Which One The Police Officers Are Using?

Believe it of not, I carry this while traveling across Europe. Had to use it a couple time to scare pickpocket away.

A mile away; Ok thats well and good. But, under what conditions? This girl is in an open field where there are no obstructions. But what if you are in suburbia where there is background noise from traffic and where there are structures such as brick buildings etc. And, you need to remember that everybody's hearing is different too. Personally, I think that 1 mile away is rubbish. It's unrealistic. So, to the manufacturer of this whistle, I'll put this to you. The only way you will convince me is if you conduct a proper test on youtube and present the results. And I mean a proper test, not just standing in an open paddock somewhere and blowing this whistle as loud as you can.

In the UK military SAR we have since WWII used the ACME Thunderer but I have switched to the Fox 40 Sonik Blast CMG.

Would love to see this demo done in water rather than a field so that we can see (and hear) how fast those chambers clear of water.

My opinion: the classic is actually superior if used indoors. There's just something in the way it distributes the sound all around... For outdoor usage, the SB will make a better result. P. S. There is indeed a Fox40 Classic +CMG variant so you can enjoy both the modern teeth cushioning along with the traditional sound of a vintage Classic 😀 I own both the Classic CMG & Sonik Blast CMG, and I love them both. 😊

My hearing goes dull and my ears ring after blowing the whistle just once. Do yours? I just don't understand how these whistles don't cause long-term hearing damage unless you're wearing ear plugs. Maybe my hearing is just more sensitive?

I have the Fox 40. The problem with these whistles is that you're getting all that decimal sound right into your ears because of where the holes are located. I like the storm whistle. Because you have a big hole in the front and the sound goes out away from you.

I use mine (F40SB) (safety landyard) for city biking!!! Haven't used it to keep annoying dogs away but maybe it would work, otherwise I'd use an Air Horn. This is great for biking and traffic! I love mine. It's also in case I crash.
