I prefer vintage refrigerators like these over modern ones with sophisticated electronic/digital controls and computers. The same is true for other appliances as well.

No different than how it always runs. Had it for 4 years now.. time fly’s. Got it for free in 2020 from a guy who had just bought a new one for his kitchen as u know. He wanted it to go to someone who needs it.
He had it forever and decided to get a new one. Definitely won’t last as long as this…. By a long shot. My grandfathers 7 year old garage fridge has a bad door gasket already.
The door on it is barely closing and the light bulb imploded from moisture…. He needs to fix it.
@chrisscott5339 The new ones are loaded with Chinese crap parts. Both my GE and Whirlpool are going strong still with nothing more than basic maintenance.

@@brunoshow124 Yes it is.. the ice maker broke. But I put the one from the other GE in it. Since it’s the one currently connected to the water.

@@brunoshow124 Yeah. It can probably be repaired. But I didn’t try it. Me and my grandfather went and got a free side by side that I might use eventually. It’s currently in his shop.

@chrisscott5339 oh ok fairs. Haven't got a crt at the moment but might get one soon. My grandma's one lasted over 20 years tho she got it in the late 90s and it packed up in 2017

I just got this same model from the thrift shop for $10. Image is a little off-center through testing, but a modded Wii has software built-in to help combat this. Loving this TV so far

Well I got it to stop. Eventually the ice maker quit for good. I never got around to replacing the ice maker before I moved and it went to someone else.

Yeah… it was shaking that part the most. Got that little tube on it. I couldn’t help but think it vibrated it too much. Because that wasn’t there before when I’ve checked it. Or at least I didn’t hear or see it. 🤔
Probably outta try the nitrogen trick or the UV dye option and see if its leaking anywhere else

Btw that LG window ac is still working. The best modern day air conditioner I’ve seen… it will freeze you out. Got the old style controls. Very powerful instead of short cycling. I recommend it. Sure it’s got foam where the fan is instead of metal but it functions better than any new or I’ve seen.

Well actually that’s most likely the mineral oil splashing around that you’re hearing in the compressor itself. Oil bath compressors.
Supposed to be in a hot vapor state when it’s in and leaving the compressor. (So that should be the oil you’re hearing as I said)

sounds good. I still like the sound of a Seeger-Whirlpool rotary vane compressor a little better if I'm honest. But that compressor is a nice sounding one too.
Yeah.. Sounds fantastic in person. Really powerful. This design has 2 filter driers by the way. One on each side of the system.
Oh yeah, Part of the sound is those lines vibrating. It shakes the lines and driers a little. Lol

Very lucky it was actually not damaged at all. I seriously thought it was seized up. Just wasn’t running because I had the wires on the wrong terminals and didn’t even realize it. David tried to tell me, but I was sure I had it right. Lol.
@@chrisscott5339 It sure doesn't hurt to double check work. I've seen him revive what looked impossible, so definitely a good resource to listen to. Main thing is you didn't give up on it.
@@dynatrak That’s true. Yeah i kept at it. I was gonna put a new compressor on it if all else failed. Lol. Just need to fix the control and it needs a paint job. Got it to run off of the thermostat from my water fountain. If you look at the latest video i put up I sent the link to David so he can see what I was talking about. Can’t tell where the white wire is supposed to connect on that thermostat control.

I know it probably looks wrong from the front because I had the hardest time trying to hook it up and hooked up the top black one up first. It’s on the back and hard to reach on this one.
The terminals being in the awkward place they are it took me 17 minutes to connect them. Lol
On the original plastic piece they’re labeled R and B. Then common has what looks like a J
Hey, I think you have the relay hooked up wrong! Start and Run are swapped.
I don’t know.. I doubt it. The black common is in the top. The red is on the left. And white on the right. I hooked according to how they had it on the original. And it did try to start. Turns a little then just hums.
