I find males more easy to train. I disagree with the bonding part too...the males I have had picked specific people within the family to whom they would 'listen" too...the females bonded with everyone regardless.

Totally agree. My female dog does not want to walk - she likes to stay beside me while I work. Very sweet.

My beagle has a lot of these--loves to cuddle with me under the covers, can escape out of anything, and her whole butt wiggles when she wags her tail. She is also stubborn! I love her so much.

I feel like my beagle isn’t food obsessed. Like I gotta make her eat her food. And she whimpers a lot only barks when she wants attention or is bored. Loves toys love cuddles. Only thing that drives me and say is that she will eat chords, but I had to remind myself. She’s only six months this thanksgiving. 💖

I had a beagle.... and must say that ALL of these are important to know when having a beagle!!🐶🐕 The walking is a MUST... I would exercise our dog at Least 60 minutes, once in the morning, just before I go to work, then in the early evening around the blocks of my neighborhood. This helps in getting those nails nice and trim, except that dew-paw. 🚶🚶‍♂ Regular check-ups is a MUST also, every Year she would get one, but for Personal grooming ..... Get Those EARS!!! It is true they do get deposits of junk inside, so keep them healthy!!🦻

I’m 65 years old, I’ve seen all these dogs including recently the Kangal. I work on a horse ranch. This dog had no special training. It has the personality of a golden retriever. People and other dogs come and go all the time. It’s always friendly and even sometimes submissive to make other dogs feel better. She keeps the horses safe from mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, and bears….. Fearless.

1 chihuahua, 2 spaniel, 3 bordercolley, 4 moniture Doberman, 5 pitbulls. The 5th. I oun one. She is scared of cats. But not much more.

Our 6 month old beagle is always looking for a rabbit in a hole somewhere -- even if it's just a potato or canteen under a couch! He acts like he's really hunting a critter! My son says it's instinctual from generations of breeding these dogs to hunt rabbits & such. Funny cuz our beagle found a little stuffed rabbit in our 2 acre yard & it's been his fav thing ever since! 😂 Wish he would've found the real rabbits before they destroyed our garden. Maybe next year.

I would never allow a dog to sleep on my bed but in their bed next to mine.

In the summer she slept on top of the duvet but she is now back under the covers 😊

The "dogs don't like to be hugged". I have 3 great danes, 1 doesn't liked being hugged, the other 2 will push each other out of the way to get hugs in. I think that one may need to be dog specific.

Dachshund is German for badger hound. Weenie dogs killing BADGERS! They were bred to hunt small burrowing animals. So, unlike other breeds, it's normal for them to burrow under blankets, even when it's warm. Any time I'm under a blanket, so it's my dog 😂

You should meet my pointer, the canine embodiment of lethargy. He doesn't even run. The job of a gwp, he tells me with one of his looks, is to point game, not to chase after it. "Are you perhaps mistaking me for a labrador?" he's clearly thinking if I throw a ball or stick for him. And at home he has a selection of chairs, sofas and beds at his disposal - unless we have a houseful at Christmas or similar, on which occasions does not appreciate being expected to lie on the floor. Yes, he is a little spoiled.
