Thank you for bringing this amazing event to Sonoma raceway. I've been able to get up close and personal with so many of my childhood poster cars for the last couple years. Cars I never thought I'd see in person. From the LeMans winning Ford MK4 to the hill climb monster Scott Speed ran, Subaru's Project Midnight. We're all praying this event becomes the American version of Goodwood FOS. Sonoma is the perfect local for full course/ hill time attack. See you again this June. Keep up the amazing work.

I raced there in 1985, in SCCA 'improved touring'. I had a Datsun 1200 that I'd fixed up according to the competition book put out by Datsun. It was pretty fast, and I could almost keep up with the 510's, put they were definitely better in the corners. Just before I went to Sears Point I put on a Weber carb, but it really didn't like off-camber right turns, and the engine would cut out for a couple of seconds. Nice track, though.

510's are easily upgraded to be monsters on the track or in pro rallys, excellent handling ,light weight , powerful ,easily worked on ,stuff available ..AVAILABLE and AFFORDABLE .

I'm not going to watch the video but it goes without saying that Japanese quality is far better than overpriced European shit. Lots of people already know this , it shows in how worthless anything European is 2nd hand.

An Opel Manta would have owned that race.

Best place to watch the races at Sonoma is turn 9, you can see almost of the entire track.

My era of watching racing in my 20's.Hocinhiem,Nurungburg Ring,Spa in Belgium when I was stationed st Weisbaden.

The 1900 Opel mantas in the USA used to flog the datsuns on a regular basis. They raced E stock until the SCCA outlawed the opels for being to fast.

Well, that was SPECTACULARLY bad coverage of a load of very interesting race cars. Congratulations to everyone involved. Please, don't ever cover a race with drones again.

I worked for Phil Dermer back in the day who campaigned a BMW 2002. At the same time Peter Brock of Brock Racing Enterprise BRE, really performed well, and the BMW’s were handicapped by the carburetor rules. Had the BMW 2002Tii been legal, or better breathing carburetors been allowed, the results would likely have been more favorable for the BMW.

Very little commentary about the actual race...just bragging about which cars you owned or restored...bloody awful guys 😕🙄

Mom had a 2 door blue 510 manual with black 4 spoke rims in the 70's until it was stolen. I really miss that car!

Ah, Parnelli Jones, he was a very good racer. I remember when he raced at the now defunct Riverside Raceway, his driving style was described as "he left no turn unstoned" because the pavement edges were just a suggestion and there were not finished runoffs. So he would just go straight through the esses.

Glad I got to drive 510 back in day early 70s, girl's mom's car, expected nothing found to be good little sports car.

It's a cool bygone era but like racing today it got un- affordable you can only do a few races on an engine and you got to rebuild it buy new s*** etc.... however a lot of classes in scca are more low budget and entertaining and fun and a regular blue collar dude can go out there and have fun with a great hobby, unfortunately all the race shops get involved in privateer racing and cheat and put the money behind the guys and try to turn them from a backyard amateur to a f- n pro... Complete bulshit... biggie size mentality just like every black kid thinks he's going to be Michael Jordan... Because he's got a little bit of talent on the neighborhood ghetto court😅 ... The IMSA HSR series is way cooler, you get a whole bunch of different types and classes of cars from the past, that is super cool and not like new racing at all.

What a drag Murry in 88 came in too hot, lock up a wheel, lost a position then got messed up in traffic, lost another only to lose to 3rd behind by a second......that's got to hurt. It's one thing to lose to power but to mistakes, it drives you bonkers, it drove me bonkers anyways.
