ASTA MATRIKA NAACH || MADHYAPUR THIMI || GAIJATRA || MADHYAPUR MAHOTSAV 2081
Astamatika pyakha of Madhyapur Thimi is one of the auspicious traditional dance, which is organized on the occasion of Gaijatra. The Astamatrika consist of seven Matrika's:
1. Mahakali
2. Barahi
3. Maha Laxmi
4. Rudrayeni
5. Kaumari
6. Indrayani
7. Bramhayani
8. Vaishnabi
The eight Matrika's wearing different masks of the devi's, accessories and costume's , dances in the tunes of the traditional musical instruments. This form of dance is very delightful to watch and is considered to be very blissful. It is believed that the Matrika's protects the community from the devils and kills the fear of them from peoples heart.
