In memory of my grandpa Roger #amandajo

Funny how everything comes full circle- used to play this from my dad's record collection when I was very young and life was the opposite of complicated; my biggest challenge was keeping my Huffy road-worthy(ish). Then life: Complex, tough issues to deal with on a daily basis. A rollercoaster. Very rewarding yet also... relentless. Fast forward 50 years, sitting next to a warm fire on our property behind our home holding that "bourbon in a glass" in one hand and the other on the knee of my wife of 25 years. Our three teenage/20 something children there as well, all of us reminiscing and laughing. My old Rhodesian Ridgeback at my feet keeping herself warm near the fire and - always - watching out for her family. In that moment this song reached across an ocean of time and I was struck by it once again: The simple times that bookend our lives are what matter. It took half a century to appreciate that.

This is my daughter’s ring tone! I hear it every time she calls me! When she was young and even today she uncomplicated. She enjoys the simplicity of life!! 😊This song describes her perfectly!!😊😊😊

loved the song but couldn't the simple references have stayed simple, person who put this video together? I am no prude but good grief, Tom was singing about simple things and the video turned it into something else. Oh well, listen and close your eyes, I guess. To Tom, rest in peace. My husband loved his music and played it often. Rob...I hope you & Tom can now enjoy each other's company. "I love YOU, TOO......"
