I threw this junk (especially the fork) in the trash as soon as I got it. For a pike/debonair. Such crap. Would run off the trail on a cambered trail.

How hard is it to retrofit this on another bike? I have a cannondale scalpel that has this tech in the front lefty fork but not the back

I always wanted to try this and see how it feels on a bike, pedal bob REALLY bothers me and this seems to fix that.

why not put this 'brain' inside the shock...less crap on your bike :))

The Specialized Brain rip off job is a very bad execution of inertia valve technology pioneered by Ricor. Even their "Flow Control discovery" claim is another Ricor rip-off. Ricor "Inertia Valve Flow Contol" patent # 5954167. issued before Specialized hired their Brain 'inventor'.They didn't invent that. Ricor worked with GM Delphi Chassis active suspension division, equipped many 200 mph+ race cars, got banned from NASCAR and was dominating all the Dakar Rallies 1,2,3 at the time. Specialized licensed the Ricor functional/ seamless system and put it on the shelf to apparently keep other mfg's from kicking their ass with a much better, cost effective, lighter maintenance free system. Bottom line, shame on Specialized on many levels.

This is all great until your shock less then 2 year old $3000 bike starts to leak oil. So you remove shock with brain send into to fox for service costing you 130 bucks and then send you back a shock and the brain does not work. So you call fox tell them problem send shock back and all they do is make the shock stiffer while never bothering to address the fact the brain does not work. So take it back to where I bought bike they can take it off send it back to fox and will only cost me another 160 bucks and odds are I will still get a shock back that the brain does not work on.

Patent number US5954167 title is "Flow sensitive acceleration (inertia) sensitive shock absorber with added flow control ". An inertia valve (Brain) suspension mountain bike was developed, presented to and ridden by the major suspension suppliers in the late 90s. Specialized didn't invent the Brain mountain bikes. They just ripped it off and sold a horrible execution to their customers. Now they claim to have come up with "Flow controlled inertia valves" Fuck you Specialized / thieving Bastards.

I would of bought the Enduro had it had the brain implemented into the system. Went ahead and got the stumpy but wish I had a slight bit more rear travel I really wanted the brain lol
