@@michaelansell2739 it’s meant to be 325
Beautiful! So cool to see the DBR & DC both out on the line in their colours!
@@TheAeroflyGuy yeah it definitely is , first preserved DC with mainline certification ,GVR has done a awesome job
Where was this taken? Also what model DX? As in Number.
@@DXR8007NZR hey it was taken at the Hamilton model train show at the Hamilton gardens and I’m not too sure sorry
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand thanks so much!! I like the content man!
@ thank you mate really appreciate it, love your channel btw
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand thanks man! mutual feelings then!!
This gives me hope for the future!
Mechanical bells and vintage NZ diesels
Both of them look classy
They had the skills when it came to restoring DC 4818. Fruit Salad trio: DBR1254 DBR1295 and DC4818
The fruit salad twins on a run
DC 4818 looking fresh. It looks different than the time it arrived at the GVR and was under overhaul
@@OfficialSEIC2K6 yes it does , GVR has done a really good job with it
Did you shoot this from a tree top or from the side of ridge?
@@DivineAura-eg7hx nope just from the footpath at the end of the road there
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand oh good....thanks a ton for the reply.
May I know what is all that art on the sides?
@@DivineAura-eg7hx just new side curtain art containers KiwiRail has purchased , 20 designs 200 containers
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand Curtain art containers? Like an additional means of advertisement revenue ?
@@DivineAura-eg7hx Some have safety messages and the rest I think are to deter Taggers and also just to look Nicer than the red side ones .
@@davidlipscombe916 oh... wow it is something new for me. In India, aesthetic is often missing from everything let alone railways.
Im incredibly sad I missed a freight train at Westfield yard, it had 2 DLs and and a DSC 😢
@@Kiwitrailchannel that’s no good there been a few good one I’ve missed this year aswell
No train end monitor!
4818 looks great can't wait for the first trip
@@_Still_Dre_ it’s definitely is , I got a few more videos to upload from today , can’t wait to catch it pulling an excursion

@@МагдалинаАхвледиана ?
I take it that Hamilton/Te Rapa is like Picton, hard to get good photos and videos of railway movements?
@@philiphunt2313 yep pretty much , it could be worst than Picton
Hey, they've got safety rails on now
@@Kiwitrailchannel yep there slowly being added
Nice catch, just subscribed to you
@@BNSFrailfan94 thank you mate , really appreciate it
You probably get this a lot but, how does one know the times of the trains that are going to pass?
@@outlaw_doggo mostly just remember what time they pass but there is timetables around
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand Ahh I see thank you 😁
No kitchen car, or was this filmed a while ago? I assume the Dfb can manage the train all the way. On the TranzAlpine a Dfb was tried, but could not keep up with the timetable, but a single Dx could. Normally they run two Dx’s on that train except through the tunnel.
@@Phil-oj5nr Special charter , the cafe car was removed and a extra two carriages added , The second DFB is for show , kiwi rail wanted to reenacted the charter train that was at the Maori queen funeral
I think the horn caused a car to go nuts 😅
Yeah it definitely did
Isn't GC3 the that goes to Mission Bush ? . As I see at either Te Rapa parked up or at Huntly heading North
@@davidlipscombe916 this is a test train , it’s listed as GC3 and it was Huntly to Tauranga , I’m guess ur referring to 137/138 or 140H/145H which sit in Te rapa yard
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand it must be 140H/145H that's at Te Rapa the other 2 plus 239/14o I see sometimes 1 after the other coming in/out of Rotowaro
GC - Genesis Coal. GC - Group Chat lol
I would expect Steam Inc to have a few SA's to go with SD's 5675 and 5883 in the set for future?
Would have thought 15 running carriages with a couple waiting for restoration was enough for them already?
Excellent sight to see and heading back to there former Auckland home area(almost)and a future as a charter fleet
I enjoy your videos especially as you include Class 30's in your shoots. I saw B80 heading through Manunui earlier in the day and I believe the last DL had been recovered by B80 from the Kakahi loop after having failed in the previous 24 hours.
@@muppett42758 thank you mate appreciate that , yeah I got a soft spot for the old class 30s , yep it was apparently it hit a boulder
technology has come a long way since i started with nzr in palmerston north in 1974.
30163 on 222 tonight
@@michaelansell2739 yeah I saw that thank you, might get 390 in the morning with 042 and 192
Great job filming that shiny DH , came out better than my film 👍
It seems KR might’ve finally gotten it right with these EF’s. Some are working really good now!
@@n.f.railphotography7185 yeah it definitely seem so , hopefully they will all end up working reliable
Is vandalism of rakes prevalent in New Zealand too?
00:09 for a moment i thought of an accident, with the car coming in pretty quickly out of nowhere..
Tat bells gives vibes of trains of America!
Misty!
So good😊😊
At least they are being resused (they should have refurbished them into EMU trains)
Lol I did the exact same thing m.th-cam.com/video/gqeoD2b0QOA/w-d-xo.html
Are there getting Refublished?
There heading to the GVR yard from a Storage yard
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand - Are they going to be stored at GVR instead at Taumarunui? I have seen photos that some of the SA carriages at Taumarunui in the processed of being scrapped by KR.
@@chrismckellar9350The carriges heading to gvr will be used for their heritage fleet in the future as gvr have purchased them with the intent of running them on the mainline for excursions in the future The sa carriges will most likely be an easy restoration With the SD cars having an unknown fate when being restored as their cabs could be used on some railway lines

Also planned for GVR service are AO198, ASO110, ASO1, A1860, A1908, A1918 and A1985! Exciting times ahead for GVR excursions!
The gauge is almost close to the meter gauge in India(which is fast disappearing under the uni-gauge project)
Interesting , over here we are unable to have anything large due to the country terrain
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand But in most cases the line which get converted to broad gauge(NOT the standard gauge widely used in Europe , USA & China), the lines then turn into mere photo opportunity for politicians with a handful trains introduced, only to be withdrawn from service within an year or less than that. Democracy only needs a show-off development not real development.
@@TrainSpottingNewZealand Also in Jeb Brookes TH-cam Channel i learned that earthquake and other natural calamities is also a challenge.
Hello from India!
Worst honk ever 🤣
SR 6015 as well.
Heading for Workshop at Te Rapa
that just sings 'low air-pressure' to me
No not jammed brakes, that's just normal DL brake block squeal as he slows to go through the turnout.
Nope like i said the brakes jammed and it got left in the loop for a few hours till they had a chance to limp it to Te rapa
Whoops.
Cool video mate!
