I will tell you about schecter...first your wrong only sub par 800 price point schecter are made in Indonesia, the mid range is south Korean which is on par with Japan now. I have a Ibanez Pia and my schecter Elite plays twice as good at a 1299 price. Yes I said Better. Also the Floyd 1500 is better than a original, stainless steel, . I have been a convert for 10 years on schecter their guitars are just better, and their USA stuff is on par with Ernie Ball music man and PRS core .

Jerry doesn't use or recommend JB pickups. He switched to Motor City's 2nd Degree Blackbelt pickups decades ago. Verrry awesome pickups!!! No comparisons!!!

Boomer Sooner! Jerry's Oklahoma roots is one of the many reasons that I've loved his stuff, and Alice in Chains, since the early '90s. Sweet guitar...it's on my list to get ar some point.

I wish these guitars had a belly cut and a neck that won’t break, watching Crimson Guitars for a luthiers take on the Les Paul neck construction, I can’t tell you how many times people have had to get their Les Paul’s necks fixed. It’s 2024 and these guitars are still in the 1950s. And for a Gen Xer I’d prefer a modern construction neck and joints, a volute would be useful. Why do hate Chinese made stuff?

I'm eyeing Miles Dimitri Baker's signature model. IMO that ticks every single box I want. Neck through, great metal/prog duncans, 24 stainless jumbo frets, good quality floyd, etc. Miles is a monster player and he's been using Schecter for years and finally got a sig model. I'm also considering the Exotic wood super shredder model. Very similar hardware but bolt on, different pickups and different aesthetics. These higher end Schecters are on par with the Prestige Ibanez guitars. I paid $1700 for my Indonesian made Strandberg and it's incredible. I would not hesitate to buy another Indonesian guitar as well. Hell, my $700 mexican Charvel has got at least 500 gigs under it's belt since I bought it and all I've done is upgrade the Trem to a German one and changed the pickups. That's it and it's an incredibly reliable workhorse. Edit: Not sure what you're wanting to see from a guitar with a $1500 price tag. That's at the high end of their line and for that price, it needs great wood, great hardware, great fretwork and great customer service. Gibson, Surh, PRS, etc put all of that into their instruments and charge 2 or 3 times the cost. The Schecter USA pickups are used in their USA custom shop instruments. The custom shop builds most of those artists personal instruments. Aaron said as much on Rick Beato's interview but I've played Joe Duplantier's USA and import Charvel side by side and literally zero difference. Even nitpicking the fretwork on the import, I couldn't find any problems.

🤮. Chambered Les Pauls = neutered TONE. My Frampton (chambered) was easily my worst most lifeless ‘Paul. Just by a Studio or PRS if weight is an issue for ya.

I'm gonna agree 100% with everything including esp way back in the day and hating schecter... but now I've got a km6 km7 artist and will have the tao 7 they are INSANE you can get great deals on them if you talk to a sweetwater rep, i was so impressed with the AM7 i played I'd love to have one of those as well and i hate having so many artist models but they are just doing insane stuff with their artists those usa custom pickups are shockingly great honestly (seriously just talk to a rep get 300 or 400 off that's the fair price)

Stainless steel frets are a huge cost upgrade. They wear factory tooling faster and are harder to dress and level. That's where a lot of the price comes from. Try to find a guitar with stainless steel frets for cheaper.

Nice to see a new video! I will say I've noticed Schecter from the opposite end of the spectrum as you. You mention the heavier players & their signature models and I really have taken a liking to their Fender-like offerings. The tele shaped PT series and Nick Johnston's single coil guitar. Both having satin necks is right up my alley. The rising prices for a player or classic vibe series can put you into a well made alternative from other brands. Also the "Mayonnaise" killed me. Never change Billy hahahaha

The Redwing color matched with the gold also the price mine comes in just under 1300 cdn I like it's not exactly a entry level les paul idk because it's a players edition artist edition trying to say all around a saweeet axe!

Thing is for the money you can go wrong with the spec and they have tbh. You have a lot of guitar in 900 dollar range coming with aftermarket pickups, locking tuners, and even stainless steel frets. My question is how is it that these companies can do this for around the same price as the epi wino and Gibson/epi can’t even with Chinese workshop prices. Guitar looks great but so far they are so hit or miss with quality and playability I’ve found. A shame for jerrys name to be associated with it

I'm not at all familiar with Alice In Chains, to the point where I even thought it was "Alison Chains" 😄 But when I saw this guitar I thought it was so handsome that I had to bag one to go along with my white "Inspired By Gibson" LP Custom. For the most part, it's a great instrument, especially for the price. I've changed the pickups on mine for a pair of gold-covered Iron Gear "Hot Slag" which to my ear are far more musical and less "cheap" sounding, especially on clean or mildly overdriven settings. I've also changed the bridge to a far more solidly built Gotoh Ge103B-T. And that's it for mods, apart from some Schaller S Lock strap buttons so I can use the same strap on both guitars. Mine also has a little bit of stain "bleed" here and there into the binding, but as you rightly said, I had to go looking for it! It doesn't really detract from the looks and for that sort of money I can live with it. I've seen worse on Gibsons before now. Yeah, if you like the looks of it, get one. You can't go wrong.

I think the best part about the guitar is that it is a Les Paul Custom with an Ebony Fretboard and a beautiful maple cap. Also, the neck is a custom Slim Taper neck that is not too slim, a really nice neck profile with a great feel to it, very comfortable.
