The parts that were straight are probably because the perm lotion didn't saturate the hair enough. Make sure your sections aren't bigger than the rod and really saturate the hair on the rod. Also, you don't need to dry your hair before the neutralizer, just a good towel dry will do. You can also add some product in your hair to help get through those couple of days. I know this video is old, but in case anyone wonders what to do to help with the issues you had. Your end result looked very nice. It really suits you.

You may have some bits that didn't quite take, but that makes it look more natural, I think. If it's perfect everywhere, it "looks" permed. Good job, girl! Looks great 👍

I only saw her roll the top . She did not show he rolling anything else! I would still go to a professional to get my perm , to get a proper roll and timing

U get that line from having the rods on to tight. U want them u have a little bit a room to move so they dont make the line impression

I know this video is old but if you have dyed or chemically treated hair in any way you have to use a perm for chemically treated hair so it doesn’t damage it more

looks fab..I'm about to do mine.as for styling I use a mixture of foam mouse an conditioner mixed.or just conditioner an let it dry by itself but scrunching with my hand.keeps the curls crisp

Courtney, I've been doing my own hair for over 45 years. I'm by no means a licenced hairstylist, but having been doing it as long as I have, I have to admit I've been able to do a pretty good job doing it. If that's the first time you've permed your own hair you did a pretty good job on it.

It looked like your roll up was good. Maybe your hair dried before perm solution went on. It tends to roll off dry hair.

Due to Coronavirus Pandemic, circuit breaker. I'm need to perm my hair @ home. I saw your video & find is easy to perm. Look great & gorgerous. I want to know how you curl the back of your hair. My hair is shorter & needs to purchase all the products before I perm. Please advise.👍👏😊

You can wet and condition it before 48 hours but you just can’t use shampoo before 48 hrs. Looks good. I’m amazed at how well you did by yourself! That’s hard to do!
