    Hi from the UK. Thank you so much for this video. I'm 3 months in after a sesamoid fracture on my right foot. Unfortunately, I had an Xray within days of the injury, but it came back clear. So struggled like hell with it. Carried on like normal. Like you it swelled a hell of a lot. it was only when I went private, I saw a specialist and had an MRI. and there it was. Remarkably he said it had started to fuse back together. Yesterday I had a Cortisone injection in the bone. This hurt so much. If you don't mind me asking how long did it take to recover both times? I'm a runner, and it's so frustrating not being able to run. I have tight calves and high arches on my feet. This I've been told is the reason for the fracture. Take care.

      The first time it took approximately 2 months to heal and the 2nd time it took about 3 months. Maybe a little longer to "completely" heal. Talk with your specialist and get their thoughts, personally, I took my Podiatrists advice not to put weight on it after I realized it was truly fractured. Sounds like you are on the right path and wish you a speedy recovery.

    Thank you for making this video. I would like to reiterate what he said about seeing your local doctor asap for an x-ray. I injured my foot late September 2023 and went to urgent care the next day, but the x-ray tech said it wasn't broken. Tried to rest a lot but still had frequent pain and finally saw a podiatrist February 2024, --- turns out, yes, my sesamoid had been fractured for over 4 months. It's still not great; def improved but can't jump or run or do pushups on my toes like I used to. One of the things that held me back from seeing another doctor was that I just didn't want to spend more money for someone to tell me it's not broken again. But I would advise that if you have doubts, see a specialist instead of urgent care (and don't wait as long as I did), and consider that peace of mind knowing what's wrong and why is worth your money. Remembering to thank God for the rest of the body that does work was helpful too.

    The Chan Brothers are amazing. They're so full of energy and you feel more alive in their presence. Some of the best people I've ever met. And yes, I can personally say that Ned hits hard without trying. Ouch!

    • @sifugrant4468
      @sifugrant4468 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree, there are not a lot of people left in the world that truly "live" martial arts. The Chan Brothers have a passion for martial arts. They inspire me to train and want to learn. When I first met them 25 plus years ago, Ned invited me to the restaurant. Come by around 10pm he said. We didn't leave until 6am the next day and even though I had 10 years of experience in various martial arts, that night forever changed my life. I left thinking, "I now realize, I am only a beginner." There are few people alive today that can truly teach you the detail associated with traditional martial arts.

    Hey man its been almost 2 months since my injury and it has healed but my big toe only has about 50-75% movement and i can sometimes still feel the sharp pain where the sesamoid is if i press really hard, am i screwed or will it get better? I also went walking and my foot didnt hurt but my toe swelled back up a little.

    • @sifugrant4468
      @sifugrant4468 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, my sesamoid is totally healed and it took 3 months before I put weight on it and 6 months in total until I had no pain. I am able to exercise, but I stay clear of jumping or any type of exercise that puts a lot of stress on my feet (getting close to 50 in a few months doesn't help either). It can be a very frustrating injury so do your research and pray. Perhaps reading some of my previous replies might also give you some good reference material. Stay positive and I pray you have a full recovery.
