if you'd like to see similar business tips each week 😉
I'm totally a shiny penny person. So easily distracted by new ideas. Get this message completely.
Ahhh I've only just spotted this comment. Clearly I was off somewhere else being distracted! It's so easily done though isn't it. The plan is easy, sticking to it is so much harder.

There is a lot to be said for simplicity. It's very easy to over-complicate things when you're building your own business!
How can I contact with you?
Great tips Paula Thank you- deep down we probably know we should be doing lots of these its a great reaffirmation. Thank you!
Thanks Carol, it's always much easier to know what we should be doing than to actually make the time to do it isn't it!
Thanks Paula some great tips, simple is definitely my mantra having worked in the public sector and everything is over complicated. I love your 90 day plan templates they are really useful and stick to my wall!

Thanks Sarah , I hope you have a fabulous year! x
hi, thanks for your sharing. I like your videos and I think you have delivered lots of useful tips.
Thank you Gordon! 😀
Ooh this is interesting!! Tolerance in business can absolutely be a bad thing but I feel at the moment more people need to be tolerant especially to each other online, the trolls are out in full force!
Now that IS an interesting perspective! When it comes to tolerating awkward or demanding customers, or other things that run you ragged then tolerance is definitely a bad thing (in my opinion). But the point of social media is to give people a platform to share their own opinions. We're never going to agree with everybody and I absolutely agree with you Laura that there's space for far more tolerance of other opinions and perspectives. YES we should tolerate different ideas and viewpoints but NO we shouldn't tolerate trolls & keyboard warriors!!

Those are the same reasons I didn't venture to clubhouse too... time and arsetivity... I need to get back on Instagram b4 anything else x
Great tips 😄
Brilliant video Paula thank you. I did a review at the end of last year but not as structured as this. I have made notes and am going to aim to do this quarterly if I can :) Thank you :)
Great practical advice on relevant issues we entrepreneurs find challenging. Love your videos Paula Thx 🙏🏻

Great video and great topic. This comes up often when talking with potential clients.
Great video Paula - sales doesn't have to mean being pushy, no one likes to feel sold to. To me sales in explaining / discussing your offering and then following up to discuss thoughts. If you expalin to your client, "This is what i'll do, this is when i'll do it...." they will expect your call, you're also keeping in control of the situation too. I used to be very salesy but I've reigned that in and see it as an exchange of infomation now ie this is what I can do for you and this is how it will add value.
Hi Paula, hope you're well! I sometimes feel like replying to emails is an unavoidable multitasking exercise. One email might prompt you to make a quick update/adjustment to your website, then the next is an email that requires a technical answer to a clients question that you have to do a little research on and the next is a sales email to a potential new client. Your head needs to be in a different space for each one of these tasks. We're always told by various sources not to let other people set your agenda for the day, but emails have to be replied to at some point and if you're going through a batch of 20 or so at once, it can leave you head spinning with the range of different tasks involved. Do you have any suggestions of how to deal with this? Ben :)
Hi Ben, good to hear from you :-) Yes, I think emails are the bane of many people's lives! There are some simple things you can do, like allocating set times through the day so that you don't constantly dip in and out of them. You could try to group together particular types of emails too so you can focus better on one thought process at a time, and maybe even have a set diary slot for each type so you can defer certain ones and know they aren't going to get forgotten. The other things to think about is forward planning. So rather than just dealing with each email and then moving on to the next, think about what would make this easier next time round. Maybe a particular question you keep answering should go into an FAQ document or something like that? Essentially keep asking yourself how you could make this easier or quicker for yourself and hopefully over time small changes could have a big impact. Hope that helps
Thanks Paula - batching into certain categories could definitely help. I'll create some labels to help differentiate each type of email to make sorting and replying easier. Updating and improving FAQs and canned responses is another good piece of advice 👍
What a good post Paula
Really useful content! We generally only put prices up when our suppliers do, and we constantly dread doing so. Particularly with food and drink export just now and Brexit looming, we want to tread as carefully as possible with our overseas clients!
Really good video, Paula. This is something I do struggle with. I worry about losing business because I'm too pricey for some clients or not being pricey enough for others and therefore not desirable. It's odd how we often prize things that cost us more.
Great advice, I need to learn how to use Mail Chimp to improve my systems.
Great tips Paula, I think part of it for me has been understanding where a VA can add value, I had no idea they could do so much. Very good points in this video.
What if indeed. I struggle with the 'what if it works' question.
