34:56 Midge was always great on camera..
Nozin' Around.....
Coolest Theme tune ever by Fusion Rock gods Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer ... !!
Why is he wearing a star trek costume?
Alison Moyet lose weight so pretty nowadays ❤❤❤❤
Proper order 👍
hard . inspired bollox
Groundbreaking, never been close to anything so good in 40 years.
When popstars knew their craft and was therefore worthwhile interviewing
The audience aren't moving
17:10 He humiliated her and he was trying not to. No one sings like him.
Despite the good band performances This is a mess and repeats at 1:05:30. And big complaint for no footage of The Fall, Warsaw/Joy Division and Cabaret Voltaire, to name just a few.
29:40 Larry Wallis (pink fairies, motorhead) and Elvis Costello performing with Nick Lowe.
21:29 Dr Feelgood influence on the Jam's early days ?????
But John Lydon has clearly said he/ they were influenced by British and German bands. And said they hadn't heard of the American bands.
Those 220 nuclear missiles in Scotland didn't seem too close then..near but not on there way..
Jooles Holland is a pretentious knob.
I’ve forgotten how good the Gogos actually were oh my - sometimes I wish it was the early 80’s once more
Yazoo ..Iconic music for the generation. You guys should be proud, love the raw vox Alison. I still live the 80s in many ways.
Wonder what ever happened to Strange Days....
Belinda Carlisle was a chubster.
Steve fucking Cram in a Top Man sweater. Oh my days ...
its the tfi friday from the start
Do you Simon and Paula fancied each other
Grace Jones might have been in Blade Runner!
I missed The Tube first time round but in my defence I was 12. I was not ready for the background beyond the tunes of the day. So much content in this one episode- I thought it must be a compilation.
Paula Yates was amazing😍.
Roger Taylor was my favorite, he was the cutest ❤
Yazoo 53.00 brilliant
His voice is incredible. Is it Eric Burden ? Wow something other about it. Free.... oh yea)
👍
👍
0:07 he missed the eighties by some margin didnt he? 😅
I was looking forward to seeing Scritti Politti singing live... I wonder why they skipped??🤨😉
interesting show though apart from the Maisonettes and the Go-Gos, most of the modern music in this episode is terrible :D
I remember this edition at the time. Simple Minds live then were untouchable. Someone Somewhere in Summertime is still extraordinary.
That Eric Burdon film looks a riot.
I keep forgetting that I have the Grace Jones one man show on video, I need to transfer to digital!! I LOVE that film, the epitome of the early 80s❤❤
Terrestrial TV has nothing like this now. They stopped shows like this, and even TOTP. No wonder no-one watches those channels anymore! I'll never forget seeing my hero on the Tube - Paul Haig. BIG BLUE WORLD! ps Seeing Eric and Alf with Jools on piano... that is one major moment!
The first band reminds me of bands I played back then. Not really nailing it at all. But really really wanting to be good.
Difficult enough to get past the idiot northern presenter, but that band after was too much.
80s Muzak was pretty awful bar Level 42 & a few others. Bananarama with zero musical talent & singing proficiency.
can you list whos on it man .. ?
Wild to see Harry Perry (The rollers skating guitar player) on Venice Beach all that time ago - He's not changed all that much
We got the re-runs at home in Australia and stopped so quickly.. heartbroken at 9!! I waited a lifetime to watch it and haven't stopped since I got here.. long ago... Funny how life goes.. I miss Paula still, that heartbreak will never leave. Thank you gorgeous girl.xx
Music programming back then was so much more exciting and “edgy” - with the live audience interaction, filming the queue outside, the live playing. The somewhat haphazard feel as it was all live - great stuff - nothing now comes close - Jools Hollands live-ish show is ok but nowhere near as good as this got…..
Tine was a must watch for 80s teenager, punk, new wave, disco.. fabulous ❤
Jools is still an annoying little T. WAT.
I was 7 in 1983 and even at that age thought Paula Yates was Gorgeous ( little perv )
Blonde presenter a bit of a pratt
