Jim Mills ....playing a "Left Handed Banjo"!!!!!
I folks....Jim Mills here....I recently found this video I shot a few months ago for a client who'd ordered only the 2nd Left Handed neck I've ever been asked to complete on a Pre War Gibson conversion banjo in over 25 years of dealing in them! ....I made this short video after its conversion for the new owner....also named "Jim"....and thought I'd share it with you guys as well....maybe you'll get a kick out of it!!!
The banjo was a near mint condition Pre War Gibson TB-1 from 1935....and Frank Neat built a wonderful example of left handed 5 string neck for it....featuring the proper Style 1 "Gull Wing" inlay pattern....there is no added cast tone ring.....only the original 1/4 inch rolled brass tone hoop....This video shows...."Where there's a will....there's a way".....I hope you enjoy....Sincerely, Jim Mills

What makes a banjo loud like that? I had a cheap 100.00 ido banjo i learned on and it didn't have a lot of volume.i told my other banjo playing friend i couldn't get very much volume out of my ido and he said with your ability for playing banjo you banjo's volume is about right lolololo😂 thats pretty funny huh?

I used to pick with a guy out of Jackson County that'd just turn a right handed 5 over and play it upside down, thumb string on the bottom. Google 'Sweet Tater Band' and look where the thumb string is. Too bad he's gone to his reward.
