What's better than 1 Gretsch Broadkaster? 2 Gretsch Broadkasters of course. What's better than 2 Gretsch Broadkasters? 3 Gretsch Broadkasters! Well we didn't have 3 Gretsch Broadkasters, but we did have 2 Gretsch Broadkasters, and we had a lot of fun. First session of 2021! Bought some Sennheiser 441 that I'm using on toms. And also using my new Austrian Audio OC818's as overheads. Really happy with the sounds captured! Posting this from the Brisbane 3 day lockdown as the UK variant of Covid has entered Aus. Border is closed to Victoria, hopefully can get home soon enough! How many lugs it have??
Excellent roughs, my man!
Hello Ben I just ordered a snare from Steve and also looking into the metro line of snares as well....I see u use both companies how would you compare the 2 Metro and Evetts?
Is your FT really a 16x14 looks deeper?
Promo-SM ❤️

👏
Did you play the drums on the song just between you and me
The mix sounds perfect, truly inspiring playing. Love your stuff man
what cymbals do you use? they sound amazing!
Right on.
I hate dead low over muffled snares. Ok he’s getting some better sounds now… Those evetts are best sounding kit in the stratosphere
the mid range on a 57 has always sounded like crap to me on a snare. The 201 is super even and open sounding. Def worth the price difference.
The biggest difference between these two mics is... SM57 is a single coil while M201TG is a humbucker. That translate into EMF hum picking noise sucker vs quiet as a mouse pro tool. The choice is all yours. Sold my two SM57 and got them replaced with Beyerdynamic M201TG. What a difference!
remember how you tuned this? piano note wise*
No more cruise ships sir?
Okay, les gooooooo
3:45 Do somebody recognize this song? Thanks in advance 💕
Really good drumming man
That snare drum sounds beautiful! Is it a maple snare drum?
Sounds so brown. Like mahogany, with maybe a bit more attack? Maybe? Hard to tell. But
This was excellent, my dude! Very cool! My mom was a dance professor at San Diego State, so I grew up with this. Awesome work all of you!
Impressive! What a pleasure to hear and watch.
Thanks very much!
Benjamin, absolutely you are a super drummer! Skilled sight reading. Congrats! I have a boring questions, if you can help, surely. I know you are not technical support, but I`ve tried to apply as a drummer with my C-trac on Royal Caribean website, but there is no option to apply as a drummer, specifically. Sorry to bother you, but, do you have some suggestions for me? Wishes!
Hi friend! Best way to get a contract is through an agency. I went through Lime Entertainment.
That`s a great job and a good feeling about the songs, dude. Superb!
AWESOME MAN! killin it!
love the video man! question, do you think a lot of cruise ship gigs (for drummers) require sight reading, or depending on the band or requirement you should just be able to play (and know different grooves)?
The house band job he is doing here absolutely requires sight reading, but you could go on with a function band and play pop/rock songs without reading a note
@@jakehatter5459 thanks!
Habría forma de poder ver las partituras que lees? Para darnos una idea de como están estructuradas 😬
Great man!!!
Nice playing
The whole kit sounds great, but that snare drum. THAT, imo, is what a snare should sound like. Really good stuff...
It can be difficult to find snare mic reviews done on a good sounding, properly tuned snare-- so firstly, thank you for that. Secondly, they both sound like they are capable of giving very usable snare recordings. I was expecting more from the 201 having seen so many reviews claiming that it "blows the 57 away", but it sounds just fine. There is no 1 mic that will sound "the best" on all snares, in my opinion, but these both sound like good, very usable options.
Hear, hear. There are a bunch of different mics I use on snare. The Shure 57, Beyer 201 and 420, AKG 451, c414 and C1000S, Neumann km184, Sennheiser 441. They all have their roles and situations.
How often can you use that drum set for your personal rehearsal? Is the drummer allowed to use it for practice?
Unfortunately I couldn't practice in the theatre, it was used all the time for movies or presentations etc. But I did bring a DW Smart Practise kit on board which I left in the orchestra pit for practice.
I can appreciate reading music as a drummer ...But you should just feel it ....I wish I could read ....You get the parts ...but no song book is gonna get the feeling?
Unfortunately it's not that type of gig. You can't really 'feel' your way through a song that you don't know for the first time, playing in front of 2000 people. Often you will get the sheet music, maybe half a rehearsal and then away you go on the gig, you really have to rely on your reading abilities.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tight Tight Tight
I love what your doing my man!!!! Your so entertaining to watch!! I hope you start making content again soon cause your playings great!! 🥁🥁🥁
Thanks so much mate, appreciate it! It's been a weird time in Australia lately, I haven't been able to get out to my studio because of lockdowns. Hoping to get back out there soon, itching to play some drums and record some tracks!
That old lady loved that chicken groove ! Great
Sounds amazing
you play great, I was working as a drummer in a show band for NCL, without a doubt it is a great experience,
Very Nice! 👏😃😍
Those HHX hats sound great
Awesome sound!! What microphones are you useing?
What an inventive groove. Nicely done. What heads are you rocking on the GW toms? They sound absolutely perfect!
Thanks mate! Those Geo toms open up so well, I love em! I think in this video it was coated ambassadors top and bottom.
Hi benjamin ,i want to ask you , how can aply to this job?, which agencies do you recommend?
CAN i PEASE DANCE WITH YOOU
