That’s 100% true which I explained. Breeding a Merle to another Merle will produce serious health issues in the puppies including blindness.

Ok I guess my confusion was if I had a visual mearl female, I get a tri color male no visual mearl. But the male has a parent that is a visual mearl. I guess I was thinking that the male puppy would carry mearl and that would lead to bad puppies if I breed my visual mearl puppy to this non visual mearl who might be a carrier of mearl due to one of its parents being a visual mearl . Hope I explained this well.

@Pullem_allchu I understand what you mean. Unlike other phenotypes of DNA, Merle only takes one copy to show visually. Producing two copies of Merle would be certain health issues which can only happen by breeding a visual Merle to a Visual Merle. If your tri doesn’t visually show as Merle, they didn’t get that copy of Merle passed to them so you have no worries as far as health issues and the offspring of your breeding should produce a visual Merle carrying just one copy of Merle.

Good question. It was between $800-$1,000 if I recall. Nowhere near the amount of emergency C-Sections, which are between $2,500 and $3,500 in the DFW area.

@carriegemin5226 not sure at all I’m definitely hoping for more. I’ll find out next week during the C-Section and hopefully prove ultrasounds as only accurate for confirming pregnancy.

That’s craaazy and dope at the same time. Congrats and I hope they are all healthy and happy! I have a video coming out later today on Storm’s ultrasound. I know counting puppies isn’t guaranteed through ultrasound but subscribe and stay tuned to see how it went!

That’s a great story and also great feedback about the anesthesia cause I just learned something from you about the possibilities of that happening as well. I waited almost twelve hours and almost costed my dog her life trying to get her to have a natural birth. The C-Section saved my entire litter and the mom’s life. I still think French Bulldogs that have natural litters are the minority and based on the data as well as my experience it’s a less risky move to schedule a C-Section. It’s really hard to know though and it’s really in God’s hands so the best we can do is pray and still have a backup plan of things go left. The vision of you coaching your dog through her natural birth has me laughing way too hard this morning because I would have been the same way 😂😂.

That may be an indication that her body may allow her to go natural but it’s too risky to plan it that way. None of my female Frenchies have ever let a male penetrate them.

For myself Frenchies are the closest to humans as it gets try and spend some time with a Frenchie and judge for your self

Yes they can reach it. My other one does well, but she does the infamous shake and that’s how blood got outside of her kennel. Most dogs can take care of it themselves I just don’t trust her to yet.
