    Dr. Williams is an inspiration as a doctor who not only is an amazing expert in cardiology and nutrition but also informs us of the big picture for health and many related social and political issues! It’s great to know that the University of Louisville works so hard to serve Kentucky communities. I love the efforts to plant trees in Louisville! Dr. Williams is right on target that plant based nutrition really is planet based nutrition! 😊. We all have our one body to take care of and one planet 🌎 to live on and care for!

    It’s great that science-based doctors like Dr. Williams and Dr, Batiste put the findings out on TH-cam for everyone to see. They are inspiring and concerned physicians! I am old enough to remember being told that skinless chicken was a healthful choice! Today I understand thanks to Dr. Williams and others that it’s much better to turn to lentils, beans, whole grains, and other plant based sources of protein. Many thanks to you both for sharing the benefits of whole food plant based eating and why canola oil and olive oil are much more healthful than butter and palm oil! It’s a reality check to hear Dr. Williams explain that cardiologists actually suffer high rates of heart attacks despite their training and experience. This shows how American medicine needs to incorporate the truth of nutrition studies like the Framingham Study into the everyday practice of medicine and cardiology.

I do think it's best for me to try to understand how what you're doing works for you. Thank you for sharing. while I suspect you are mostly extremely young fit people who can withstand plant toxins. Personal experience and further extrapolation I don't see plants working well without copious exercise

    notes: not all facts are equal in importance and relevant to happiness. what truths let us live lives worth living? fulfilled, balanced, harmonious, good, meaningful lives. data must be discussed and processed to make a difference. mines must be mined and refined to make a difference in the economy, in manafacturing, in our wallets. the process that comes after we have the data is just as important as the process of acquiring the data. public policy and community interventions are effective in some environments and ineffeective in others. know the listener. know the patient. know the individuals who make the decisions that matter for being healthy. what is easy for this type of person? what is diifcult for this type of person? which intervention takes advantage of their skills, their habits, their fears, their desires? when it comes to health and health research, ask for the evidence. ask for studies. ask for what makes a difference and is that difference consistent and replicated over and over again? is this conclusion with or against the consensus of research as a whole? red flag!

  • @MarshBrik
    @MarshBrik ปีที่แล้ว

    notes: what is the scope and relevant questions of modern nutrition research and guidelines? they ask what parts make up our food and how much of those little parts do we need? but the effects we desire are not from parts of food but foods themselves. parts interact with different parts. parts interact with different wholes. there isnt a golden singular biochemical cellular mechanism that has the power to explain meaningful health outcomes. there are metabolic observations with no identified mechanism. but we cant deny the observation because we dont understand the isolated mechanism. we can know that something exists without knowing why it exists. nutritional reserach is more than studying parts of food, nutrients, and functions of molecules. lifestyle medicine is more practical and actionable then typical medicine because typical medicine is focused on isolating little parts and molecules that can be sold and marketed
