Κότσαρι(Πόντος)- Kotsari (Pontus)
มุมมอง 107K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Kotsari is a dance from Pontus. It derives from the Greek "κότσι" (in Pontic Greek "κοτς") meaning "heel" (from Medieval Greek "κόττιον" meaning the same) and "αίρω" meaning "raise", all together "raising the heel", since the Greeks consider the heel to be the main part of the foot which the dancer uses. This song is played with Pontian Lyra, the main instrument of the Greek Pontian music. The ...

To understand how greeks are the most influential civilization in the region, we can see that 95% of turkish cities were built by Greeks.
my older relatives used to live in Pontos (Black Sea region of turkey that belongs to Greece) and my father went to visit turkey and found that many homes were Greek, very accurate
Great song, love from Turkey🇹🇷
Ora et Labora. Betet und Arbeitet. pray and work.
That name, song and dance belongs to Minor Asian mixture, not Greeks. The word is most likely derived by the Armenians from the nomadic Turks ''Koçar'' literally means ''The one who moves'' referring nomadic people. Armenians, Georgians, Pontians, Turks and Kurds all have the same word, some lost it in time, dance and song with their own fashion and style. This music and dance is the Pontian version of it and Muslim Pontians of Turkey which they call themselves as Türk, still playing and dancing with it in weddings etc. No matter what nation they belong, dumb nationalists always try to have everything good for themselves and enflame hatred towards the other by sapping the truth.
Pontics were not Muslim, and there is no such thing as Turks being pontian. Also to correct you, turkey didn’t even exist before the 20th century, Pontos is over 2000 years old, now you tell me which came first. Turkish is also a far younger language, as in the ancient times the Persians and ottomans spoke Arabic.
also pontos is in Asia Minor dummy
the other nearby nations had versions sure, but don’t be a hypocrite to your own saying and start going after Greece and saying we stole it
Pontos is in Asia Minor, so your first statement makes no sense
@@goose_joose2621 There are too much wrongs of 19th century cliché nonsenses burried deep in your answer i just can't decide which one to correct first. Have you ever visit the region? There are countless people still speaking their mother language but following Islam religion; these are Muslim people of Pontian origin. That region colonised by Hellenic speaking people of Aegean sea, the most likely and heavily from Crate and Izmir, began 3000 years ago. When they came there were relatives of Georgians and Caucasian people. Thanks to their trade ties they got richer, created a ruling class and assimilate their predecessors/native neighbours. "Ottomans" began as a Turkish speaking clan but evolved to a Balkan state with the conquest of Constantinople. Ruling class spoke a heavily modified language which combining Turkish, Greek, Arabic, Persian, Italian and Serbian; then French added with the Napolenic era. Common people of various origin and culture spoke their own language in their daily life. Ottomans generally did not push people to conversion of religion because both "main" religions had their own advantages according to them; Muslim population used/served as a muscle force with relatively low taxing rates. Christian population got used as a taxing cow with high taxation on them; both suffered one way or another. That "Turkishness" thrived after the fall of Mongol/Ilkhante. They replaced classic minor Asian autocracy with the Turkish one to rule the region more effectively. When they gone there were openings for minor Turkish elites, such as Ottoman family of maximum 200 tent population, opportunity to fill that power gap, they succeeded eventually by transition it to a Balkan state ruled by Balkan rooted people for centuries. They copy cated Roma as much as they can but with an Islamic touch. Hellens and Turks were all invaders at the end of the day. They both managed to convert/assimilate native people of minor Asia and created their version of statehoods. "Who came first" is a dead-end argument since native people kept adopting custom, language and religion of the invaders for centuries. Also, your narrative is out dated and beg to be upgraded since it belongs to the 19th and 20th century Euro-centric baseless bullshits. It served for western european literature well enough and completed its' life for quite some time. I suggest you to follow the recent and educate yourself.

Beautiful Greek music 🇬🇷 People can try to claim it for themselves, but history states pretty clearly what Epirus was and is - Greek 😁 In fact it is the Greekest region and the place of origin of the Dorian Greeks - It can't get more Greek than that! 🇬🇷
how can be greek if it was a considered a barbaric state? how can be greek if Pyrrhus took refuge at the illyrians and raised by them? how can these music above be greek ^ if its way to sing is based on Albanian folklore. greek a shit bro xD

This kind of music(greek word), music instruments such as αυλός- aulos, δίαυλος- diaulos, μονοκάλαμος ή σύριγξ- monokalamos or syrigx, άσκαυλος-askaulos, πολυκάλαμος-polykalamos, σύριγξ-syrigx, σάλπιγξ-salpigx, κοχλός-kohlos, κέρας-keras and choreographies (greek word) were ancient greek cultural elements which characterised and accompanied life of greeks and other cultural groups who lived in nothern greek teritorries through the siecles. They existed even in greek culture and lifestyle much before Homer (ancient greek Ὅμηρος Hómēros) wrote Ilias and Odyssee where you can obviously perceive how greeks danced and celebrated life and death. I love so much greek music and traditions. Im romanian but I might have greek origins. Probably my ancestors migrated to southern Romania in 18th century. Long live the noble and old greek nation!

It's from Thrace, far northern Greece, which is why it has a stereotypically Balkan sound, with some Slavic influence
From Iran to the USA gainta is used. I don't think those Slavic tribes gave it to them.
There is no Slavic influence. Slavs play bagpipes in completely different way.Just compare Belorussian and polish bagpipe (duda) with Serbian and Greek Gajda. This is our authentic Balkan sound.
@@gkev8095 no meant to confuse you, but "Balkan slavs" are just as much slavs as belorusians are. Greeks outside Northern Greece do not have that Balkan vibe, guess why: no slavic influence Balkan slavs are actually the most representative Slavs
@@snowman9452 "Slavs outside Balkans don't have that Balkan vibe, guess why:no (western)Balkan influence". Non Balkan bagpipe have completely different sound, and non Balkan bagpipe players play another melodies. Just compare Gajde with Duda. Balkan slavs are slavs linguistically, but in another things you can't find lot of similarities between us and other slavs. We have another history, we leave in another cultural and geographic area, and this is why we have another genetics, another traditions, another folk costumes, another mentality etc. Slavs are just linguistical group, so don't mix us with other folks.
@@gkev8095 if you ask an average Italian, Spanish or Greek, especially from Southern Greece, he/she will have a very hard time to tell between Serbs, belarusians and Poles. Sorry but, i dont see these terrible differences, you are all the equally continental people in the end As for bagpipes in particular, duda and Western Balkan bagpipes rather sound less Slavic than gaida does, Exactly because they have Germanic influence that Balkan Slavs lack. Balkan Slavs really are the purest slavs, the least non-slavic influenced of all. The rest of slavs have assimilated non-Slavic/Germanic things
