Great video. Straight through a STOP sign at 1:02:44! Lucky you weren't squished. You could have taken the coastal route from Killarney to Wexford, even if you only did the coast from Cork onwards. It would have rounded off the trip really well. But saying that, you covered a sensible amount of territory for the time you had. I can't recommend highly enough that to get the best out of a trip to Ireland you should find a base for a few days at at a time and do rideouts, rather than linear routes.

I've never brought my bike on a ferry. How does it work? Do you just leave your bike on the side stand or do they ask you to strap it down? I see orange straps there where you parked your bikes.

I’ve always found Premiere Classe hotels really good for an overnight stop. They are what they claim to be a cheap convenient plac3 to spend the night.

Well hello you two. Just finished watching all the episodes of your trip to Switzerland. A nice new channel which i'll look forward to watching it grow. Well it certainly looked like you enjoyed yourselves, weather could have been a little kinder. It brought back lots of memories of when we went there some 10 years ago, visiting lots of the same places. The Ice Palace had different sculptures. Great to see you came back along the B500, calling in at Mummlesee and Triberg which we will be visiting ourselves this year on the way to the Dolomites. Brought back some memories of this years trip. I started from Baden-Baden, rode the B500 then cut south on the L96 to Wolfach then Triburg. Some great roads there with amazing scenery and fairy tale villages. What you showed is not the actual worlds largest cuckoo clock, that is at the back of the building and can be made to operate outside the set times for 1 Euro. The tour inside is for the fully wooden mechanism for the clock at the back. If you had stopped at the second cuckoo shop there is a set of water operated moving figures at the side next to the small river.

Oh dear first mistake when taking your good lady on hols on the bike. These hotels are ok for a lads trip but if you do a wee bit more research you can get a lot better for little more. Loving the trip vlog so far.

Looks like you must have taken the wrong St Gotthard pass, the new one. The best one is the Tremola, the old St Gotthard, lots of hairpins and a cobbled road surface. Looks like you also missed the Neufenen, the highest of the passes. The 5 passes can be done in a figure of 8 although it does mean repeating the Furka and possibly the Grimsel. If you have time then a short detour to the top of the Oberalps pass and back can be added on. Can't see why you went up the motorway to Lucerne though, adds the extra cost for the Vignette you need for motorways. In Switzerland I would never think of taking a motorway, too many other good roads.

You must have been there mid week, at weekends the Grimsel and Furka are full of bikes, motor and pedal. At least looked a bit warmer than the beginning of June this year, the lake at the top of the Grimsel was still mostly frozen when I was there. You missed the photo op at the biker sculpture at the top of the Grimsel though.

The Lindt shop at the Jungfraujoch is not the best place to buy chocolate, prices are extortionate, best to go into a supermarket and get their brand, just as good. I took the train down to Kleine Sheideg then another train down to Lauterbrunen instead of taking the gondola down. It was then another 2 trains back to my base in Meiringen. I had bought a 3 day Bernese Oberlander pass which covered the trains, the boats on the lakes, mountain railways and cablecars plus local buses. Only the final train to the top of the Jungfrau was extra although there was a discount. Another good trip is the Brienz-Rothorn Bahn, a heratige steam cog railway with amazing views going up the mountain and from the top. The Aareschlucht was great on a hot day, not so much of a flow when I visited as the weather had been drier. Did you take the train back to the start of the gorge, with the station in the side of the cliff?

Stayed in the area last June, with a few days in Meiringen. Had a couple of days off the bike using trains and an afternoon on Lake Brienz on the steam paddler. Took a trip up the Jungfraujoch, was lucky to get a really good day for it. Last day was a ride along Lake Brienz to Interlaken then round Lake Thun , down to Laterbrunnen before back to base. Took a bit of route finding going back through Interlaken as the road was closed with roadworks, one of many in Switzerland.

Stayed in one of those "hotels" on the way back from Switzerland in June. Tiny room, no air conditioning on a very hot evening, one window for ventilation unless you left the door open. At least it had a fridge and microwave so could at least get some hot food. The only good thing about it was that it was cheap.

@davidedge4557 the name Perky Bikers is derived from our surname Perkins... also we had been watching Peaky Blinders at the time so became a play on words :)

Loving the channel, look forward to watching the series. We did Switzerland in July, loved it.

I guess Mrs Perky soon got there isn't a passenger on a bike but 2 riders 👍
