What you need to do, is start investigating every case she has ever been involved with. and if you find things that look funny, then reach out to the people involved with the cases, and see what other immoral and or possibly illegal things/filings she has been involved in. If she is immoral with you, then guaranteed there are others.

They are correct. The appropriate next step would be to appeal the original case, stating ineffective assistance of counsel. If a judge agrees, you get to relitigate the original case, and you can take action against any licenses.

Such a wild situation… if you aren’t the victor, I will lose all faith in the legal system (which foundation was shaky to begin with). Sorry you’re being subjected to this but you will get through it, and you’re fight will have protected others from getting steamrolled by this unethical lawyer who, if there is any justice in this world, will lose her license due to her behavior. Unethical behavior is somewhat tolerated if it is in the pursuit of zealous advocacy for a client, but I don’t think it’s going to go over well with the courts when a lawyer is engaging in it for their own personal benefit. Janet is a menace and a disgrace to the profession.

I am also in the middle of a legal battle (my first one) and I empathize with all the stressful emotions. I was so unaware of how no matter how right you are and how many facts are on your side, there is so much legal mumbo jumbo that people can throw at you to mess up your case. It is scary and freakin' expensive to fight for yourself. Stay strong! I wanted to give up so many times but am fighting to be a good role model for my daughter. I already knew Schmulta didn't support brands owned by people of color, heck they don't even give a crap about customers who are poc! I live in a predominantly white town and when I asked two of their staff members why they didnt have _A SINGLE FOUNDATION IN STOCK THAT MATCHED MY SKIN TONE,_ and seemed to just not carry brands that were known for being inclusive, *THEY TOLD ME TO "JUST FIND A BRONZER IN YOUR SHADE AND USE THAT"* .....I asked them if they were seriously telling me to use a bronzer as foundation and they genuinely didn't think there was anything wrong with that🤦🏾‍♀️
