The Secrets Behind Colin Farrell's Transformation Into The Penguin
Following the story from Matt Reeves The Batman in 2022, The Penguin is about to wrap up it's first season starring Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, and many more. When I originally saw Robert Pattinson's The Batman, Colin's performance actually stole the show for me. Like many others, I was curious on how Reeves and makeup designer Mike Marino transformed him into The Penguin using different prosthetics and makeup techniques. Even more than that, I wanted to know why they created the character the way they did! In this video, we overview why they created him the way they did, how they came up with the intense makeup process for him to go through, and how it impacts the audience as a whole. Let me know your thoughts on the transformation in the comments!

How Marvel Uses VFX To Animate Realistic Facial Expressions

Deadpool and Wolverine recently came out - returning with a wild adventure through the multiverse. In the last Deadpool movie, there were some impressive VFX techniques used to convey emotion through the facial expressions we see through his mask. Techniques like these are used for many characters within the MCU, as being behind a mask can limit the range of emotions that characters can express...

Inside Out 2 recently came out to continue their story with Riley and her emotions Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust. Knowing that Pixar puts a lot of effort into the small details of their films, I did some research...

In Season 2 of House of the Dragon, we see two very interesting scenes with dragons. Most notably, The Battle of Rook's Rest where we see quite the battle between Aegon and Sunfyre, Rhaenys and Meleys, and Aemond and Vhagar. After seeing this scene, I needed to know the details of how they merged practical and visual effects to bring these scenes to life. Season 2 still has 4 episodes left star...

    No chef would ever allow an employee to disobey or talk back. I get that it was played up for drama purposes, but that really took away any realism for me.

    I wonder if a high speed arm such as the bolt (in the version with track laid out) could have done the trick without the need for the 5 hour shoot. Of course if they didnt do it that way they must have a good reason. No one spends extra money on film for the fun of it.

    good video, but a tip: make sure your audio levels are consistent, the clips from the show are way louder than your voice recording so it's very jarring when it cuts to a clip of the show.

    As someone who has worked in a shitty pizza and wings place, and also worked under chefs like Dave Pasternack.... The Bear is extremely accurate, and the details they subtly drop in are like a thank you and love story to all the kitchen staff busting their asses for dirt pay everyday... Just because they want to create consumable magic.

    The brilliance of The Bear is that it isn't a drama; it's a comedy. It's satire and parody filled with hyperbole. The only people who think it's a drama are hospo workers who take themselves far too seriously. Every Emmy award it has won is in the comedy category, yet its biggest fans still can't put two and two together. If ever there was a group of people who like to take a grandiose view of themselves and wear injuries like badges of honour, it's chefs. It is a commentary on the prima donna attitude of fine dining.

    • @LANeverSleeps
      @LANeverSleeps 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its more of a dramedy. Its definitely not satire, more commentary on how ambition can leave you vulnerable and alone. Carmie's connections with his brother and Syd and Ritchie are the meat of the show, wrapped in the comedic chaos of an authentic restaurant world.

    • @lefthandright01
      @lefthandright01 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LANeverSleeps Eh? Books are divided into categories: fiction and non-fiction. Drama is the same. It's either Tragedy or comedy. Any drama that uses a non-serious tone (A.K.A Hyperbolae, Satire, humour, melodrama.) It is deemed a comedy. So, what is satire? A means of criticising any deeply held beliefs, rituals, stupidities, rhetoric, etc, within a modern context. That is precisely what the bear does. It critiques people who take themselves too seriously and make work their central passion without borders or boundaries. The show spells this out in the early episodes with a monologue by Carmie. This is what happens when you reduce funding for the arts. People's education in it becomes very poor. The Bear is no different from a Shakespearian or Greek comedy. Comedy doesn't have to use humour. It often does, but something doesn't have to be funny to be one. The show writer, producer, showrunner, and actors have all publicly stated that it's a comedy because they know what drama is. The same as a book can be 99.9% accurate, but if it makes up one single part as imagination... it's non-fiction now. It does use hyperbolism; it does use satire, and it does use dark humour. That is what makes it a comedy and not a tragedy. Its melodramatic in nature. There is no denying this, and that's why everyone who is making it has said multiple times it's why it's a comedy.

      i disagree. I think it served the story really well. SPOILERS AHEAD: To me it symbolizes the moment the game stopped being about the whole love triangle and all the history and everything and just became about one thing: the game. And that was represented by us being the ball. Plus the increase in pace, the music, the intensity. It perfectly heightens the intensity culminating in that awesome pull out to a birds eye view shot at the end showing the game as a game. So I think that it was both an awesome shot and one that served the film and story very well.

    could not keep watching because of the African chick. i was hoping this was a story about a guy chasing his dream. but it turned in to a sad all cooks have such a hard life, bro its not a hard life and most of the struggle created in the show are because of stupid mistakes and insane characters people I would never want to talk to because they are so obsessed with their own life. first season was fine after that it just became wining. you got the dumb as guy making donuts while his job is to make chocolate cake. basically all of the african chicks dishes are sucked out stupid dishes that did not make my mouth water and she seems to be the most entitled because her mom died or some shit. they tryne be a michelin star restaurant but they cant even do mise en place. as someone who studied under a michelin star cook turned in to house cook because that whole world is cancer in its self. basically when guests come in everything needs to be ready so you only have to focus on how it looks. only small seers or heating things like that happen. i never worked in a michelin restaurant but the show makes it seem like those people hate what they do but if thats the case maybe stop doing it dont act like you go in to hell to make me a fucking meal dumbass. (some parts of the show are really good)
