National Anthem of Rhodesia (1974-1979) : Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia

"Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia" (or "Voices of Rhodesia") was the national anthem of Rhodesia and Zimbabwe Rhodesia (renamed Zimbabwe in April 1980) between 1974 and 1979. The tune was that of "Ode to Joy", the Fourth Movement from Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, which had been adopted as the official European continental anthem by the Council of Europe in 1972 (it remains the European Union's anthem today). The music used in Rhodesia was an original sixteen-bar arrangement by Captain Ken MacDonald, the bandmaster of the Rhodesian African Rifles. A national competition was organised by the government to find an appropriate set of lyrics to match the chosen tune, and won by Mary Bloom of Gwelo.
In the fallout from Rhodesia's Unilateral Declaration of Independence from the United Kingdom on 11 November 1965, the country still claimed loyalty to Queen Elizabeth II as its professed head of state, and so retained "God Save the Queen" as its national anthem. With Rhodesia's reconstitution in 1970 as a republic, however, the royal anthem was dropped along with many other references to the monarchy, leaving it without a national anthem until it adopted "Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia" in 1974. The national anthem lost its legal status in December 1979, when the United Kingdom retook interim control of the country pending its internationally recognised independence as Zimbabwe five months later. Rhodesia's use of the well-known Beethoven tune has since caused the playing of "Ode to Joy" to be controversial in modern-day Zimbabwe.

Bài “Này công dân ơi” của ngụy quyền SG nguyên là Bản nhạc “Lamarche des étuduants” - Hành khúc sinh viên do hai học sinh trường TH Petrus Ký sáng tác năm 1939: Mai Văn Bộ sáng tác lời (bằng tiếng Pháp), Lưu Hữu Phước sáng tác phần nhạc. Năm 1941, Lưu Hữu Phước ra học Trường Y Đông Dương Hà Nội, Lưu Hữu Phước hưởng ứng phong trào đấu tranh của nhân dân Việt Nam chống Pháp giành độc lập. Do vậy, ông cùng những sinh viên yêu nước khởi xướng phòng trào: Sinh viên ra trường quyết không đi làm cho Pháp. Năm 1942, trước đông đảo thanh niên sinh viên dưới chân núi Nghĩa Lĩnh trước đền Hùng- Phú Thọ, Lưu Hữu Phước chuyển lời Pháp trong bản nhạc thành lời Việt (Hành khúc sinh viên) làm bài ca cho phong trào thanh niên sinh viên đấu tranh chống thực dân Pháp. Bảo Đại (do Pháp dựng lên năm 1949) đã ăn cắp bản nhạc này, sửa phần lời “Này sinh viên ơi” thành Này công dân ơi”... làm quốc ca. Năm 1955, Mỹ dựng Ngô Đình Diệm và VNCH tiếp tụchats nhái bản nhạc ăn căn cắp này suốt mấy chục năm. Suốt cả cuộc đời ngụy vnch không một ai có đủ năng lưc sáng tác bài khác để thay thế. Họ đành nói bừa: "Thôi kệ, mình cứ tiếp ca bản nhạc của thằng đảng viên ĐCSVN, chắc nó không biết đâu". Cờ vàng 3 sọc đỏ chính là cờ vàng 3 sọc xanh của Nước Cộng hòa Nam kỳ Tự trị là xứ thuộc địa Pháp (Pháp gọi là vùng đất xa) do toàn quyền Dargenlieu lập ra năm 1946-1948, dưới quyền quản lý trực tiếp của CP Pháp. Quốc kỳ Nước Cộng hòa Nam kỳ Tự trị nền vàng 3 sọc xanh, quốc ca là bài Chinh phụ ngâm (vợ chờ chồng. Ranh giới nước Cộng hòa Nam kỳ Tự trị từ Bình Thuận đến Cà Mau gọi là Coxinsin (Từ Ninh Thuận ra đến Thanh Hóa theo chế độ bảo hộ -Trung kỳ bảo hộ - gọi là Anamite; Bắc kỳ trực trị, ranh giới từ Ninh Bình đến hết miền Bắc - gọi là Tongkin). Lý do đổi cờ vàng 3 sọc xanh thành 3 sọc đỏ vì màu xanh đi với màu vàng là biểu tượng của bệnh sốt rét. Năm 1949, Pháp dựng lá bài QGVN, phong Bảo Đại làm quốc trưởng. Bảo Đại tiếp tục dùng cờ của Nước Cộng hòa Nam kỳ Tự trị, đổi sọc xanh thành sọc đỏ. Sau năm 1954, Ngô đình Diệm và Mỹ cưởng chiếm miền Nam dựng lên ngụy quyền VNCH (ngày 26.10.55), tiếp tục sử dùng cờ vàng 3 que đỏ của Bảo Đại.
SỰ RA ĐỜI VÀ DIỆT VONG CỦA NGỤY QUYỀN VNCH VNCH là bộ náy lắp ráp bằng phế liệu. Cụ thể như sau: 1/ Trước năm 1955, làm gì có cái VNCH. Tổ chức VNCH mới xuất hiện sau khi Pháp xâm lược VN bị bại trận tại Điện Biên Phủ, rút quân về nước. Mỹ vào thay chân Pháp tiếp tục cuộc chiến tranh xâm lược Việt Nam theo “Kế hoạch Memphis” của Mỹ - xây dựng miền Nam Việt Nam thành tiền đồn - Mỹ gọi là Be bờ Cộng sản”. Mỹ góp nhặt phế liệu từ tổ chức Etat du VN/QGVN (1949-1954) của Pháp bỏ lại để lắp ráp thành bộ máy VNCH vào ngày 26/10/1955 (ngày tự xưng và là ngày quốc khánh của tổ chức này). Bộ máy gồm các bộ phận như sau: 2/ Tổng Thống: là Ngô Đình Diệm (theo Phát xít Nhật), bị Bảo Đại (theo Pháp) bỏ ra (không cho làm TTg Đê quốc VN của Nhật, Nhật chọn Trần Trọng Kim), Anh ruột Diệm là Ngô Đình Khôi và con Khôi là Ngô Đình Huân ủng theo phát xít Nhật và bị giết. Ngô Đình Diệm chạy trốn được Vatican và Mỹ đem về nuôi dưỡng từ 1945 -1954 rồi đưa về Sài Gòn cầm đầu bộ máy này. Bộ máy phế liệu gồm toàn bộ các quan chức tay sai trong bộ máy cầm quyền thực dân Pháp tại Việt Nam bỏ lại và một số quan chức khác do Mỹ đào tạo đưa về Sài Gòn cùng lúc với Ngô Đình Diệm từ ngày 7.7.54, trước khi kí hiệp đình Geneve 2 tuần (20/7/54 mới ký). Chỉ võn vẹn 20 năm cai trị miền nam, Ngô Đình Diệm và những người cầm đầu kế tục dã gây không biết bao nhiêu tội ác đối với nhân dân Việt Nam. 2/ Quân lính: Nòng cốt là 200 ngàn sỹ quan, binh lính Pháp gốc người Viêt do quân Pháp đào tạo, chỉ huy, phục vụ quân đội liên hiệp Pháp để xâm lược Việt Nam bị đánh bại và đầu hàng năm 1954 được Mỹ gom lại làm chỗ dựa vũ lực cho Ngô Đình Diệm. Về sau, họ tổng động viên bắt lính nâng số lượng các loại lính lên gần 1 triệu rưởi người Tất cả nằm dưới sự chỉ huy cua gần 600 ngàn quân viễn chinh Mỹ và đồng minh của Mỹ. 3/ Quốc kỳ thì lấy cờ vàng 3 sọc đỏ của Etat du VN/QGVN quân Pháp bỏ lại. Cờ này, phỏng theo cờ của nước Cộng hòa Nam Kỳ tự trị do toàn quyền Pháp Dargenlieu lập ra ở Nam K, sau khi đánh chiếm nam bộ Việt Nam. Có ý kiến nói: Diệm lấy cờ quẻ ly của “Đế quốc Việt Nam” đổi thành cờ quẻ Kiền (nền vàng 3 vạch đỏ liền). Đế quốc Việt Nam do Phát xít Nhật dựng lên sau khi Nhật lật đổ quyền cai trị VN của thực dân Pháp ngày 6.3.1945 và tồn tại đén tháng 8.1945. Quốc ca thì ăn cắp bản nhạc “Tiếng gọi thanh niên” của đảng viên ĐCSVN Lưu Hữu Phước, chế lời thành “ Này công dân ơi” để ca hát suốt mấy chục năm. 4/ Tiền nuôi ăn bộ máy, vũ khí, quân trang, quân dụng, nhà tù phương tiện làm việc, thủ đoạn cai trị, lật đổ, giết người... tất tần tật đều là mưu sách của CIA và 5 đời TT Mỹ. Nhất là quyết định của tổng thống Hoa Kỳ Eisenhower khi giao nhiệm vụ cho Diệm về Sài Gòn thực hiện “Kế hoạch Memphis” - xây dựng miền Nam Việt Nam thành tiền đồn “Be bờ Cộng sản” của Mỹ thời chiến tranh lạnh. 5/ Bầu cử: Ngoài việc tranh giành đấu đá của mấy chục đảng phái xôi thịt do nước ngoài bảo trợ trong các lần bầu bán nghị viên và hội đồng các cấp, ngụy quyền SG có 4 lần bầu bán tổng thống: -Lần1- 1955: Trưng cầu dân ý, quy định chỉ bầu phiếu đỏ cho Ngô Đình Diêm, phiếu xanh Bảo Đại bỏ giỏ rác. -Lần 2/1961: Độc diễn của Ngô Đình Diệm - của độc đảng đảng Cần Lao nhân vị/Thiên chúa giáo, các đảng phái khác bị diệt sạch. -Lần 3 (1967) và Lần 4 (1971): là độc diễn cũng của liên danh 2 tên sỹ quan Pháp gốc Việt: Thiệu và Kỳ. Năm 1975: Khi Mỹ thua chạy, tất cả đám phế liệu này đạp nhau chạy, đứa to chạy trước, đứa nhỏ chạy sau, bỏ lại đám tàn binh trước sức tiến công như vũ bão của quân dân Việt Nam. 6/ Thành tích của tổ chức phế liệu này: Là kéo dài sự xâm lược của Pháp bằng sự xâm lăng chia cắt Việt Nam của Mỹ, gây không biết bao nhiêu tội ác suốt 30 năm, giết hại hàng triệu dân, hủy diệt hàng ngàn làng quê VN bằng bom đạn và chất độc màu da cam. Giao cho TQ và các nước ĐNA chiếm hết quần đảo Hoàng Sa và một phần quần đào Trường Sa của Việt Nam. 7/ Về cai trị: 20 năm, chúng chỉ cai trị bộ máy cầm quyền các cấp. Hầu hết nhân dân miền Nam đều tham gia chống Mỹ và bọn tay sai bán nước. Năm 1973 Mỹ ký hiệp định Paris với CP VNDCCH và CP CM miền Nam Việt Nam cuốn cờ về nước. “Mỹ cút, ngụy nhào”- Người cầm đầu và bộ máy phế liệu VNCH đầu hàng vô điều kiện quân Giải phóng trước sức tiến công như vũ bảo của quân dân Việt Nam quét sạch quân xâm lược và rác phế liệu ra khỏi biên cương Tổ quốc, thu cả giang sơn Việt Nam về một mối vào ngày 30.4.1975.
Fact: this song was originally composed as March of the Students by Lưu Hữu Phước, a SOCIALIST, in 1939. Lưu Hữu Phước also made a strong criticism against the Saigon regime's use of the song. In 1949, he made a protesting letter, which the communist radio broadcaster Voice of Vietnam broadcasted his criticisms. Bản dịch tiếng Việt: bài hát này ban đầu được sáng tác vào năm 1939 với tên gọi Tháng Ba Sinh Viên bởi Lưu Hữu Phước, một người CỘNG SẢN, theo CHỦ NGHĨA XÃ HỘI. Lưu Hữu Phước cũng đã lên tiếng chỉ trích mạnh mẽ việc chính quyền Sài Gòn sử dụng bài hát này. Năm 1949, ông viết một lá thư phản đối và được Đài Tiếng nói Việt Nam phát đi những lời chỉ trích.
