What do you do if you don’t have a serger? Also my jersey keeps getting caught in my machine when I backstitch it, why?
Your videos and teaching style are awesome!
You can do things without a serger, but your fabrics might fray a little. Most jerseys will be ok to handle. As for things getting caught in the machine, it's a bit trickier to solve. Some machines are just better at this kind of material than others. You could try making your stitches a bit longer, or backstitch a little before the edge of the fabric so that the edge doesn't get pulled into the feeds.
@@franticseamstress thanks for your tips. I have in and bought a serger. Any chance you’ll be doing more tutorials?
I would have never thought of using velcro! Great video!
I was wondering if adhering strips of wood to the full length of the backs of the foam board would solve the warping issue.
That could work!
How easy would it be for an absolute beginner to make these as shorts? I want to make these but it’s summer and it’s hot out lol
Pretty easy! Just cut the pattern to the length of legs that you want, and the sewing steps will be the same. If you want to make very short "booty" style shorts, it gets a bit trickier. The best thing to do is make a pair out of junk material and adjust them first before cutting your good material.
Thank you what a great tutorial!
What fabric did you use for your shirt here?
It's a very lightweight cotton stretch jersey :)
@@carolemcdonald5699thanks!!
Wonderful project. Thank you.😊
Omg ! I have those little lights but never used it ! Now I know how !
Stuuuning !!! So much good tips in that !!!
Fantastic❤! But the link to the pattern is broken😢
The patterns have been moved to a Google Drive :) drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XfHIMa2KoDnNLD-qkcUr-S_kKe3FFjVm?usp=drive_link
Thank you❤
Thanks for the vídeo. The pattern is off. 404 error
Thank you for uploading the file to the drive
You just singlehandedly fixed all of my "making it folding and portable while using foam board as the base material" problems. You're genius!!! Thank you!! 🤍🤍
What a lovely room! This tutorial will definitely help me in finding a place to display my dolls. I have a question, though, is the chair something you built or bought? I'd love to buy or make one like it!
The chair was 3D printed! I found a free design in 1/12 scale and enlarged it for 1/4 scale :)

3 thumbs up, that's an amazing tutorial, thank you so much. Happy Holidays.
Great make 🤩
Love this! that insulation foam board is a genius idea and your interior decorations are so lovely! I can’t wait to start this project. Thank you!
A question, if I may - for the decorative topstitch on the neckline - did you do that as a standard straight stitch or a chainstitch on your serger? I'm trying to figure out a good way to do this without making the neckline stiff and unstretchable.
Hello! I use a standard straight stitch, but I make the stitches a tiny bit smaller than I regularly use to sew. It's also helpful if you use a stretch needle :)
So sweet... thanks for sharing... Have fun and keep the sparkles on... Lovies Yetta💕
I just found you and am sooooo glad I did! I have recently gotten into making 1/6 th scale doll furniture and knew I was going to need a room to photograph them in. I was thinking I was going to be gluing multiple layers of cardboard together to get a sturdy room, but, thanks to your genius use of insulation foam, I have my answer! And the use of velcro to make it collapsible, the cherry on top! Now....just to get some money in my pocket to go to the hardware store, LOL!
Wow, so impressive! Thank you for sharing this, really appreciate it! I was wondering how people can have this hobby without it taking up so much space. I do have a question for you, regarding the primer used on the insulation boards, can you use regular wall primer from Home Depot and then regular wall paint? I have so much left over from regular home design/remodels. I have subscribed!
Hmm, that is a great question! I haven't used house paint before, but it should work (latex paint). Test a piece first before you commit. I would definitely make sure the paint goes on thin and you let it dry fully between coats. Be careful adding the velcro as the paint might peel off more easily. If you try it, please let me know how it goes!
The finished room is gorgeous! I love this idea. I also build miniatures and photograph my dolls and am running out of storage space. 😀 This is such a convenient and customizable solution. I will definitely have to build my own. Thank you for the inspiration. 💜
Where do you get the book covers to print
I purchased them from Etsy!
@@franticseamstress thanks good to know if i ever get my new printer to cooperate i can buy them too
@@AllisAllAboutminis If you have a print shop near by, it might be nice to get them printed professionally on a semi gloss paper. They will look amazing!
Thank you for this. This a solution for my limited space.
This is such a great idea!! Thank you for sharing😍🤩
I Love this ❤️

Excellent instructions and very creative! My Smartdolls love you. ❤
Thank you! I am looking forward to making move videos over the winter months :)
Madam, thank you very much, can you tell me if those patterns that you give us for free are useful to an msd
Thank you! They are made for Smartdoll specifically so they would be too big for MSD.
She look so cozy!
Your teaching is phenomenal!!!
Thank you so much!
I love this! I might try it. I think it would work well for me since I don't really have room to have a diorama standing all the time, but I would love one for pictures. Thanks for sharing!
It's a great space saver - and you can use both sides of the walls for different projects too!
love your videos!
Great craft. It's such a nice effect
Great diorama, and it looks so neat and pristine. I like making separate walls too, different style walls so I can mix and match them and make the space look different.
Yes! I am currently doing this for my next project (with a garden). I can rework the same walls into a few different configurations, which saves space and materials <3
Very cool!!
I love this! Thank you! Gives me more ideas! I have a plan to build a room on top of an Ikea table, and I've been saving this huge cardboard box, while wondering if it will be sturdy enough. But I think I'll save that for other builds, and do the foam for the walls instead!
I highly recommend the foam over cardboard! It's sturdier and gives you a nice smooth surface for your walls. If you are building a more permanent structure, consider getting the 1" wide foam
@@franticseamstress Thank you!
This is an awesome video. I love your teaching style!! Also, what serger are you using? It looks SO smooth. I need a new one because my Brother is not acting right anymore. But I have had it for a while. Lol.
I have a Brother Lock 1034DX. I sew full time, so it gets a pretty solid amount of use. I am careful to keep it clean of dust, and I get it maintenanced by a technician once a year :)
You made that look easy!!
Love it!! Really easy to follow the instructions
Does stretch fabric require any special thread?
A universal thread will be fine. I do recommend a stretch needle if you have one. If not, using a new sharp sewing needle will help!
Genius!!! I love it ALL!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks so much! 😊
