Normandy American Cemetery Memorial Ceremony
On our Viking Paris & Heart of Normandy River Cruise, we visited the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy, France. The cemetery staff arraigned a memorial ceremony for the Viking guests and two veterans from our group laid a memorial wreathe followed by a moving rendition of Taps. A very powerful and emotional experience.

On Feb 6, 2020 we were sailing between Puerto Madryn Argentina and Montevideo Uruguay when we had clear skies but 40-60kt winds. The pandemic pretty much shut down the cruise industry. We were able to get in one cruise in early 2020 before everything shutdown. This was the Viking South America & Chilean Fjords Ocean Cruise which was amazing. Regarding the dancing guy, most likely he's not just an enthusiatic spectator who joined in, but also part of the group, practicing his "Gramillero" role (only that he's not wearing the proper clothing because this is just a rehearsal). The "real" day, when they march in formation during the "Llamadas" parade, there are several characters accompanying the drummers: "La Mama Vieja", "El escobero", "El gramillero" etc. each of them performing a traditional role of black people's social organization back in the old times (even from the times of slavery). El gramillero was kind of a witch doctor who cured people by using plants etc . The "real " day he will use a false long white beard, a formal suit, etc Thanks for the upload!
