Plenty of videos out there on the gear oil change its a maintenance task you can do at home with just a couple of tools Large flat head screwdriver and 11mm spanner/socket drip tray and method of re filling the oil, SIP will send a filler nozzle with the oil however for this change I used a medical syringe and some silicone tubing to make a funnel. My first ride on a geared Vespa.

I've had the bike 4 days by this point but was waiting for the insurance to be swapped over then being at work I did't really fancy going for a ride in evening commuting traffic. Although not shown in the video the first main road I pulled onto the clutch bit way harder than I was expecting and momentarily lost my grip on the left hand bar which was a little nerve wracking!!! Love the sound of the 17A turbo… best sounding Garrett turbocharger that exists, to me
It wasn't forgetting the belt that had me cringing it was the croc's with socks.
But power will be down !
Have a look at the link in the description they seem to be really good all round exhaust and its a standard 125 (at the moment)
Sam i love your vespa, new sub, have a nice life ❤
Thank you, really enjoying doing all the jobs on it.
Hi sam just subscribed
Thank you.
How many teeth is on the ring gear do they all have the same amount of teeth mine has 70 teeth could please let me no my cg 125 is a2005 .
If u get a quiet pipe youll mkst likely loose power, pipes are everyhing on a 2stroke
I've gone for a SIP Road XL looks more like the standard box exhaust but they seem to get some of the better dyno results.
@SAM-zt2uy be alot lower then what you have tho, but you don't buy a classic scooter to make it quiet
Lovely sounds pal
Had a small frame 125 went like a bullet wishing ld kept it
Zips along nicely 👌
Still not sure if its coughing and spluttering or whether that is the rev limit, not managed a ride since swapping the gearbox oil but the clutch still feels very snappy so I think renewing that will be happening soon.
@@SAM-zt2uy the clutch cable could be adjusted it seems that the lever is nearly fully released before biting.
Almost 2 months later and its still riding fine.
As long as they have some decent oil in them they go forever!😁
I had a CG125 when I was 17. Fantastic little bike which would do anything and absolutely bullet-proof.
Aixam 400.5?
quando smonti , fai vedere bene i pezzi che togli. Qualcuno potrbbe essere interessato hai pezzi singoli..😬

They should take the surviving cabs of both Deltics and make a replica of DP2.
Great video my friend. I've been trying to get to this rare engine to video it yesterday 30th July 24 we tried to get to it from the tramway lower down which we failed due to steep ground and low cloud hampering visibility. Looking at your photos I gather you approached it from the top which looks relatively steep did you go down the incline. Any information would be much appreciated many thanks in advance.
@@rucksack1956 yes I worked my way down the inclines from the top they pretty steep so I wouldn’t risk it in the wet. Once you get down a few levels you should be able to spot the loco.
Many thanks for the information my friend at 68 I won't be taking any risks. I have been there before quite a few years back and I will most certainly return before I'm too old and beyond. Many thanks again 🙏 👌
Stupid little windscreen wipers.
A very well made and informative video although I do have one question. What are the torque setting for the clutch and variator?
Planning the exact job next week! Thank you for the help!
nice!!!!!!! :D TX for the video!!
Is my memory wrong, I thought they had sound deadening screens fitted behind the cab seats in the early sixties.
Those engines are wild, 6 pistons on 3 crank pins with the pistons coming together to form the combustion chamber.
Thanks for sharing this ! Very cool.
That is Brewster in Chuggington
i would like to see videos about the engine
Shame about the colour scheme. Be nice if was back in green.
Great video !
How much HP ?
@@jamieharmer5654 with both engines running 3300bhp
Very nice display!
Must have been draining driving these.sat so high up the view out isnt great and i can only imagine the noise at full chat......not in a good way
I leap forward from steam in both respects though
View out front is much better than modern multiple units with corridor connections like the Disastros. I couldn't wait to get off them and back to the 159s at Salisbury. Rather drive an old slammer than a Disastro.
I drove these in br service, they were noisy uncomfortable and draughty, but boy could they perform , I loved them, something special.
@kristinajendesen7111 Those fairly new Scotrail EMUs look horrendous. I've driven 80s gangwayed EMUs and they were so drafty as well as cramped cabs.
Why did this locomotive become legendary ? Deltic engine, small mass of unsprung parts, elastic cog wheel, and that's all. At rest, it has nose-suspended traction motors which are not exist to passenger locomotive, and silly design. APT, HST-125, Class-90/91 mechanical drives, couplings and design are better.
My guess would be the Deltic engine itself, being a fairly unusual design, combined with being a very recognisable locomotive from the era of full dieselisation on non-electrified routes that stayed on for a long time.
smartly done with limited space
WERE WAS THIS? SEEN A FILM ON YOU TUBE WERE THE DRIVER WAS WASHING HIS HANDS IN THE B,R DELTIC ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THERE WAS A TOILET NEXT TO THE SINK HOPE THAT ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION 😊😂
You are making the locomotive better than new ! I like most the little hot plate left at the bottom. Drinking tea and driving a loco must be beautiful. Has it got a toilet ?
Yes, they had a toilet.
From the days when we used to make stuff. Sad what's happened to our once great engineering economy.
Where can I get one of those 100 m.p.h. speed limit stickers??? 😅
Merci du partage! Jolie vidéo! Les développeurs 3D apprécieront! Stéph.
They’re lovely locos but I have no idea how the driver would be able to see out of the front windows. I mean they’re so high up!
The seats are basically bar stools, they’re also super high too 😂
A fantastic job!
Deltec, because the combustion happens between two pistons there is twice the expansion creating more power.
The cabs were a bit cramped, I always ended scalping myself when sitting in the driving seat and having to look back down the train by virtue of sticking my head out of the side window. The top was quite low. Similarly after a day in one of these, the tinnitus was still very apparent even at three-o-clock in the morning!
Интересный аппарат. Какая мощность дизеля?
@@Reimican Search for "Napier Deltic" - there are some good descriptions online, but briefly it is an opposed piston, two-stroke diesel with the cylinders arranged in triangular banks, sharing a crankshaft at each corner. It revs a lot faster than most traction diesels. The locomotive has two of these engines, each with its own generator, for a total of 3,300hp, which was very high for a 100 ton locomotive when the concept was first developed in the mid 1950s
I was at Leeds Holbeck in the seventies.I always thought the cabs were very basic compared to the class 47 (Hawkers) which had better seats and far greater vision.Even with the sound deadening the Deltics were still very noisy.
Reminds me of the cockpit of a Spitfire. The graphics in a variety of typefaces, the manufacturers logos. The scattered switchgear and variety of controls. The view out....The modern day ergonomist would want to begin again with a clean sheet of paper.
A lot of our old slam doors were painted in a light green colour inside the cab. It looked very similar to the cockpit colour of the Spitfires & Hurricanes etc. It makes me wonder if BR got a job lot of old paint cheap from the MOD when the prop jobbies were phased out.
