Let me ask you a question, how much of this game is spent skipping turns and clicking on random technologies, vs fighting like this? how combat oriented is this game.
Thanks for the question. For me it is 80-90% exploration and empire building and maybe 10-20% ship battles and ground combat. Some players skip watching battles entirely, while others prefer to not micro manage their empires and focus a bit more on combat.

For the governor with the ganes street approval or reducing the over colonisation and overpopulation issue if you pick the skill for approval you get less approval as a hole in comparison to the overpopulation and over colonisation that like the approval can be upgraded to double the effect

Thanks very much! I am super glad that you are finding the videos entertaining and informative! I have enjoyed watching Lets Play videos for years and have learned much from seeing how others play, but as the number of content creators faded out, I became motivated to give it a try. I am planning on sticking around, posting at least one series for every faction and DLC expansion, so hopefully at least 6 additional series. That will probably take a couple years, and who knows? Maybe ES3 might eventually be developed, and/or I may try my hand at Endless Legend or Humankind.

Man I am currently in a game with the Riftborn, I don't know if it has something to do with the reawakening update, but their Hunter class has like SEVEN attack modules and on support module, I've stuffed them with Quadrinix Beams and I'm over 4 000 atttack each, its so insane it's funny, and that's not even the upgraded version xD Cheers ! Edit : Oh and I've found an exotic sieging module that does 50 defense damage per turn, I think it's absolutely broken, but I can take a 200 defense system with a single coordinator in one freaking turn ahaha

Nice to see the "feature" of being able to go through with going through a closed border territory with our fleets be "removed", these a the kind of logic betterments that keep the game more and more relevant, even after all these years (not that it's not already freakin'awsom mate !) In my current game, I've got Ooblart assigned to my best fighting fleet and renamed it " Le NOoblart" get it ? "Le Noble Art" cause, yeah, he likes throwing punches. You should get those systems to level free within the a and b section of your empire it's all well and good get into the point of where you can get to level four and then get them out of your limit Paul but seriously get some of those systems deliver 3 as quick as you can

Hey ! I wonder how the pillaging loot count is calculated ingame, do we take from the player or from a disposable "neutral" pool in the galaxy Arf that would be worth to try a quick mutiplayer 1v1 match to answer that ^^
Oooh, that is a really good question! I have a fuzzy memory about it but I think I might remember that the loot seems to be based on the resources that the computer player has. I think I correlated it when trying diplomacy and seeing what the computer player has to trade and then seeing similar ratios when pillaging that player's star systems.

I was just thinking it was too bad I didnt suggest that you go with the Mavros skin for the Sophon ships and red player color prior to launching the game, but hey, war is in our hearts anyway xD About the bastion I hope you'll be able to build some more once you get the carrier blueprint tech :D Hip Hip Hurray for OBS, I'm sure you'll love the change !
Please play the next wonder in the build queue at the home world does so it's put into the queue and at least ready to be pushed forward but if others start building it

I keep coming back to ES2, its UI, music, setting and slick mechanics jeep drawing me back. Good to see someone still making let's plays of it. I'm tuning in - It inspires me to fire up (yet another) Hiisho or Vodyani playthrough (favourite factions) I wish I could play Umbral Choir but the hacking mechanics causes a turn hanging bug so I've disabled that

I swear...all that money to upgrade the bastion might be better spent to get a hero. Upgrade the bastion to be stronger but gradually.

That academy ship is great early on..just be sure you don't do what I did when I first got it and garrison / store it in a system hanger, you can't get it back out.

After you trash the rebel fleet it might be time to scrap all your ships and build some simple ships that you can spend the rest of the game upgrading as needed. Youre paying upkeep on some pretty useless ships by now.

@@jcproton1097 I'm sure you may also already know this, but in addition to what @jefferydraper4019 said, the upkeep on those ships are also likely a bit higher on a class for class basis than the ones you can make. I just checked an old save file of mine and a station class ship (3cp 'civilian' attacker) with 1438 firepower, 1006 defense and 200 troops costs 18 dust per turn upkeep and a fireship I made (3cp 'unfallen' attacker) with 1865 firepower, 1396 defence and 360 troops costs 17 dust per turn upkeep.
I would have waited to establish those colonies in the Southwest. Youre already starving CA-5 and your New Colony Rule bonuses will all end within 2 turns of each other. Maybe wait a couple more turns on Dobryna and let those colonies establish first and then streeeeeeeeetch that Ponzi scheme out.
You are not wrong. I was pretty greedy to expand so quickly. Maintaining approval may become a bit tricky!
Those Pulsos with Thinkers and Tinkers affects sooooooo much more than just extra industry. A little bit of a concern is your dust income is getting low.
Rename Talitha to Pyrrhus. The planets remind me of Harry Harrison's Deathworld.
I know you often put them off in the background and you try to avoid doing them but you may want to just get one or all of the wonders done with a knockdown just to get the bonuses you know before the AI gets it and closes that off altogether

Since you have all those faat Patrollers back in your main area...how tough can you make them? Can you make them tough enough to deal with the quest ships? If so pair or triple them up and clean them off then revert them to pure scouts. hat way you can end the quest sooner without producing unnecessary weaker warships. Hold that guy at Quorum for a turn or two and see if you can reach where those lanes and probes go in the east.
Push forward as fast as possible and settle forward. Riftborn are in a crunch between Cravers, Sophonts, and you so they cannot expand much further. Theyre also a good buffer between you and cravers

It would be great if on the marketplace screen there was a pop up informing you of which of your races used what luxuries as a booster. And if it gave you an indicator of if you have an income of those resources and how much. I always figured that to place this game with real intensity you would need a computer screen with post-it notes all around it telling you When youre going to upgrade a fleet which techs you will need at what times which ships are stuck in hangers and where What races you shipped and where Systems at a glance although your naming convention helps there. Luxuries and strategics you need The terraforming upgrade chain

True! However, I also get the +1 industry to all my star systems for each one that I explore because of Pulsos assimilation trait Thinkers and Tinkers I. So I am okay with helping out the other major factions a bit. This show of benevolence will make Emperor Zelevas' victory even more glorious!

I wonder if you can profit on NEW COLONY LAW approval from see-sawing back and forth between a couple of worlds abandoning and reestablishing a colony, over and over? Haroshem to Hath then back again a few turns later Khras to Gienah then back again a few turns later on offset a couple of turns from the one above so the NEW COLONY LAW is always giving its effect.
Smart idea! Prior to the Re-Awakening update, I have found that the +25 approval bonus from New Colony Law disappears if you no longer have the colony, like if you abandon it. I do not remember testing to verify whether or not this also happens if losing the system to invaders, but I suspect it to be the same.
@@jcproton1097 How about using up all its turns, abandoning it after that and reestablishing a colony either there or another worthless system, hold it till NCL expires abandon it, return to the previous and re-colonize, over and over, and over??

Yes, you are absolutely correct. I will move him when he has completed his assignment cooldown. My thinking was that since he was only level 3 when I got him and AG5 was a new colony with low industry, I put Wud Svez on a system with higher industrial output, temporarily, so that he could level up a bit faster.

I wondered about that little adamantium storage ship trick. I wonder if the Sophonts have a decent mapfile that includes a lot of the Riftborn info. If the RB dont want to cooperate, maybe the Sophonts do.😂😂😂

Excellent question! My preference is that I tend to be really greedy for experience with my hero and try to get every bit of exploration xp I can for him.
Those later technologies really benefitted from REACT...gaining up to 3 turns. Nice!
