Making a wooden ring on a lathe and scroll saw
Making a wooden (cherry) ring. The first part is turned on the lathe and then the shape is refined on the scroll saw. After testing the strength, I vacuum impregnate the ring with natural oil using a simple syringe. This technique gives a strong and durable ecological finish. Woodturning a hollow Christmas bauble from pear wood. I basically turn it as a small thin hollow form with a small opening and a cap. No glue or other chemicals used.

Woodturning a Tippe top from some Zirbe (Pinus Cembra) wood. I turn it between centers, including the hollowing and finish it off the lathe with a sharp knife and some sandpaper. Visit my website at www.samcoeck.be for more of my woodturning work.
Hello; is it possible to make a big one of 150mm diameter?
That is awesome. Your tools look really sharp....may I ask what jig or system you use to sharpen them? I am a newbie that needs to sharpen immediately but don't have a way yet!
I found out his secret, and you? shpws.me/Rp5P
I just ran across your site and subscribed. I have tried making a tippe top without much success, and that was with dimensions. I don't know if you had any or not, but you inspired me to try again, thanks.
wow! I would never be able to do that
