I just found your channel. Your stuff here is genuinely amazing dude! Quick question if you’re open to it: what was the main thing(s) you did/do to reach your level of playing, like what pushed you over that gap? I can learn a lot of fru’s live stuff by ear (slowly) and have pretty ok technical ability but I can’t translate what I hear/wanna hear into my playing very well Thank you either way!
Thank you! I know you might not want to hear this basic answer but you said you're able to learn by ear and have ok technical ability- the answer would be to continue practicing A LOT. It comes after hours and hours of improvising and playing things that might sound bad in the beginning but instead of giving up, push through that phase because eventually it will sound good if you keep trying. That's something you need to do consistently if that makes sense?? Lol hope this helps!
